She placed as fourth runner up and received a $3,000 scholarship in the Miss Michigan pageant. Porrett qualified for the Miss Michigan contest by winning the title of Miss Kalamazoo County last year. Carter joins the Broncos after spending the last two seasons at Fairfield University in Fairfield, Conn., and the 2003-06 seasons at Michigan State. He is also well versed in the Michigan AAU scene after coaching current Broncos Michael Redell and David Kool while working with the Michigan Mustangs from 2000-03 and 2006.
