ESTORINO DOOLING AS NEW VICE PRESIDENT OF MUSEUM COLLECTIONS MIAMI (Oct. 6, 2015) – HistoryMiami Museum is pleased to announce that Maria R. Estorino Dooling has joined the museum’s senior leadership team as the new vice president of museum collections. Estorino Dooling comes to HistoryMiami Museum with more than 14 years of experience in collections management and programming. “Maria’s vast experience in the museum world will be a great benefit to HistoryMiami as we continue to advance our object and archival collections as well as our research center,” said President / CEO Stuart A. Chase. “Maria’s objective will be to emphasize making such collections discoverable and accessible to the community while activating them in support of the museum's mission to tell Miami's stories.” A Miami native, Estorino Dooling received a Master’s of Arts in history with a concentration in public history from Northeastern University and a Master’s of Science in Library Science from Simmons College. She also holds a Bachelor’s in history from Loyola University New Orleans and participated in the Smithsonian Institution's Latino Museum Studies Program. Estorino Dooling serves on the editorial board of the journal Cuban Studies. She is a member of the Society of American Archivists (SAA), the National Council on Public History, the Seminar on the Acquisition of Latin American Library Materials (SALALM), and the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL).
