Job Title: Discovery/Chapel Program Instructor
Job Description: Camp Monahan is searching for an enthusiastic candidate to organize, plan
and run an effective Discovery/Christian Living program for children aged 6 to 13. Prior to the
camping season, the discovery instructor is in charge of creating and submitting a program plan,
as well as ordering any required materials within the provided budget. During the summer, this
position is responsible to planning and leading daily chapel in the morning and evening as well
as running daily interactive programming for various age-groups of campers. The discovery
instructor is also in charge of arranging a Roman Catholic mass once a week at camp. The
discovery director will also work with camp counselors to manage and deal with any camp
behaviors during the program and is expected to participate in all other camp activities including
campfire, meals, group activities and staff meetings. Experience working with and/or teaching
children is required as well as knowledge of the Catholic spiritual and faith based beliefs. A First
Aid certificate and a love of children, nature and camp life are considered assets. Interested

Job Title: Swim Staff
Job Description: Camp Monahan is searching for an enthusiastic person to plan, organize and
run an effective swimming program for campers aged 6 to 13. Prior to the camping season, you
are responsible for submitting a program plan and ordering any required materials within the
designated budget. At camp, the swim instructor is responsible for teaching basic swimming
skills and organizing age-appropriate games to be played in the camp’s junior Olympic-sized
pool. The swim instructor must be 18 years or older and must have current National Lifeguard
Service and CPR-C certificates. The swim instructor will also be in charge of all pool
supervision during programs and free time. This position will also work with the camp caretaker
to ensure the general upkeep and operation of the pool is maintained throughout the camping
season. The swim instructor is also required to participate in all other camp activities including
campfire, chapel, meals, group activities and staff meetings. Past experience working with
children as well as a love of nature and camp life are considered an asset. Interested applicants

Job Title: Canoe Instructor
Job Description: Camp Monahan is searching for an enthusiastic person to run the canoe
program during the summer camping season. The canoe instructor is in charge of planning,
organizing and running an effective canoe program for children aged 6 to 13. The canoe
instructor is responsible for teaching campers basic canoe and safety skills as well as planning
fun and engaging activities in the water and on the beach. Prior to the camping season, you are
responsible for submitting a program plan and ordering any required materials within the
designated budget. During the camping season, the canoe instructor is responsible for
maintaining the beachfront area of camp, supervising all beachfront activities and maintaining
camper safety. Candidates are also required to participate in all other camp activities including
campfire, meals, Chapel, group activities and staff meetings. Experience teaching or coaching
children and a certificate in small craft safety, Pleasure Craft Operator and/or equivalent
experience are required. Completion of Bronze Medallion and/or a First Aid course are
considered an asset. All applicants should also have a passion for children, nature and camp life.

Job Title: Senior Programs Camp Counsellor
Job Description: Camp Monahan is searching for an enthusiastic senior program counsellor to
plan, organize and run the camps canoe and hiking programs for campers aged 13 to 15. The
counsellors of this program are responsible for teaching campers the skills of trip planning,
orienteering, packing, outdoor food preparation, canoeing, backpacking and the appreciation of
low-impact camping. Throughout the summer, counsellors of this program will escort campers
on two seven-day canoe trips down the beautiful Qu’Appelle Valley as well as two 3-day hiking
trips around the scenic Katepwa Lake. The qualified applicant will have experience working with
youth, nature and camping and will also have qualifications in First Aid, canoeing and/or
Pleasure Craft Operators certificate. Applicants must also be 18-years or older. Counsellors are
responsible for the safety and well-being of all campers during the trip and are responsible for
ordering all food and supplies necessary for the program within the supplied budget. Completion

Job Title: Camp Counsellor
Job Description: Camp Monahan is seeking both male and female camp counsellors to lead
groups of children aged 6 through 13. Counsellors are responsible for the campers’ well-being
physically, mentally and spiritually through all camp programs. Counsellors will work with
groups of 5 to 12 campers per week and will be responsible to accompany these groups
throughout their daily programs and be in charge of running two of the programs- archery, arts
and craft. The aim of this position is to ensure that all campers have a quality camping
experience. Ideal candidates for these positions have a minimum age of 16, are responsible,
attentive, love working with children and are creative and young at heart. Qualifications in First
Aid, canoeing/boating and experience working with children and camping are considered assets.

Job Title: Junior Camp Counsellor
Job Description: Camp Monahan is looking for Junior Camp Counsellors to help run and
supervise children during the camping programs. The position is perfect for young adults who
are interested in working with children, nature and love camp life. Responsibilities include
leading groups of campers varying in age from 6 to 13. Junior counsellors will also assist the
program staff in organizing and running the swimming, canoeing, craft, outdoor education, and
discovery programs. Junior counsellors are expected to participate in all camp activities
including campfire, Chapel, meals, group activities and staff meetings. Qualifications in First
Aid and previous camping experience are considered assets. Applicants should also be mature
young adults, who work well with others and share a love for children and camping. Interested
