Toastmasters of [Your City, County] Announces Free Speech Contest
[place] [date] – Members of the [club name] will compete on [date] in Toastmasters International’s
annual spring speech contest.
This year’s event has two parts. The first, International Speech,
features inspirational speaking in which contestants have five to seven minutes to present a speech
that uplifts one’s spirit. The winner of this event has the opportunity to progress to the International
Speech contest held in August in Orlando, Florida. The second part is the Evaluation contest, where
contestants listen to a speech and are then judged on their two to three minute evaluation of it.

division governor]. “And this spring’s competition gives contestants a fun way of using all the public
speaking skills they’ve learned through Toastmasters in a supportive environment. You’ll witness
