1. Call to Order: 1830
a. Introductions; explanation of purpose of PTO; roles of members vs Board members; expression of
teamwork approach.
2. Minutes: Review of minutes from last General meeting
Meeting minutes are posted on the website.
Motion to accept minutes from June 9, 2015 made, seconded and approved.
3. Officers’ Reports
a. President’s Report: Meet the Teacher night: Ice Cream Social was fun but may have distracted from the
time with the Teachers and there was complaint of trash. Suggestions made to: do it for open house or as
family night; order ice cream bars through food services (for cost); survey for back-to-school for feedback
re ice cream social now or after back-to-school night.
b. Treasurer’s Report: New format. Request to include copy of bank balance requested.
Motion to accept treasurer’s report made, seconded and approved.
4. Committee Reports
a. Box Top Committee: Melissa Welch volunteered to take over BoxTops, dates for collection are being
reconsidered for month-long collection.
b. Jog a thon Team: JaT is Thurs Oct 8, need volunteers
5. Principal’s Report: given by Kerrie-Ann Nosbusch, Student Support Specialist
a. This is a new role in the school, described as being like a Dean of Students; falls between PBIS
coordinator and Mr. Burnett, provides support to them and teachers.
b. Orca Training – first week of school. Kids were taught expectations with learning and repeat back demos
6. Unfinished (old) Business
a. June expenditures: Resource Room, Animoto and Sound System expenditures discussed in June have
been tabled. Further movement on those must be submitted at budget mtg.
7. New Business
a. Board vacancy: Request for co-President nominations.
Ashley Meyer nominated for Co-President, seconded and approved.
b. BooHoo/Yahoo for Kinder parents: plan to give out kisses and cute poem to parents
c. Parent directories: went out and will be turned into spreadsheets. Please fill out and return.
d. Patty Cornelsen: sending home requests for change to benefit fire fighters next week
e. Melissa Welch is taking over student council.
8. Announcements – upcoming events: Jog a thon kick off 9/25, Australian Animals assembly 9/30, Open
House 10/6, Jog a thon 10/8, next PTO meeting 10/13
