Saturday 11th October Harrow Men’s 1s vs. Henley Men’s 3s It was a warm sunny afternoon as HHC Men’s 1st team started to warm up. The whole team was thoroughly ready for this game following our 7-1 victory the previous week. We opened the game hard and fast putting pressure straight on Henley, within a few minutes we had them squeezed into their half. After some fantastic pressure from the midfielders and attackers, Govind Grewal managed to grab hold of a poor pass by the Henley defence. Having pretty much the whole D to himself, Govind managed to fire off a shot slamming into the top of the net leaving the goalkeeper stunned. 1-0 Harrow. Still keeping the pressure up, despite the heat of the sun Harrow managed to sneak a short corner not long after the first goal. A textbook routine allowed striker Nick lendon to touch the ball into the net after a strike from captain Tim Marshall. Throughout the first half, harrow managed to keep Henley supressed with strong periods of play. Despite this, Henley managed to sneak a ball through the middle of the pitch to a forward who managed to win a short corner. Unfortunately, they managed to convert this chance making it 2-1. Despite this, Harrow continued to push forward and some great long balls leading to Nick Lendon firing off a cross to Subra Naichipan who got a sneaky touch to put it into the net. 3-1 At half time. After some strong words from captain at half time about positional play, Harrow stepped out onto the pitch set and ready to lay down the law. However, Henley had also clearly had some 'helpful advice' from their captain and came out of the break fighting hard. despite their relentless attempts to attack, each time it was broken down by the midfield and defence, not giving Henley even a slither of hope. all the while, Harrow and been sliding in small counter atacks, testing the Henley defence. after some great attempts, Harrow managed to slot a goal in due to some great passand-move work down the left wing from Callum Redpath and James Pym, the ball got to Govind. taking it through a defender and passing the ball off, to find Nick Lendon to slam home the fourth.
