Powell Gilbert takes top honours in 2013 Legal 500 Awards
Leading IP litigation firm named the UK’s ‘best specialist’ law firm within the
technology, media and telecoms arena
LONDON, 3 October 2013 – Leading intellectual property (IP) law firm Powell Gilbert has
come out on top as one of the UK’s best specialist law firms in this year’s Legal 500 Awards,
the firm announced today.
The firm beat stiff competition from other leading law firms working within the technology,
media and telecoms arenas to be announced the winner for its IP specialism.
In addition, the firm and its team have also been recognised as one of the UK’s best law
firms in the just released annual Legal 500 rankings. According to the influential guide,
Powell Gilbert boasts a ‘hands-on, creative and very supportive’ team which is ‘extremely
dedicated, with a clear focus on the needs of clients’. In addition, the firm’s patent litigators
were described as ‘excellent, technically well qualified, and very hardworking, with sound
judgement and strategic skills.’
Once again, the firm was highly ranked for intellectual property, pharmaceuticals and
biotechnology, and also ranked for its work in IT and telecoms. In addition to Partners Penny
Gilbert and Tim Powell being cited as ‘leading individuals’ within the IP arena, many of the
firm’s partners received glowing comments.
Today’s result comes just weeks after the firm announced that it had received a clutch of
wider industry accolades, such as the inclusion of Tim Powell and Penny Gilbert in the firstever Chambers 100 and the firm achieving top ranking for UK Patent Litigation in Managing
IP’s IP Handbook and the IAM Patent 1000, among others.
