CONTACT: Cindy O’Neill 717-396-5671 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SKY’S THE LIMIT WITH NEW SIZE FOR ARMSTRONG LINE OF FORMATIONS™ CEILING CLOUDS Architects and designers now have a choice of cloud size, ceiling panel, suspension system, and perimeter trim when creating clouds Armstrong has expanded its line of Formations™ Squares Accent and Acoustical Ceiling Clouds with the addition of new capabilities to allow larger size clouds that enhance both aesthetics and acoustics, especially in open plenum spaces. In addition to its portfolio of fifteen standard Formations Squares clouds, Armstrong is now offering architects and designers a choice of square cloud size as well as a choice of the ceiling panel, suspension system and perimeter trim used in a cloud. The minimum length and width of custom-sized clouds is four feet. There is no maximum size as long as larger sized square clouds are in two-foot increments. To further expand design flexibility, any Armstrong 2’x 2’ ceiling panel can now be used in a square cloud, including lay-in, tegular, and Vector® panels. Designers can also choose from five suspension systems and six Axiom® perimeter trims. Trim is available in white as well as standard and custom colors. Designed for use in new construction or retrofit, Formations cloud ceiling systems consist of full-size ceiling panels and a kit containing all the pre-cut-to-length, ready-toassemble suspension system and perimeter trim components required to create the cloud. The pre-engineered elements help eliminate many of the risks of a custom installation. Improve Acoustics and Aesthetics Ideal for improving ceiling acoustics in exposed structure and other acousticallychallenged spaces, Formations Acoustical Clouds provide more ceiling sound absorption than a continuous ceiling of the same surface area because sound is absorbed on both the front and back surfaces of the cloud. For maximum performance, choose Optima®, Ultima®, Tierra™ and Cirrus® ceiling panels. -more- -2Aesthetically, both Formations Accent and Acoustical Clouds offer an appealing visual because all corners are factory-mitered, and all grid and perimeter trim is pre-cut to size to reduce the number of visual splices. Elimination of field fabrication helps assure better fit and cleaner, more precise joinery. Fewer Hanger Wires Required Formations Clouds also feature the StrongBack™ installation system that uses fewer hanger wires and recesses them to impart more of a “floating” look to the cloud. In addition, the hangers are made from aircraft cable instead of traditional wire to impart a sleeker, more finished appearance.
