Mass was a beautiful and memorable occasion, con-celebrated by the Bishop and Father Russell. As Bishop Alan said, we were celebrating so much – the opening of the school’s new facilities, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception and the beginning of the Church’s Year of Mercy. The children were engaged and respectful throughout mass and read and sang with commitment. After mass the Bishop blessed our new rooms and our stained glass window, attended by those who had, in their various ways, made our new facilities possible. Governors Nick Cooper, Eiblis White and Kerry Urdzik with Bishop Alan Hopes, Father Padraig and Father Russell – and Alfie, LaShante and Maycen – after the blessing of our stained glass image of St. Pancras I hope that you were able to see the teachers you needed to see on our parent-teacher consultation evenings. Parents and carers seem to have appreciated the new format, with teachers together in the hall. Certainly there was a very good turnout, with almost all our children represented. If you were not able to attend, then please contact us. Our teachers will be happy to see you at another time. Carrying all before them – our victorious netball girls! Those of you who came to the first performance of our Infant Nativity will have been charmed by the children of Rainbows, Year 1 and Year 2 who sang and read so beautifully, telling the story of that very first Christmas with the passion and innocence that only that age group can bring together. There are some wonderful photographs in the school reception area. Please come and take a look.
