Teach basic tennis rules (15 min)
Teach Forehand unit (13 min)
 Demonstrate the correct Forehand grip and technique
 Students will shadow me without hitting balls
 Student pair up with a partner. The partner tosses the ball to the other student to
practice hitting Forehands using the proper technique
Pick up all the balls (2min)
Oral assessment as a group: name the parts of the rackets (2 min)

 Students will shadow me without hitting balls
 Student pair up with a partner. The partner tosses the ball to the other student to
practice hitting Forehand Volleys using the proper technique
Teach Backhand Volleys (8 min)
 Demonstrate the correct grip and technique
 Students will shadow me without hitting balls
 Student pair up with a partner. The partner tosses the ball to the other student to
practice hitting Backhand Volleys using the proper technique
Combination of Forehand and Backhand volleys: (10 min)

Students rally back and forth practicing Forehand and Backhand volleys, close to
the net making sure they hit the ball before it bounces.
Students rally back and forth using the whole court using Forehands, Backhands, and
Volleys. (20 min)

 Demonstrate the correct grip and technique
 Students will shadow me without hitting balls
Students will practice serves on individually (15 min)
 Students will practice the their toss against the fence
 Students will practice the serves into the correct area box
