
Click on “The Rock Cycle”
Go through the activity - place labels into
the correct spots.

When you finish, label the diagram

Move on to activity B, once successfully
completing without making any errors!
(open/close windows between lessons)
B. Plates, Earthquakes and Volcanoes
code:



Scroll to bottom of page and click on #5 ‘Plate Movements’ under the Activities section
Select the ‘Assignments’ tab near the top of the page ….. finally Click on the link to ‘JVV Jr.’ (near bottom)

Under the ‘Add Features’ column select ‘Earthquakes, Volcanoes and Tectonic Plates. (choose all 3)
(hold the ctrl button to add multiple layers …. Press the brown make changes button … Describe what you see

Describe how volcanoes and earthquakes are related to the tectonic plates?
__________________________________________________________________________________________

Under “Select Base Map” choose “Seismic
Hazard” (also select “Coastlines”
for continent boundaries) click ‘make changes’.
Describe where the 2 most hazardous locations are in Canada.
