Meeting Minutes
February 9, 2013
Jobe Hangar, Groveland, Ca.
The meeting was called to order by President Dennis Smith at 10:20AM.
Members Present: Bob Hornauer, Leon Liebster, Steve Martin, Dave Morgan, Catherine Santa Maria and
Dennis Smith.
The minutes of the last meeting were not available for review.
Treasurer Catherine Santa Maria gave the financial report. Total balance all accounts is $18,718 as of
January 31, 2013. After discussion Leon Liebster made a motion to file the report for audit, Bob
Hornauer seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Steve Martin and Dennis Smith ( Finance Committee) gave a report on the approved budget for 2013
and stated that all fixed and variable numbers were checked and audited and were in order. They stated
that the hourly rental rate is still correct at $85 per hour and would not need to be adjusted again until
gas prices go up to $6.20 per gallon. In addition, they stated that the monthly dues could be revisited
again and possibly adjusted once the membership is increased by two or more paying members.
Bob Hornauer made a motion that dues increases or decreases should be made in increments of $25.
Catherine Santa Maria seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Maintenance-Bob Hornauer stated that the plane has been blocked out on the schedule starting
February 15, 2013. The plane will be moved to Mike Gustafson’s hangar on the 15th and Mike will install
the engine analyzer. After Mike has completed the project the plane will be moved over to the Jobe
Hangar for the annual.
Gabe Coehlo will take the prop to be inspected.
Steve McCorkle is loaning a Gasoline power tug to move the plane around.
Bob Hornauer stated that the new spinner and new rear bulkhead will be installed at the annual.
Bob Hornauer gave a report on the approx. cost of the engine replacement which will come to approx.
$25,000. Bob will continue to monitor this project and is doing extensive research.
Larry Jobe stated that the group needed to reorganize/clean up our stuff in his hangar in preparation for
the annual coming up.
Membership-Possible new members: Paul Henry, Herman Schaap , Joe Ramano and Scott.
Other-Leon Liebster made a motion that our monthly meeting be changed to the second Saturday of the
month at 10:00am. Catherine Santa Maria seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Safety-Bob Hornauer stated that AOPA has started a program for flying clubs. He will follow up on this,
including safety subjects available, and give us an update at the next meeting.
Adjournment-Dave Morgan moved to adjourn the meeting at 11:20AM. Bob Hornauer seconded the
motion. Motion carried unanimously.
