Santé, the Magazine for Restaurant Professionals
Associate Editor
Santé is a small trade publication for restaurant professionals that is published nine times per year with a
circulation list of over 55,000, and is read by more than 200,000 people per issue. As Associate Editor, I
was in charge of an eight-page front of the book section called Stirrings, which lists events, small articles,
calendar listings and restaurant happenings. I was also in charge of the Food, Wine and Spirits review
section that accounts for 20 pages in the back of the magazine. I reviewed, with a tasting panel of
between 10 and 15 people, food, wine and spirits; wrote and edited all reviews; researched and solicited
all products for review; wrote introductions for each review section; and located and compiled any
missing product information in an orderly fashion for the design and production department. In addition
to these duties, I participated in regular editorial staff meetings, routinely edited, provided copy edits and
proofread all stories and reviews prior to layout and publishing. I also received and completed small and
feature story assignments, assisted in coming up with story ideas for future articles, helped layout
editorial calendars and traveled to industry events and participated in work trips.
