DOW HELPS TO REBUILD COMMUNITIES
DEVASTATED BY HURRICANE SANDY
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – December 20, 2012 – In the wake of the largest Atlantic hurricane on
record, The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW) today announced the organizations that will
receive $150,000 in community grants for relief and revitalization efforts in devastated
communities in New York and along the New Jersey coastline. This donation is one component
of Dow’s $500,000 multi-faceted Hurricane Sandy response plan announced in November.
“Dow is proud to stand together with our collective neighbors in the North East region who are
enduring the painstaking process of rebuilding,” said Bo Miller, Dow’s global director of corporate
citizenship and president of The Dow Chemical Company Foundation. “Recovery efforts are
expected to be long-term and we will continue to find ways to leverage our existing community
success programs to contribute in meaningful ways.”

shelter, meals and essential supplies to meet immediate and long-term needs exacerbated by
