The Wexner Heritage Program (WHP), the Foundation’s signature initiative for outstanding volunteer leaders in the North American Jewish Community, is a two-year adult Jewish learning and leadership program. Job Title: Program Associate, Wexner Heritage Program The Wexner Foundation seeks to engage an emerging Jewish professional to assume the newly created role of Program Associate for the Wexner Heritage Program. Based in the Foundation’s new offices in midtown Manhattan, the Program Associate will be engaged in all aspects of the WHP. This position combines a full complement of administrative responsibilities with significant programmatic responsibilities which will grow in accordance with the individual’s interests and abilities. The ideal candidate will be someone beginning or seriously considering a career as a Jewish professional, seeing this position as an opportunity for growth, mentorship, skill-building and gaining professional experience in the context of an established and well-respected Foundation in the Jewish community. We seek an energetic, motivated, and highly-organized individual with team spirit, ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds, and a willingness to perform a very wide variety of tasks in service of the goals of the program. The Program Associate must have a strong Jewish background and programmatic experience is a significant plus. The Program Associate will work directly with the Director of the WHP and the Director of Operations and Conferences, and will be an integral part of the Foundation’s staff team. Responsibilities: Overall: administrative and programmatic support of Recruitment, Seminars, and Institutes for WHP, as well as administrative support for Director of the WHP. a. Recruitment and Selection of Program Members Contact with partner communities to outline and develop recruitment strategy. Assist with development of recruitment materials. Coordinate nomination process and work to increase the program’s reach. Coordinate application process, including contact with applicants. Coordinate interview process and Selection Panels. Assist with onboarding of new Members. Assist with marketing and outreach for 2012 Russian-speaking Jews cohort. b. Seminars Coordinate Seminars in various communities, including ongoing communication with contacts at Seminar locations, caterers, hotels. Work with faculty, both on travel and logistics and on curriculum development. Communicate with Members regarding attendance, evaluations, and administration. Assist in developing, rethinking, and tweaking Seminar curriculum. Scout and evaluate potential new faculty members. Coordinate and oversee Member-facilitated leadership conversations. c. Summer Institutes Develop programming for Institutes as part of program team. Assist with developing registration materials & evaluations, registration, travel for faculty and members, and readings/prep materials. Staff Institutes—onsite conference coordination and programmatic help. d. Other Support Director’s travel & other administrative needs. Be part of office administrative support team. Support on other projects as necessary. Requirements BA and demonstrated background/interest in Jewish learning and Jewish community is required for this job. MA and/or some experience working in the Jewish community professionally is ideal. Compensation Entry-level professional salary and a generous benefits package.
