What’s Happening in July?
Important Dates in July
Did you know July is National Baked Beans Month,
National Blueberry Month, National Hot Dog Month,
National Ice Cream Month, National Recreation
Month and National Picnic Month?! There is also
Graham Cracker Day, Fresh Spinach Day and
Macaroni Day. It has made the menu planning fun!
July is also Anti-Boredom Month, which we will
“celebrate” by keeping busy, busy, busy!

No Ants Allowed!
We’re having a picnic! On Wednesday, July 3rd, we
will be enjoying our lunches outside on blankets in
the shade of the big trees. We will have hot dogs,
chips and bananas for a no-spill, easy clean-up, fun
time! If you would like to join us, please let us know
by Monday so we can buy extra dogs. 

Express Yourself!
We will have two more Splash Days this month on
Friday the 12th and on Friday the 26th. Bring
swimsuits, towels, water shoes and water toys.
Reminders will be posted on the front door.

We All Scream for Ice Cream!
We’re Going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo…
Not only is it National Ice Cream month, July 1st is
Creative Ice Cream Flavors Day, the 7th is
Strawberry Sundae Day, the 17th is Peach Ice
Cream Day, the 21st is National Ice Cream Day,
and the 23rd is Vanilla Ice Cream Day! In honor of
these “very important holidays”, on July 23rd, we will
be making our own ice cream to enjoy for snack.
You can come too, too, too! That song has been
stuck in my head since we scheduled our trip to
The Austin Zoo for the Butterflies class. We are
very excited to head out on this adventure July 17th!
Let the Games Begin!
For National Recreation Month we will be holding
the 1st Annual “Sunshine Olympics”. Each class
will be working on ideas for games and constructing
event courses throughout the month. On July 31st,
the athletes will be ready to compete!
with enticing materials & explore your own creative process”
The Butterflies are ready to get creative July 11th.
Making Waves at the Movies
The Butterflies class has been studying sand &
sea, and what better way to end the lesson than to
experience “Oceans” on the big screen! We’re off to
the movies on Tuesday the 23rd.
Reminders
-Immunization records must be kept up to date.
-Show & Share is Friday. Do not bring toys from home any other time.
-Please remember that children must be dropped off by 9:30am. If you
are running late, or your child will not be in attendance please call.
-Sign your child in/out each day on the clipboard in the main hallway.
