How Can I Work With Development? Faculty-Development collaboration is critical. This form details
ways we can work together, and provides a simple communication tool to share updates, alumni
information and opportunities to leverage your great work to advance development goals. Please fill out
this form in appropriate sections when you have an update or something to share.
Submission: attach this form to an email and send to Christian Gordon, Sr. Director of
Development at cmgordon@sfsu.edu.
Some of the things you can help us with:
Speaking Engagements. Giving a talk at an event that is open to the public? We can market it to our
alumni, and look for ways to make it a special experience for them. Have an interesting talk or
presentation? We can discuss creating an event around your talk targeted specifically to alumni.
Donor/Prospect Interactions. Traveling for a conference or other related event? Help us to cover more
geography and connect with our alumni around the country and world by partnering with Development.
We can plan an event, small group dinner, or meetings with donors and prospects around your existing
travel plans. Customizable to your comfort level and time restrictions.
Share an update. Have alumni information on department computers or just heard from a former student
about a new job? Share the information via this form with Development so we can keep our records up to
date. This helps in targeted marketing, small group event invites, and facilitating networking amongst
students and fellow alumni. You can also add exclusions for things you don’t want your connections
contacted about.
Gift Discussions/Negotiations. Share information about gifts or prospective gifts for follow up by
Development staff. Development staff will always contact you first for additional background and
guidance.
