High individuals on contest were: Tess Brannyon, Clayton Adams, Brody Andrews, and Parker Varnadoe. The Junior team won bags from the Georgia Cotton Commission. Junior/Senior/Volunteers Christmas Party: Back by popular demand – we will have our party at the Jackson EMC. Preregister by Monday, December 7th for our party on Tuesday, December 8th. Bring a covered dish and a 2-liter drink/tea and gift to exchange! Provide your own transportation or catch a ride with a 4-H friend or leader and meet us at 6:00pm. See the flyer for more details! Adopt A Highway: Another opportunity for clean-up of our roads will be Monday, December 14th. Meet at the Recreation Department shelter next to the Tennis Courts at 3:30. Please have someone to pick you up right at 4:30. Cloverleaf must have a parent present to participate. Junior / Senior District Project Achievement Portfolio Workshops and Deadlines - Call the 4-H Office to receive a packet to help out with this process required for Junior/Senior District Project Achievement competitors. Remember to keep a detailed record of all events that you have been involved in and ones that you are using for project sharing! Important portfolio dates to remember include: Project Declaration—now to ensure that you can have your project area of Madison County High School 4-H Robotics Team choice, The final copy of completed portfolio-December 18th. District Project to pay all their registration Achievement will be take place March 11th – 13th, 2016. Junior / Senior Showcase (Dress Rehearsal) has been scheduled for Monday, Feb. 29th, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Board of Education PLC 1 & 2. You need to fees for two district contests! Cloverleaf 4-H’ers will receive 5 points Challenge Bowl team for each activity of community service (donated food and/or toy) toward the Cloverleaf Reward Trip. (Let the 4-H staff placed 4th place at the know by a note from your parents that you donated to the school and we will give you credit for 4-H!) Georgia National Fair in Perry, GA. Shotgun: Practices started in November. The next practice will be: December 5th & 19th at Valley View Clay Facility, 1549 Veterans Drive in Danielsville at 1:00pm. MOAS P.A.W.S. -Trainers will continue on Sundays . 1:30 to 3:30 pm at Animal Shelter. If you would like to become a trainer, please call the 4-H Office at 706-795-2281. Horse Equestrian Drill Team - Interested members call the 4-H Office for details. They meet on Sundays from 2:00 - 4:30 p.m. The 14 member team has been set but they still need interested members to help with props, costumes, music, etc. Spring Livestock Shows: Make sure your form entries get in on time to the 4-H office. If you are showing at an upcoming livestock show, you need to make sure you request a classroom interruption no later than 2 weeks before the show. Robotics -The Robotics team is proud to have NASA, Georgia 4-H, MCHS, and Madison County 4-H as their sponsors. We are currently recruiting more sponsors that will help our team compete in February. We have a great year planned for 2016 with an important kick off trip taking place on January 9th at Georgia Technical College / and ending at another location (TBA).. We will continue to meet regularly in our workshop room 315 on Thursdays and will add more days as needed for our 6 week build period January – February.. Members work hands-on with Robot building, programming, marketing, and finances. Interested participant, in 8th – 12th grade, in becoming a part of Robotics may call the 4-H Office at 706-795-2281 for details. Horse Quiz Bowl – Cloverleaf, Junior and Senior students will continue to practice at the 4-H Office on Thursdays from 3:30 until 5:30. High School students will meet at the Café Patio weather permitting. During cold weather days or rain, we will meet in CATE career lobby. Cloverleaf Points -Take this 4-H newsletter home so your parents know what 4-H has to offer. Your goal this year is 90 points earned by April 25, 2016! Keep track of your points in your point pamphlet. This is your record to track points! Complete and clip the part with your parent’s signature - and return to your 4-H leaders at next club meeting to earn! Star Wars – Robotics is selling a chance to win 2 tickets to Star Wars movie on December 17, 2015 at 7:00 pm. The raffle tickets range from $20 to $30. Keep Madison County Beautiful is gearing up for our annual “Bring One for the Chipper” and we need to know who wants to host a site? Attention Cloverleaf 4-H’ers: You can earn 5 points by turning in a used live tree to the 4-H Recreation Department site and have you parents sign a note telling us which location and who you recycled the tree for! Junior and Senior 4-H’ers: call the 4-H office to sign up to help at this fun-filled community service project. The date for this event will be Saturday, January 2, 2016 from 10:00am-12:00pm. Pop Tabs: All year, we will be collecting pop tops and soda cans for the Ronald McDonald House charities. You can drop off your pop tops & cans at school club meeting or at the 4-H office. Just put them in a quart size Ziploc bag for 5 points or a gallon size—four quart -size bags for 10 points for Cloverleaf 4-Hers . Remember; get your friends, neighbors, and family involved! Drop these off at 4-H club meetings. Senior Wall Challenge 2016 Graduating Seniors: If you want to make sure that your legacy with 4-H continues even after you graduate. Your name can be placed on 2016 graduate Senior Wall for a fee. The 4-H Cloverleaf Cookie Contest and 4-H Youth and Adult Photo Contests are right around the corner. Find your favorite recipes and take some pictures! More contest info will be available at the January Meeting. Cloverleaf Camp: July 11 – 15, 2016 Wahsega 4-H Center: The oncenter activities will include weekly classes, crafts, hiking, swimming, sports, and competitions between the hillbilly clans. Junior Camp: June ,27 – July 1, 2016 Burton 4-H Center In addition to on-center activities,: includes a marsh trawl, Sea Turtle Center activity, Wilderness Survival Camp: June 6 – 10, 2016 Wahsega 4-H Center. Includes: Overnight caving trip and a whitewater rafting trip (these activities are confirmed).
