Background
I have undertaken translation work since completing my degree in French and Italian
at London University in 1986, and work from these languages and Spanish into
English. The main technical areas I have worked in have been manufacturing,
medical, and chemical, but I have worked on an extremely wide range of topics.
I have worked since 1997 as a writer/editor for leading publishing companies such
as Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, and Macmillan, and so am
accustomed to working to the highest standards while meeting tight deadlines.

Italian
1987–90 Worked for Agostini and Soget translation agencies in Milan. Translations
covered many technical and general fields, with 50% for motor and chemical
industries
1989–90 Taught at Scuola Superiore per Interpreti e Traduttori (School for
Interpreters and Translators), Milan
French
1990–91 Worked for CFEB translation agency in Paris, mostly technical translation
for Motorola.
Spanish
1990–92 Worked for local import–export companies and for Word Works translation
agency in Madrid on wide range of technical materials
