II SCOPE This procedure instructs how to prepare a humidifier stand so that the piglets are kept in an environment with appropriate temperature and humidity regulation. III RESPONSIBILITIES It is the responsibility of Metabolic Assessment Laboratory personnel to follow this procedure. It is the responsibility of supervisory personnel to ensure compliance with this procedure and to train employees and students responsible for performing this procedure. Description of Humidifier Stand IX.A.1. The humidifier stands are made of plastic pipe (30 inches high, 15 inches wide 15 inches deep) with a plexi-glass shelf on the top and bottom. IX.A.2. IX.B.4. Use a clean pipe cleaner to clean diffuser spout. IX.C. Reassemble and Start the Humidifier IX.C.1. Place one humidifier on the top shelf and second humidifier on the bottom shelf. IX.C.2. Fill the humidifier on the bottom shelf with distilled water first being careful to not fill above the maximum fill line.
