OUR STORY.
The Abundant Table (501c3) started as a campus
ministry of the Episcopal Church at California State
University, Channel Islands in 2004. Based in a
semi-agricultural and semi-urban context, the
Abundant Table eventually evolved into a
Christian-based organization engaging people from
the university and wider community in a mission to
transform our food system towards increased
health for people and the planet.
In 2009, we started the Abundant Table Farm
Project (ATFP), a one to two year Episcopal Service
Corps internship for young adults (ages 21 to 30) to
work on an organic farm (Join the Farm!), live in
intentional community and engage in social justice.
The ATFP mission seeks to change lives and
systems by creating sustainable relationships to the
land and local community.
Join the Farm! first stared in 2006 on the
DeBusschere Farm in Hueneme, down the road
from CSUCI. Currently we are farming in Santa
Paula. The farm is operated under The Abundant
Table. In addition to our growing CSA (community
supported agriculture) program that offers a fresh
share of our weekly seasonal harvest to families
throughout the county, we are also growing
vegetables for the Ventura Unified and Conejo
Valley School Districts through our
farm-to-school partnership, and are
continuing to seek opportunities to
partner with schools and churches to
provide nutrition education classes,
farm visits, cooking demonstrations,
and meals to share. Our work is rooted
in spirituality, community, and the land
that feeds us all.

Opportunities at join the farm!
We have been working hard to set up
the farm at our new site in Santa
Paula, and are excited to re-launch
our volunteer program. We invite you
to come out to the field and work with
us, connecting to the land and taking
part in the movement toward
sustainable, organic agriculture. Here
are some ways to connect:
 Open volunteer days are
Tuesday, Wednesday,
and Thursday from
8am to 3pm
 Take part in fieldwork like
weeding, harvesting, and
packing CSA boxes.
 Visit us on your own or
with friends. We are also
happy to coordinate group
service visits, too!
What to Bring: a hat,
sunscreen, comfortable work
clothes and shoes, snacks, and a
reusable bottle of water!

corner of Telegraph and Briggs
Roads in Santa Paula.
From Ventura/Oxnard take 126
East to Santa Paula. Exit Briggs
and turn Left. Enter through the
main gate of the Hansen Trust
Ag. Center (on the left side).
