First Announcement
On behalf of the IOBC/WPRS WG “IPP Fruit Crops” Subgroup Soft Fruits, you are cordially
invited to the forthcoming workshop that will take place from 25th to 28th of May 2014 at the
Experimental Station of the Edmund Mach Foundation in Vigalzano, Pergine Valsugana
(Trentino, Italy).
The aims of the meeting are bring together the latest advances in research on the integrated
control of pests, diseases and weeds of soft fruits, provide an opportunity for exchange
information and ideas and stimulate common research and collaboration.
Please, fill out the enclosed pre-registration form and send it to the local organizer

Proposed topics, relevant to integrated plant protection in soft fruits
Drosophila suzukii (Spotted Wing Drosophila), certification and health of propagation stock,
pesticides and application techniques for use in IP systems, biocontrol of pests, weeds and
diseases, biology of pests and diseases, use of pheromones and kairomones in pest control,
monitoring and forecasting of pests and diseases, management of diseases, viruses and
phytoplasmas, diagnostic tools for pests and diseases, economic injury levels, soil
management and weed control, methods for physical and cultural control, host-plant
resistance/cultivars suitable for IP and organic farming, post-harvest and storage diseases,
practical implementation of IPM in soft fruits.

by plane: there are no international airports in Trento.
The nearest one (about 100 km) is Verona Airport. A
shuttle take you in about 20 minutes to the Verona Porta
Nuova train station. Other airports are Milano Malpensa
(264 km), Milano Linate (226 km), Bergamo-Orio al
Serio (180 km), Venezia (173 km).
by train: travel by train from Verona Porta Nuova to
Trento takes about 60 minutes. There are local trains or
coaches from Trento to Pergine Valsugana (about 20
minutes). For trains from Verona and other cities to
Trento and local trains from Trento to Pergine

by car: you can reach Trento by driving on the Brennero

guided tour in Trento, a trekking on the Lagorai
