THIS IS A REMINDER THAT ALL VISITORS AND GUESTS to Nathan Hale High School must check in at the main office
beforehand and wear a visitor’s badge. If you notice anybody that does not attend Nathan Hale, please report this to a
teacher, security, administration or staff member of the school. It is highly important in helping to keep our campus safe for
everyone. Once again we appreciate staff/students in helping to keep a watchful eye in our hallways throughout the school
day.

attendance office.
DO YOU HAVE A LOVE FOR THE LIME LIGHT? DO YOU HAVE A VOICE FOR THE THEATRE? Then you should host Mr. Nathan
Hale! Hosting contracts are available in the main office and counseling office and should be turned into him by February
12th. Auditions for hosting will be held in the Performing Arts Center on February 9th at 3:30.
SENIORS, ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT BECOMING A TEACHER? There is a scholarship for YOU, ranging from $900 $1,500. Some are renewable on a yearly basis. Go to: www.wssra.org and apply for this scholarship sponsored by the
Washington State School Retirees Associate.
ARE YOU A SENIOR INTERESTED IN STUDYING MEDICINE IN COLLEGE or would like to witness cutting edge research in
action? Then you will definitely want to sign up for a field trip to Seattle Children’s cancer research on February 17th. We will
talk about how to become successful in achieving your career in medicine and get to meet scientists. See where your interests
can lead you. It’s strictly for 18 years old or above. Pick up an application from Mr. Feigal-Stickles class in Room 1127. There is
limited space so sign up ASAP. For more info talk to Kelebet Engida.
AND NOW A MESSAGE FROM THE CLIMATE JUSTICE CLUB: Transporting Valentine’s Day flowers from South American &
other distant locations will produce nearly 20 million pounds of C02. Why not share your love—and your love for the planet—
by joining the Climate Justice Club in making earth-friendly valentine’s in Teacher Ted’s Room, Friday February 12th, during
lunch? Expect contests, prizes, and treats!
FREE AFTER-SCHOOL ULTIMATE CAMP this coming Monday, February 8 thru Friday, February 12, 3:30-5:30pm, on the Hale
football turf. Just show up for any or all of the days. Please get there early. This camp will be run by the captains and players of
Hale Girl's Ultimate. Coaches will be there to supervise and provide safe plans for each day of the week, but not to coach. (per
WIAA rules - coach run practices cannot start until Feb 29th.) Each day of camp will include drills and specific strategies that
we will be focusing on for the season, so if you feel a little bit nervous about tryouts and ultimate in general this will be a
perfect intro to the season! BRING: a light and a dark jersey/shirt, cleats if you have them, a water bottle and clothes that will
keep you warm and dry! Try to avoid cotton on rainy days! This camp is completely FREE! The coaches just wanted to provide
an opportunity for people to come learn, play some Frisbee and meet everybody before our official start date on February
29th (more info on tryouts and the season will come later). If you have questions, e-mail Amanda Kostic at

BOYS LACROSSE ANNUAL KICK OFF MEETING - Wednesday Feb. 10 - 7:00-8:30pm in the Commons. Mandatory meeting for
players and parents. Meet the coaches, learn about the upcoming season, volunteer opportunities and finalize registration.
Snacks and drinks will be provided. TO REGISTER for the upcoming season, go to http://nathanhale.usl.la/ If you have trouble
registering, email Tara with questions: tara@tipsyrunner.com. Registration closes on Monday, Feb 8th, which is when
payment is due.
JOIN GIRLS LACROSSE! Captain practices are every Monday and Wednesday at 3:30 on the Jane Addams turf. Be a part of the
fastest growing sport on the west coast.
ALL ATHLETES INTERESTED IN BEING A PART OF THE 2016 TRACK & FIELD TEAM, please be at the informational meeting on
Wednesday, February 10th in the commons at 3:15pm. Meet the coaches and captains, grab important paperwork, and hear
all things related to Nathan Hale Track & Field. Any questions, see Coach Stidham.
LOOK OUT FOR CLASS OF 2019'S CANDY GRAMS in the AC at lunch! Send a bag of candy to someone for $2!
HEY RAIDERS! COME JOIN US FOR A FUN MOVIE NIGHT for drug and alcohol facts week! We will be watching Inside Out on
February 11th from 5:30 – 8:00pm in the Benson Forum. There will be pizza, popcorn, and fun games. See you there!
TEACHER/STAFF APPRECIATION EVENT - FRIDAY, FEB 12TH. Parents and Guardians - The Community Organization of Nathan
Hale will be hosting sweet treats for Valentine's Day for our teachers and staff, next Friday, Feb 12th. We are asking families
to bring a treat such as cookies, brownies, candy, Rice Krispie bars, chocolates, cupcakes or fresh fruit to the main office next
Friday morning. If you are able to bring a treat please let Trish Twomey know at trishjim206@gmail.com. Thanks! If you have
a dish you need returned please put your name on it and it will be put in the main office Friday afternoon for you to pick up.
