Job Title:
Associate Director of Development & Communications
Team:
Administration, Resource Development
Immediate Supervisor: Director of Resource Development
The Neighborhood Developers (TND) is a non-profit community development corporation working to
revitalize neighborhoods by building affordable housing, promoting economic empowerment, and
supporting community building through organizing. TND believes great neighborhoods empower people
to grow and prosper. Our target areas are in Chelsea and Revere Massachusetts, historic but largely
low-income gateway communities, home to a richly diverse population of first and second generation
immigrants from Central America, the Caribbean, Africa, and Southeast Asia.
Position Summary Description
This is a new position that will support expansion of TND’s Resource Development strategies. The
Associate Director will join a team that is building and implementing a new fundraising and
communications plan to raise the necessary revenue to achieve long-term organizational goals. The key
areas of focus for the position will include: stewarding relationships with individual donors, building a
leadership giving program, cultivating corporate sponsorships and managing TND’s external
communications plan to support organizational fundraising and visibility goals. We are looking for
someone with the ability to relate well to corporate and individual philanthropic donors and who has
relevant experience to shape, manage and drive our results-driven resource development plan. The
Associate Director will develop and implement a specific individual and corporate sponsorship
fundraising and communications plan to leverage and maximize impact of the Community Investment

(foundations, corporations, and state and federal government sources). TND is a member of the national
NeighborWorks America network, a Congressionally funded network of community development nonprofits that provides annual funding and capacity building support. Over the last three years, the
organization has tested new resource development strategies and raised $275,000 through
sponsorships and individual donors. The Director will further build out TND’s private-sector
philanthropy, managing corporate sponsorships and leadership giving. Additionally, the Director will
take responsibility crafting the organization’s communications work plan and overseeing its
implementation.
In 2012, TND and five partners launched a systems-changing collaboration called CONNECT. The
program is housed at TND’s headquarters and TND serves as the sole operational partner. A three-year
$3 million US Department of Labor grant was received in mid-2012 to launch the collaboration.
