The race will start at the Rockdale Avenue cul-de-sac near the Lincoln Statue and finish at Fleishmann Gardens. Ozie Davis III, executive director of ACDC, said he sees the race as an opportunity to highlight Avondale as a place where families and business can thrive. "We think this inaugural run through Avondale will showcase the beauty of this community and show the greater Cincinnati community just how vibrant and resilient Avondale is,” Davis said. “This race is significant to future economic development opportunities as it signals Avondale's resurgence as a Choice neighborhood -- one where people choose to live, walk, run, play, and enjoy successful business relationships.” Henry Brown, ACDC Board vice chairman and vice president of the Avondale Running Club, hopes the community will take notice. “What better way to see the community close up than a fall road race in a beautiful community benefitting such a worthy cause?” Brown said. “As the Cincinnati region continues its revitalization, Avondale can be at the epicenter of that revitalization, and we are looking forward to people rediscovering one of Cincinnati’s most historic communities.” About: Avondale Comprehensive Development Corporation’s (ACDC) mission is to serve the Avondale community defined as residents, anchor institutions, faith-based institutions and businesses to improve the quality of life in the neighborhood.
