Welcome back – for a chat, a cuppa and some fun table games
27 April
We will be entertained by the U3A Folk Singing Group
11 May
County Council Speaker on The Care Act and Carer’s Assessments
Nicki Smith from Herts County Council will be speaking about the right to a Carer’s
Assessment that the new Care Act introduced in April this year.
This meeting is open to all carers – please join us to hear about these
important changes to the law for carers. (Rearranged from February)
1 June
Fish and Chips lunch. Our meals will be delivered to Wm Crook House
15 June
Creative summer planting. Bring along an unusual container or a recycled item
(tins, old shoes, teapots, bowls, cups …) and plant herbs or flowers for your
windowsill. There will be a prize for the most unusual container! Compost, seeds
and plants will be provided. We’ll have some spare containers too.
29 June
‘Nostalgia’ – we’ll play the game that recalls the 60s, 70s and 80s
13 July
Strawberry Afternoon Tea – we’ll be joined by Wm Crook residents. Our way to
thank them for the use of their lounge for our group meetings
Dates for Carers’ Outings Please be assured that we have arranged visits so people with
limited mobility can still take part. There are cafes and/or dry places to sit just a short walk from
where we park or drop you off (we use a Blue Badge). Minibuses have a tail lift so there is easy
access to and from the vehicle. Please dress appropriately for the day’s weather.
Thurs 21 May - Capel Manor Gardens. 11.30am pick up at Gadebridge Park and Ride,
returning by 4.30 pm. £10 for garden entry fee and minibus costs.
Mon 27 July - Hitchin Lavender Fields. 1 pm pick up at Gadebridge Park and Ride, returning
by 5.30 pm. £10 for tour and minibus. Our guided tour will be at 3 pm and will take 90 mins.

TRING & BERKHAMSTED Carers’ Support Group
DATES FOR SPRING & SUMMER 2015
The group is open to any carer who would like to attend. If it is your first meeting,
please call Anne or Jo first so we know you’re coming and can make you
welcome. We would be glad to pick you up and bring you to your first meeting.
When there are walks or outings please be assured that we always arrange these so that
people with limited mobility can still take part. There are cafes and/or dry, safe, places to sit a
short walk from where we park or drop you off.

Musical bingo – test your musical knowledge with this fun game
4 June
Let’s go fly a kite! Trip to Dunstable Downs for a walk, kite flying and
refreshments in the Visitors’ Centre. Meet at Pond Close at 10 am, returning by 1
pm. We’ll go in cars.
2 July
An early summer picnic lunch at Pond Close. This meeting will finish at 1 pm.
