1. How to complete this form
 Before completing this application form, please read the information on the 2014 South Africa
Student Placement Program available at http://www.odvce.monash.edu.au/oxfam/saspp.html. Please
also make sure you meet the eligibility criteria listed below in Section 2.
 Please type your information directly into this form in the spaces provided.
 Once you have completed the application form, save it to your desktop, then e-mail it as an
attachment to the addresses provided in Section 13.
2. Eligibility
 To be eligible for the 2014 Monash-Oxfam South Africa student volunteer placements you must
currently be an undergraduate student at Monash University.
 At the time of application, you must have successfully completed at least 48 credit points of study in
your Bachelor degree at Monash.
 You must have at least one unit of your bachelor degree still to complete in 2013.
 You must be studying in a discipline required by the host organisations in South Africa. For the 2013
program, Oxfam has requested students with a background in one or more of the following:

social and community welfare, sociology, community development, education, public health,
health promotion, marketing, human resource management, information and communication
technology (ICT) and social media, media and communications.
 Monash South Africa students must have participated in the Monash University Student Volunteer
Program (MUSVP) in 2013.
3. Program preference

To be considered for a placement, students need to indicate which program they prefer to participate
in. Up to three preferences may be stated.

The Summer Placement Program: a six-week program in January-February
The Semester Placement Program: a 15-week program starting in January and extending
through Semester 1.
The Sandwich Placement Program: Two placements sandwiched either side of a semester of
study at the Monash South Africa campus.

organizations where their skill set is best suited and placement partners may change on short notice.
