Basic Mission Giving
Basic Mission Giving is the fulfillment of your church’s annual pledge to support the mission
budget of your presbytery, synod and General Assembly. Your pledge conforms to the formula
designated by your church session. Be sure to enter the dollar amount total.
Presbyterian World Mission (General Assembly)
A portion of your congregation’s Basic Mission Support may be directed to specific projects.
Download the current catalog (2015-2016) Presbyterian World Mission Giving Opportunities at
www.presbyterianmission.org/ministries/world-mission. You may also order a free copy of the
2015-2016 Presbyterian Giving Catalog at the church store (link below) or by phone to the
Presbyterian Distribution Service at (800) 524-2612. Please provide specific information as

Special Offerings and other Special Gifts
The four special offerings of the PC(USA):
One Great Hour of Sharing (Easter/Palm Sunday). This offering of gifts for those in need has
been part of the Presbyterian Church for over 50 years.
Christmas/Joy gifts are for special needs, racial-ethnic schools and minority youth education.
Peacemaking (World Communion Sunday) gifts assist church peacemaking efforts at all levels.
Congregations are encouraged to keep 25% for their own peacemaking, 25% is used at
the presbytery level and 50% is forwarded to GA for the Presbyterian Peacemaking
Program (both sent to presbytery).
Pentecost Offering (Pentecost Sunday) nurtures the faith of youth/young adults. Congregations
are encouraged to keep 40% of this offering; the remaining 60% sent to presbytery is GA’s
share for children at risk, youth and young adult ministries.
Other special gifts are the:
Presbyterian Hunger Fund supports the Presbyterian Hunger Program.
Theological Education Fund (1% Plan) supports seminaries and minister education.
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance enables compassionate response to emergency needs.
