Roma heavy cows make 139c/kg
A total yarding of 1195 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s Prime Sale on
Thursday.
Steers over 550kg sold to 167c/kg and averaged 141c/kg, while steers in the
400-550kg earned to 156c/kg and averaged 121c/kg.
Heifers over 450kg sold to 140c/kg and averaged 117c/kg, while heifers in the
350-450kg sold to 134c/kg and averaged 115c/kg.
Finsbury Park, Finsbury Park, Roma, sold to 140c/kg for 530kg to return
$743/head.
Cows over 500kg peaked at 161c/kg and averaged 112c/kg, while cows in the
400-500kg class topped at 128c/kg and averaged 94c/kg. Cows 300-400kg sold
to 110c/kg and averaged 51c/kg.
Keddstock, Bookooi, Yuleba, sold Charolais cows to 139c for 570kg to return
$793 and 135c for 740kg to return $1000.
Kindee Pastoral Co sold Charolais-cross cows to 137c for 664kg to return $911.
P & K Timmins, Kerry, Mitchell, sold Santa cows to 130c for 592kg to return
$771.
Ravenswood Pastoral Co, Orange Downs, Barcaldine sold Droughtmaster cows
to 127c for 560kg to return $712.
D & S Wehl, Orange Downs, Barcaldine, sold Droughtmaster cows to 127c for
531kg to return $675.
Bulls over 600kg topped at 161c/kg and averaged 136c/kg.
