Using what you have learned from our class discussions, your homework, and a primary source you will find during you visit to the library, you will defend if you feel Jackson was a positive or negative historical figure. You are going to write a letter to the editor or a new history textbook that is about to be published. You are going to try and persuade him either to talk about Jackson as a positive or negative historical figure in their soon to be published history textbook. You letter will include three reasons why Jackson is a positive or negative historical figure as well as make reference to the primary source document you found to back up your point. Your letter MUST include the following 1. An appropriate salutation/greeting 2. A thesis statement that briefly introduces why you are writing and your initial opinion on if Jackson is a positive or negative historical figure 3. Three reasons why Jackson was a positive or negative historical figure with specific examples. One of these reasons must make reference to your primary source document 4. Your letter should have a conclusion that restates your opinion as well as recaps your main ideas 5. You should sign your letter 6. Your letter should be between 250-300 words.
