Davis Technology Graduate Assistant Application Fall 2014/Spring 2015/Summer 2015 Becoming a Davis College of Business Graduate Assistant is a high honor. To qualify for an appointment as a Davis Technology Graduate Assistant, you must have a solid scholastic record, a strong undergraduate background in your major field, and for foreign students must have demonstrated evidence of a high level of English proficiency. The assistantships will be merit based and granted to students who have excelled academically, can provide outstanding letters of recommendation, and have basic technology skills. Requirements: All applicants must be at least conditionally admitted as potential graduate degree candidates in order to be considered for appointments. Criteria: Strong candidates will: have a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA in their undergraduate work have a competitive GMAT or GRE score The minimum technological skills the Davis Technology Graduate Assistants should have: Comfortable with learning and demonstrating new technologies Have above average skills in the Microsoft Office programs Can work independently on technology projects Examples of what the Davis Technology Graduate Assistants would help with: Help with keeping up the technology library. Help faculty making videos and do some basic video editing. Help faculty go paperless Award: Normally the assistantship awards will be somewhere between one third and one half of the student’s tuition. Awards will be granted to maximize the benefit of both the students and the Graduate Programs. The Graduate Assistants will be responsible for paying the balance of their tuition and their assistantship will continue into the next semester only if their account is in good standing. Graduate Assistants must maintain at least a B (3.0) average and will be required to work a total of 150 hours per Fall and Spring 8 week terms and 80 hours per Summer 8 week terms for the Davis College of Business on technology related projects that support the needs of the College. Should any Assistant fall below the GPA requirements or otherwise lapse in good standing within the program, the award will be revoked and the student will be responsible for the full tuition in the next semester and thereafter.
