APEx 2015 4 - 6 November 2015 in Perth, Western Australia
Application Criteria
Each APEx member organisation may nominate one applicant. To be eligible to nominate an applicant,
the organisation must have been a member of APEx for at least 12 consecutive months prior to the
application period.
The individual applicant must:

have had a minimum of three years and maximum of ten years of relevant industry experience;
and

be in a leadership role or have been identified as a future leader in the energy industry.
The application must demonstrate that the nominee meets the following criteria:
1.
has a demonstrated ability to present to energy professionals from various backgrounds on the
fundamentals of their power exchange, including contributing to discussions on topical issues,
recent experiences and/or regional or market-based trends;
2.
has a strong interest in the energy sector and a demonstrated ability to contribute to discussions
with APEx members related to the conference; and
3.
attending APEx 2015 will empower the nominee as an emerging leader in the energy sector. The
nominee will be able to disseminate information within their organisation to facilitate development
and communication of ideas and practices in the operation of global competitive electricity markets.

Applications will open Monday 17 August 2015 and all applications forms and required information must
be submitted by email to Office@APEx2015Perth.com by close of business Thursday 17 September
2015 (Australian Western Standard time).
Applicants will be notified of the outcome by Friday 24 September 2015 via email.

Application selection criteria
Please note that each of these selection criteria have a limitation of the number of words to encourage
short and precise answers. In Microsoft Word you can check you current word count by highlighting the
text; then selecting Review in the ribbon; Word Count; and Words.
2.1
The nominee has a demonstrated ability to present to energy professionals
from various backgrounds on the fundamentals of their power exchange,
including contributing to discussions on topical issues, recent experiences
and/or regional or market-based trends.
Please provide a statement of up to 350 words addressing this selection criteria.
2.2
The nominee has a strong interest in the energy sector and a demonstrated
ability to contribute to discussions with APEx members related to the
conference.
To fulfil this selection criteria please provide up to 600 words on what your Power Exchange or region
is currently experiencing in relation to one of the APEx 2015 topics below:

Gas and Electricity market interaction;

Environmental and renewable policies and the impacts to Power markets;

Co-optimising Capacity, Energy and Ancillary Service Markets;

Smart Grids, Smart Meters and Smart Markets; or

Providing the right economic signal to invest in Transmission.
2.3
Attending APEx 2015 will empower the nominee as an emerging leader in the
energy sector. The nominee will be able to disseminate information within their
organisation to facilitate development and communication of ideas and
practices in the operation of global competitive electricity markets.
