Travelling Book Company
The Travelling Book Company came to school this week. The books we sold came to a total of
£493 which meant we were able to get £235 worth of free books for our school library. Thank
you to everyone for your support and a big thank you to Mrs Phythian, Mrs Holmes and our
student, Miss David for their help in running the Book Club.
Nottingham Boys’ Choir
Nottingham Boys’ Choir is a weekly rehearsing choir for boys aged six and over. They want to
increase the size of the choir and wondered if anyone might be interested. If you are, please
email Philip Hawker at philip.hawker@live.co.uk. You can also take a look at their website:
www.nottinghamboyschoir.co.uk.
Sporting Achievements
Four children from years 3 and 4 competed in the District Finals in Tennis and played incredibly
well. We came fourth out of many teams and therefore are one of the top teams in the district.
Our year 6 boys football team played East Bridgford last Friday night in a semi-final match and
won 4-1. They are now through to the Area Finals and will play during the first week after halfterm. Last night the same team played in Wollaton and unfortunately lost 2-1 in yet another
semi-final match. We wish them luck in their future matches.
Tesco Fund Raising
Thank you to all the children and parents who helped pack shopping bags at Tesco in Carlton.
You helped to raise £460 for Diabetes UK!
KS2 Sports Day
Just a reminder that it is KS2 Sports Day on Thursday 5 June at 9.30 am. We hope to see as
many of you as possible cheering on our amazing sports stars. There will be tea and coffee
available. Let’s hope the weather is kind to us!
‘Wear Your Own Clothes’ Day
A huge thank you to you all who have made a donation to our school funds today. We raised
£120 which will go towards new playtime equipment for all of the children. The school council will
decide, after half-term, how we will spend the money.
Grandparents’ Morning
Again, just a reminder about our hugely successful Grandparents’ Morning on Thursday 12 June at
10 am. There will be an opportunity for our Grandparents to join in with activities with their
grandchildren and they will also be able to relax with a cup of tea or coffee. We love to hear their
stories of how schools were in their day.
