This donation is one component of Dow’s $500,000 multi-faceted Hurricane Sandy response plan announced in November. “Dow is proud to stand together with our collective neighbors in the North East region who are enduring the painstaking process of rebuilding,” said Bo Miller, Dow’s global director of corporate citizenship and president of The Dow Chemical Company Foundation. “Recovery efforts are expected to be long-term and we will continue to find ways to leverage our existing community success programs to contribute in meaningful ways.” The organizations selected for support have mobilized volunteers, built partnerships and provided shelter, meals and essential supplies to meet immediate and long-term needs exacerbated by Hurricane Sandy. The organizations receiving grants from Dow include: The Christian Life Church (www.christianlifenj.com), which has offered warm shelter to those without power and organized debris cleanups, and food and clothing drives in Middlesex, N.J; Community FoodBank of New Jersey (www.njfoodbank.org), which is helping coordinate the distribution of more than 200,000 pounds of food each day to families facing loss and rebuilding; FISH, Inc.
