Entry form completely filled and signed 2. Group picture & biography 3. Video clip or links to online video clips RULES AND JUDGING CRITERIA STAGE RULES 1. The performance area will be 12 x 12 Feet. Please follow these guidelines when preparing your routine. Please plan transitions accordingly. We will not, in anyway, alter the performance area to fit a specific routine. 2. The format of your routine will be the standard forward audience set up. Judges and audience will be positioned in front of you. You must configure your routine to receive maximum points. 3. There will be no backdrops allowed (i.e. curtains and walls) however SMALL props such as chairs, canes, stools, etc. are allowed given they do not block any audience member from seeing any portion of the performance. PERFORMANCE RULES 1. Stage/Dance floor will be placed in the front of the venue. 2. Absolutely nothing can be deliberately thrown or sprayed into the audience. Equally, nothing can be thrown from the audience to the performers during the routine. If the incident is confirmed, there will be a mandatory five (5) point deduction. Items do not have to pose a danger to receive the deduction. 3. Any item left after a performance MUST be cleared before score is official. 4. There is a maximum 5-minute time limit to routines. We will not cutoff your music, however, there will be a Half (3) point deduction your routine exceeds 5 minutes (300 seconds). Time check begins at the start of your music and ends once your music or routine stops (whichever comes first). 5. NO TOLERANCE for drug and alcohol use during the entire day of the event. None of your team members can APPEAR to be intoxicated (red eyes, stumbling, erratic behavior, or body odor). Each category has a different weight to the total score. The weight of the given category is represented in its maximum points allowed i.e. execution with a total 10 point maximum is the most weighted score. Each score is counted; no score is thrown out for averaging purposes. The team with the highest total score wins! Winner takes all. Below is an explanation of each judging criteria. The judge’s scores are final. Execution (Maximum 10 points): This score will be based on smooth transitions during formation changes; overall synchronization of the group; and execution of dance elements. This score will be used as the secondary tie breaker. Originality and Style (Maximum 10 points): This score will be based on the originality of the choreography. Judges will base their score on the originality of dance moves and transitions. Difficulty (Maximum 10 points): This score will be based on the execution of moves, within the routine, that carry a difficult characteristic or element, back flips, lifts, B Boy/B Boy elements, original choreography to music changes, etc. Overall Crowd Appeal (Maximum 50 points): This score involves the interaction of the routine with the audience. This score is a measure of sound levels for audience appreciation. Appearance (Maximum 10 points): Although there is no costume requirement, the score will reflect the attire worn during the performance and its incorporation to the music and style of the routine. Bonus (Maximum 10 points): This score will be used to award points for criteria not categorized above and it will represent the judges’ sole appreciation of the total routine. This score will also be used as the primary tie-breaker. INSURANCE Performer warrants and represents that it has, or shall obtain, sufficient personal injury and property damage liability insurance with respect to the activities of Performer at the Place of Performance. Y2Y will not be liable for any selfinduced injury based on performance. CANCELLATION If Performer provides written notice of cancellation of this Agreement to the Performance Contact at the address listed above, by the following dates, the Performer shall promptly take the following actions: Date Performer provides written notice of cancellation. Action required At least 5 days before the Date of Performance. Performer must pay a cancellation fee of $50. The obligation of the Performer shall be excused by detention of key personnel by sickness, accident, riot, strike, epidemic, act of God, Force Majure or any other legitimate condition beyond the control of the obliged Party. If such circumstances arise in the case of Performer, Performer shall, at its discretion, obtain replacement personnel, or shall pay cancellation fee to Y2Y. If such circumstances arise in the case of Performer, Performer shall, at its discretion, obtain a reasonably similar replacement venue available on the Date of Performance, or shall comply with the notice of cancellation provisions described herein. Neither Party shall be liable for indirect, special or consequential damages arising from any breach of this Agreement. I have read and agree to all terms as written in this Agreement.
