Dear Patients and Families, The past few years have seen many changes here at Tamalpais Pediatrics. From new doctors, staff and nurse practitioners to new offices and computer systems, we have grown, changed and worked to provide the best possible care for your children and family. This month brings yet another exciting change to our practice. As of February 1, 2013, Tamalpais Pediatrics has become a Clinical Associate of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine. We have always had an excellent relationship with our colleagues at UCSF, and now we will work more closely to expand ways to care for the children in our practice. We are working together to improve access to UCSF specialists should your children need this service. The next step is to share medical records between UCSF and Tamalpais Pediatrics, so that labs, notes, medications, allergies and other medical information will be available to the expanded care team when it is needed. You will also see more students and pediatricians-in-training in our office. All of us here at Tamalpais Pediatrics are looking forward to teaching and training the next generation of doctors and nurse practitioners. Soon, we will be introducing an interactive website with links to pediatric information and advice, a way to communicate with our office by email, and social media (Facebook, Twitter) that will help us get interesting and important information out to you as quickly as possible. Please take a look at our website at www.tamalpaispediatrics.com , and take a minute to sign up for email updates on the News page. With the UCSF relationship, there won’t be any change in our billing office or in the insurances that we accept. You may notice some co-insurance changes, especially if you have a high deductible health plan. There will not be any change in our relationship with HMO plans through the Meritage Medical Network (formerly Marin IPA), MediCal (Partnership Health) or Healthy Families. As always, please call our billing office if you have any questions. We want to assure you that we remain an independent and local pediatric practice. We will continue to see patients at Marin General Hospital, our patients will still be seen at the Pediatric After Hours Clinic, and we will use the same after hours advice nurse system. Our partnership with UCSF will enable us to continue to provide the highest quality care for your children. As always, we appreciate the trust you place in us and are happy that we can take care of your children and family. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about this or any suggestions for how we can improve our practice. Sincerely, Jan E. Maisel, MD, PhD John S. Lee, MD Erin N.
