The oscillator is designed using Agilent ADS providing a phase noise -110dbc/Hz and output power level of 10dbm. The frequency source is realized in microstrip technology with dielectric constant 3.2, height of the substrate as 1.524 mm and loss tangent 0.0025. The PHEMT used in this frequency synthesizer is having high Q factor and low insertion loss. The gate to source voltage VGS is taken as -0.7 V and drain to source voltage is 2 V. The frequency of oscillation is 5.25 GHz with an output power level being equal to 1.7 dBm. The phase noise of the oscillator is better than -110dBc/Hz with an offset of 10MHz and the first harmonic frequency power level being suppressed at least 15 dBm below. This microwave frequency source can be used in applications dedicated to ISM band frequencies.
