Division of Student Life Graduate Assistant Hate and Bias Prevention Initiatives Start Date: November 23, 2015 (estimated) End Date: June 30, 2016 (Possible renewal) Salary: $12.00 per hour (10-15 hours per week) Requirements: Must be a current graduate student at UW-Madison Must have experience with social justice training and curriculum development Some experience with marketing and outreach Experience working with marginalized populations, such as students of color, religious minorities, and LGBTQ+ populations Principal duties: As a member of the Hate and Bias Response team, the graduate assistant will report to the chair of the committee, currently the Assistant Dean of Students and Director of the Multicultural Student Center. The graduate assistant will support the efforts of the committee in creating education and awareness of hate and bias on the UW-Madison campus. Some specific duties include: Create educational initiatives for hate and bias reporting system Create print, electronic, and non-traditional marketing materials Measure success of outreach and educational initiatives Assist with creating workshops and educational videos Create new methods to encourage students to report hate and bias Build relationships with those most effected by hate and bias Assist with creating reports of incidents Manage event logistics such as reserving rooms and ordering supplies Creating meetings and taking notes for the committee For additional information or to apply please send a resume and cover letter to joshua.johnson@wisc.edu.
