in computer programming, network support or

Accommodations for Disabilities & Religious
Observations Please inform the instructor of religious
observations (see Policy 2.07) or disabilities that impact class
work. Also, contact Disability Services at 612/659-6730,
TTY: 612/659-6731 if you can benefit from an
accommodation letter. Religious and disability
accommodations will be gladly provided as specified by the
college.
Academic Dishonesty Cheating, plagiarism, and/or
academic dishonesty, as defined by MCTC, will not be
tolerated. Academic dishonesty includes, but is not limited to:
knowingly furnishing false information or someone else’s
work to the College. Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:
using published work of others without clear
acknowledgement, including materials that are bought or
otherwise obtained. For more information see
http://www.minneapolis.edu/About-Us/Policies/StudentAffairs-Policies/404-Student-Code-of-Conduct.
Original Work It is required that students turn in, for
grading, original work that they have created for the class, or
that their group has created. “Recycled” work is not accepted.
Asking for Help If directions are unclear, students are
responsible for asking the instructor for help in advance of
deadlines. Needing help doesn’t excuse students from meeting
deadlines.
Student Classroom Conduct Students must display a
professional manner in all class-related interactions, whether
online or in person. This means using communication
standards that are legal in the workplace, and acceptable to
diverse groups of people. Disruptive or disrespectful behavior
is unacceptable, especially if it imposes on the rights, safety
and success of others.
To promote face-to-face interaction, personal devices must be
turned off prior to the beginning of class. Use of games/
media, taking calls, texting or working on other projects is not
allowed unless otherwise stated for workshop activities. If a
student receives an urgent message during class, he/she should
alert the instructor in order to be excused. If the student
continues to multi-task during class, it may be treated as a
partial absence.
Student Attendance and Tardiness Students are
expected to abide by MCTC Policy 4.05.01 Procedures for
Changing Enrollment http://www.minneapolis.edu/AboutUs/Policies/Student-Affairs-Policies/405-CourseEnrollment/40501-Procedures-for-Changing-Enrollment.
Failure to meet this expectation may negatively affect
students’ grades, because work may be assigned and turned in
during class sessions. Students who decide to stop attending
and/or submitting work should immediately drop/withdraw.
Otherwise, they may be administratively withdrawn. The
student will remain responsible for academic or financial
consequences, due to withdrawal.
Academic Progress Standards Students are required to
maintain a minimum 2.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) and
complete 67% of their coursework. As of Fall 2011, students
whose cumulative GPA and completion rate do not meet
satisfactory academic progress requirements will be put on
warning status. If a student’s cumulative GPA and completion
rate do not meet requirements the following term, he/she will
be put on suspension. If a student is currently on academic
probation, he/she must meet cumulative standards by the
following semester. The full policy is found at
http://www.minneapolis.edu/About-Us/Policies/StudentAffairs-Policies/413-Satisfactory-Academic-ProgressAcademic-and-Financial-Aid.
