The Communication Process
Communication is a process of exchanging information, ideas, thoughts, feelings and
emotions through speech, signals, writing, or behaviour. Effective business communication is
critical to the successful operation of modern enterprise. Every business person needs to
understand the fundamentals of effective communication. In groups of four to six make an
oral presentation on the communication process take into account both verbal and non verbal
communication. In your presentation use a communication model and discuss the different
elements (sender, receiver, etc) as it relates to the process. Be sure to explain each element as
it relates to the other.

Create a writing portfolio which should include the following pieces:
A.
I) You are the Vice Principal at the Excellence Primary school and you have been
nappointed as team leader of the school’s annual community outreach project. Your
team has decided to seek sponsorship from a private organization to build a computer
lab that would facilitate students as well as members of the community. Write a
business letter to any organization, seeking sponsorship for this venture.
ii). The organization solicited for sponsorship has responded to your letter and has
invited you to present a proposal outlining the details of the project your team intends
to undertake. Write your speech that you will present to the organization.
B. On the 27th of January, 2012, you were summoned to a classroom where students
were being disruptive. Upon reaching the classroom, you realize that the class teacher
was absent and had not yet arrived, hence students were unsupervised. Suddenly, two
boys began fighting and fists were thrown and a pencil was used to inflict wounds to
one of the boys’ right arm. You try to separate the boys and you too were also harmed
with the pencil. Other teachers heard the commotion and rushed inside to quell the
situation. Write an incident report to the Principal, giving details of what occurred.
C. Choose one of the following topics below and write ONE research essay, using no
less than 700words. Your essay should include at least five (5) in-text citations using
the APA style. Also, include a reference page.
