Our Presenters
Thomas Bell Tom Bell began his career at Kansas Hospital
Association in 1986 as Vice President and legal counsel. He
became President of KHA in January 2005. Mr. Bell is a
graduate of Washburn University School of Law in Topeka,
KS. He is a member of the Kansas Bar Association; the
American Health Lawyers Association; and the Kansas Society
of Association Executives.
Gary Doolittle, MD received his undergraduate degree from
Pittsburg State University in and his Medical Degree from the
University of Kansas School of Medicine. He completed his
residency
in
Internal
Medicine
and
fellowship
in
Hematology/Oncology at the University of Kansas Medical
Center. He is an active member of the American College of
Physicians, the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO),
the American Society of Hematology (ASH) and the American
Telemedicine Association (ATA).

Symposium
Brenda Edwards is a Coding and Compliance Specialist with
Kansas Medical Mutual Insurance Company. She has over 20
years experience in medical billing, coding, compliance and
education. She has taught medical coding under the
Professional Medical Coding Curriculum (through AAPC) and cofounded the Northeast Kansas American Academy of
Professional Coders local chapter.
Andrew Godwin, PhD
is a professor of pathology and
laboratory medicine and director of molecular oncology at the
University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Godwin, earned his
bachelor of science degree in cellular biology from the University
of Kansas before going on to earn a PhD in molecular biology
from the University of Pennsylvania.
Jennifer Klemp, PhD received a master’s degree in public
health and a doctorate of clinical psychology from the University
of Kansas. She is an assistant professor in the Department of
Internal Medicine. Dr. Klemp is the Associate Director of the
Breast Cancer Survivorship Center. Dr. Klemp provides genetic
counseling for the Breast Cancer Prevention and Survivorship
centers.
Raechele McMahan earned her Bachelors of Science degree in
Health Services Administration from the University of Central
Florida and a Masters of Business Administration with a focus in
Health Care from the University of Phoenix. She is currently the
Vice President of Specialty Pharmacy Programs for Prime
Therapeutics.
