Primary Purpose
Coordinate implementation process of social-emotional and academic student support initiatives. Collaborate
with the Executive Director in the planning, development, implementation, training and evaluation of the socialemotional and academic student support framework. Provide leadership and assistance to demonstration
campuses to ensure initiative success and sustainability.
Qualifications
Education/Certification
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
Valid Texas Teaching Certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills
 Knowledge of school operational systems.
 Knowledge of proactive strategies associated with creating and sustaining educational learning
environments that are positive, safe and conducive to learning.
 Knowledge and understanding of positive behavioral interventions and supports research and
practice.
 Knowledge in data collection, interpretation, analysis and implementation of assessment tools.
 Collaborate with other departments to develop effective function behavior assessments and
behavior intervention plans for students as needed.
 Training skills in effective behavior interventions including: school-wide, classroom, and
individual student behavior plans, school improvement, and cultural diversity.
 Ability to work with individuals with developmental and/or sensory disabilities.
 Ability to engage in evaluation, research, and/or planning processes.
 Ability to coach for leadership and school culture improvement.
 Strong organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
 Strong service orientation.
 Ability to employ collaborative decision-making processes, foster and promote team building.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Provide guidance and support for effective and consistent implementation of social-emotional and
academic support structures throughout the district.
2. Positively promote the vision, mission, and goals of social-emotional and academic student support
structures to campuses and departments District wide.
3. Collaborate with demonstration campus administrators, staff, and District leadership team to develop
an effective program, philosophy and procedures to help ensure student success as it relates to
behavioral needs.
4. Serves as a resource to administrators and teams, sharing ideas and reinforcing social-emotional and
academic student support goals.
5. Assist administrators and staff in the development of functional behavioral assessments and behavior
intervention plans as appropriate.

Assist teams with meeting facilitation, organization and task completion regarding campus Positive
Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) data-driven action plans.
Ensure that campuses are provided with ongoing training opportunities.
Respond to campus staff requests in a timely manner.
Foster an organizational climate that is collaborative, informative, and responsive to campus needs.
Provide technical assistance to demonstration campuses in the collection and review of discipline data.
Collaborate with demonstration campuses to conduct quarterly reviews and end of year evaluations for
continuous improvement and to ensure implementation fidelity and sustainability.
Serve on the District Leadership Team for PBIS.
Research social-emotional learning curriculum and resources aligned to district implementation
framework.
Participate in professional development opportunities and maintains current knowledge in socialemotional learning, restorative discipline practices, and educational trends.
Maintain current knowledge and understanding of applicable state laws and District policies.
