PART IV – Project Proposal
Part IV is where you are to expand on information provided in Part I as applicable, and provide new
information where necessary. See Information for Funding Applicants at www.fwcp.ca for information on how
to prepare and compile your funding application, including a 6-page (max) project proposal, supporting
documents (e.g. letters of supports, credentials) AND a project budget (to be submitted on the excel
spreadsheet available at www.fwcp.ca).
PROJECT PROPOSAL FORMAT (Maximum length is six (6) pages.)
a. Introduction and Background (provide a map of the project area and how it relates to the
surrounding area).
b. Methods and Approach.
c. Deliverables.
d. Value-added Criteria (e.g. community outreach, co-funding partnerships, in-kind contributions
and volunteer involvement).
e. Risks and Benefits: include a statement of the risk of potential negative impacts and potential
positive benefits on no-target environmental components (fish, wildlife and habitats) and
heritage resources.
f. Performance Measures: define the performance measures of your project and how they will be
reported.
g. Past Projects: provide examples of recent, relevant projects implemented (maximum of 3
projects), and include contact information.
[Note: “a.” through “g” not to exceed six pages in total.]
h. Literature Cited: include any literature cited in the preparation of your proposal and include
hyperlinks to documents within proposal.
i. Multi-year Projects Only: include a summary of prior year’s work and the progress made to date
on the project.
j. Credentials and Qualifications: submit a credentials and/or qualifications page (e.g. resume) for
each key project personnel involved (e.g. project manager, lead biologist, site supervisor,
contractors, etc.). A maximum of one page per person.

PART V – Supporting Documentation
1.
Letters of Support
Letters of support are mandatory in FWCP-Coastal. These letters should:
1. be signed, dated the same year as the funding application and be on letterhead if applicable;
2. demonstrate an understanding of the project; and
3. be included with the funding application by the deadline. Letters of support received after the
deadline will not be accepted.
Letters of support from the following will be considered in the review process:
1. The First Nation whose territory the project is located in.
2. The agency(ies) who have regulatory authority over the management of the target species (e.g.
Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Canadian Wildlife Services, BC Ministry of Forests,
Lands and Natural Resource Operations, etc.).
3. A private, public or community organization that is independent of the proponent that may be
directly affected.
1. Safety and Environmental Plans
Applicants are to identify if the project work is on land owned, operated or controlled by BC Hydro. If so,
safety plans will be required prior to project initiation. In addition, these projects may also require an
Environmental Management Plan to be submitted to and approved by BC Hydro prior to project initiation.
