SENIOR INFORMATION APPLYING TO COLLEGE Technical school and college-bound seniors should apply to the schools of their choice HOURS: 7:15-3:15 (Applying to College Continued) early in the fall; hopefully during the months of October and November. Applications should be submitted on-line. Once the application has been submitted, students will need to go to the Student Services Office to complete a “Transcript Request Form” so Student Services can send an “Official Transcript”. An official transcript means that a sealed and signed transcript is sent directly from the Student Services Office to the selected college. Letters of recommendation and a student profile can be attached to the transcript if required. Last year, Preble’s Student Services Office processed nearly 2700 transcripts and applications, so please allow ten school days to prepare these materials. COLLEGE GOAL WISCONSIN Families who need help completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) can attend a free program on Wednesday, February 24, at 6pm, at the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (2740 W Mason Street). For more information visit: www.wicollegegoalwi.org. JUNIOR/SENIOR INFORMATION ACT/SAT 2015 - 2016 TEST DATES ACT and SAT test dates and registration deadlines can be located in the Student Services website. Scholarship opportunities are also listed in the Students Services website and by going to the Green Bay Public School’s website: http://www.gbaps.org/Students/Pages/defaul t.aspx under the heading “Student Resources tab down to “Scholarship Guide 20152016”. Follow all scholarship deadlines and provide 7-10 school days for the Student Services Office to process these applications if a high school transcript is needed. JUNIOR/PARENT/COUNSELOR MEETINGS Parents and guardians of juniors will meet with their school counselors to review transcripts and discuss post high school plans. These are called an Individual Planning Conference or IPC. These conferences will assist parents and their students to prepare for their future whether they are going into the work world, military, technical, or four-year colleges. This will be a great opportunity for parents and juniors to start planning their senior year and beyond. Questions will be answered and resource materials will be available. If you have not done so, please call 391-2402 to schedule your Individual Planning Conference.
