You can access Angel through the portal page or start at www.sanjuancollege.edu. Click on SJC Portal off to the far right. This will bring you to a log in page. Coursework: The text book is organized as a workbook with 13 different units. Each one of these units has several frames and exercise sets through the Unit and a self-test at the end. You will be required to complete the problems in the exercise sets (only) and self-tests (answers are provided in the back of the book) and turn in. Once the exercise sets and self-test is completed for a unit, you are ready to go online to take the test for that unit. You do not need to do the supplementary exercises. There is no special format for the assignments, only that all work needs to be shown for credit. There will be a comprehensive final at the end of the course. Turning in Completed Exercise Sets and Self-Tests: Homework consists of the exercise sets and self-tests for the 13 units. Students are required to turn these in approximately 2 days after the deadline for the exam on that unit. Students can either bring the homework up to room 1640 and place in my box (above the SJC bookstore) Mon-Fri, 8am-5:00pm, mail it, or fax it. If mailed, the envelope must be postmarked no more than 2 days past the deadline for that exam. The calculator cannot be used for the first 3 chapters, make sure to show all computation. After chapter 3, the setup to a problem must be shown but it will be understood that the computations can be done on the calculator. The calculator cannot is not allowed for the first 3 exams. Testing: There are online exams for all units except unit 12. Exams are released by date. There are very strict deadlines for exam taking. If an exam deadline has passed, you will receive a zero on that exam, but may continue and take the other exams. The exam deadlines are in a folder with all other course documents or also at www.sanjuancollege.edu/cbaade. If you are not happy with your score, you may retake an exam before the deadline. You are allowed to take an exam up to 2 times, with different problems generated the second time. You must wait 30 minutes before you can retake an exam. Angel will record the highest exam. Exams will have either 20 or 25 multiple choice questions. Final Exam: The final exam is a proctored exam. Local students will take their exam at SJC’s Testing Center(www.sanjuancollege.edu/test). These students will need to schedule their own final exam by calling an appointment the Testing Center @ 566-3139 or 566-3329. The hours are Monday through Saturday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The allotted time for the final is 2 hours, therefore last appointment they will accept is 2:30 PM. The final exam can be taken any time after the unit exams are taken. The final must be taken no later than May 3rd . The final exam is a comprehensive exam. There will be 40 questions on the final exam. Unlike the other exams, you only get one chance on the final. Once you have completed the final, you are done with the course! Bring only a scientific calculator(no graphing calculator) and pencils to the final exam.
