River: "Cur... Current?" River couldn't believe it. She snatched the flyer from Leif's hands. She scrutinized the paper more closely. "You're right..." she wispered. She looked up from the paper with a light in her eyes. Her teal eyes glistened in the sun. "Leif," she said, "what are the chances that this is my brother?" Current listened to the conversation with intrest. He nodded his head back to the acknowledgment. "Can i help sort something out?" he asked. Current got a better view of the strangers. One of them seemed to be somewhat familiar. Current tried to think but no answer came up. He absent mindedly let it go and focused on the strangers. (ahh, i was able to get back on but too late ^^; oh well, tomorrow the fonts helps me a lot and looks cool and by the way, the changing of ) Moyashi: (Whoot we've made 100 pages!!) Niika: ~continues staring at fire blankly~ Moyashi: ~frustrated about her immobile arm~ damn thing... The sunlight dimmed as the moon rose up in the sky. In the dimming sky, stars flickered into life. The twilight seemed perfect until dark storm clouds rolled in, covering the brightly lit stars and the beautiful full moon. Rain started to pour down and the waves at the ports were becoming terrifying. And the storm had just only begun. Letiel: Celahir: *picks his way through the forest, tracking the group* Conar: *kneeling by Soren's body, healing it* Moyashi: Niika: ~still staring at fire blankly~It's not going to work... ~she says in a monotone voice to the silence~ Moyashi: ~gives up on arm and goes over to Conar to see if...to finalize the death~ Letiel: Conar: *still healing Soren* Xiomara: Leif bounced excitedly, "It doesn't hurt to be certain." He swiveled his head side to side for the older adolescent, "He could still be around! Let's look!" "Leif?" Kite recoiled upon the immediate recollection of the irritating light-haired companion to his offender. "He isn't worth anything to risk your hide for!" he acknowledged the newcomer tersely before returning his attention towards Xiomara. Xiomara simpered, "I had to return a favor," her buoyant voice adopted an edge when she added, "but that shouldn't be of your concern." 'Does everyone always need to hold these ridiculously heavy secrets?' Kite was inwardly startled by the stranger's abrupt change in demeanor, but masterfully concealed it under his indifferent scowl. 'What's the point of keeping them?' He shifted his weight to his left foot and noted that they were nearly the same height. Xiomara averted to Current, "Are you looking for your sister?" She withdrew a copy of the advertisement from her coat pocket, "I know her. She's become an annoying addition to this burden I bear." (Thank you! I'm glad they were legible enough to decipher. Where did you download the colors HTML for your posts? I've been having trouble with finding decent sites for particular tints.) River: River nodded, still a bit in shock. She ran after Leif and scanned around for Current. "Current?!" she called. Hope filled her teal eyes. Current blinked. "Y...yes," he said a bit surprised. He was even about to hand them both a flyer. "Where is she?" he asked in a serious tone. (i just go to the 'full screen reply' and they have codes you type/ or copy and paste and ta da! colors :3 hehe it is built in this website Xiomara: (Thanks. short post. Ciao!) same page as the smileyfaces and spam icon things XD ) I'll see to it later today, but I must get off with this "I don't know," Xiomara's simper broadened at his astounded response. "I merely stated that I was aware of her existence," she pulled her silken bandana over her eyes to block out the strident sunlight. Kite watched her withdraw towards the trees with faint alarm, "You can't walk in there blindfolded! Are you out of your mind?" He rubbed his temples, frustrated, "Where are you going anyways?" "Oh?" Xiomara emitted a bark of laughter. "I'd think that you'd hear it, too." River: Current started to follow the girl, hopeing she would remember or tell him more. He stopped when a faint call came to his ears. "Current?!" yelled a high melodic voice. Current turned around. "Current!" it said again. He realized it was coming from the village. "Current!" called another voice, a bit too high perhaps. This was someone else. Two people looking for me? Bounty hunters probably... Current turned around to the guy. "Have you seen her?" he asked quickly and handed him a flyer. Current was half inching toward the calls and half asking the question. His teal eyes flashed quickly, once from the woods and then to the stranger in front of him. (bye smileybanana) Moyashi: Moyashi: Here...let me help Niika: ~another tear falls and she pokes the dieing fire~ Letiel: Conar: *looks up tiredly, distant* .... *scoots over to give her room and keeps healing* Moyashi: Moyashi: ~sits next to Conar and opens her side-bag, pulls out her special water and holds it over Soren's heart trying to heal him...~ It won't work.......it's..not going to work......what are we going to do about Conar?... Niika: I can't stand this.... ~she stands up and turns to the direction of where they were fighting~....I just can't stand this....i'm always losing people close to me.. ~behind her the flames of the fire increase at her anger and depression~ Xiomara: "No," lie easily rolled off his tongue and collapsed into the tendrils of verdant grasses. He peered over Current's shoulder and met Leif's ocher stare before retreating into the forest after the stranger. Branches whipped against his flanks when he quickened his pace in pursuit of the outlandish adolescent, 'Call for me,' the voice rang loudly through his head, but emitted no sound, 'and I might answer.' "Xiomara!" his throat burned, and Kite called again louder. "Xiomara!" (Please read my drabble on the “Ramblings” thread, River! hear your feedback.) I’d like to River: River ran up behind Leif who had stopped in his tracks. "What is it?" she asked coming up behind him. Recently they ventured into the woods where the kite had been flying above not too long ago. Current stared out at the stranger. The guy had given a curt reply and then darted off after the other stranger. The flyer in his hand blew away. yup, yup i read it, and posted Xiomara: (Thanks! ) Leif reared backwards when the flyer came in abrupt contact with his face, "Hey!" He pulled it away from his face to follow Kite's retreating figure with his eyes, but his gaze only met another stranger's uncannily familiar teal blue gaze. Flyers cascaded from under his arm leisurely like a waterfall, which immediately caught his attention. "River! Is that him?" Letiel: Conar: *uses ability to close up the arrow wounds* he's just sleeping right? Celahir: *notices the flare from the fire and heads that direction* River: Current made eye contact with a light-haired boy. One of his flyers had hit him in the face quite comically. A girl ran up beside him and said a few words. He could feel the wind pick up. The girl had long dark brown hair and looked a bit wet. A random purple flower stuck behind her ear. Her face turned toward him and he gasped. Those teal eyes... His flyers were freely moving about in the air, and created a surreal atmosphere. They flew peacefully past the two adolscents. Current stepped forward. "...River...?" The girl perked up in reconition. Her eyes shone with her tears forming up. She stepped forward too. The flyers were everywhere. Xiomara: Leif watched River tentatively draw towards her elder brother, but was startled when he could not summon the happiness he expected to feel. Instead, he scrutinized both quizzically and blinked. His ocher eyes glazed over, and his mind registered a brilliant flash of azure that passed through his thoughts and gaze. Leif rubbed his eyes like he was clearing the sand out of them after a night's rest. 'Where is this?' he probed through his head that was suddenly vacant and dissipated from the flyers that wreathed around his lanky form. 'I want to go back. To wherever.' Kite leapt over the thick bustles of undergrowth that snapped at his heels and relentlessly continued his pursuit of the stranger. He made multiple endeavors to clear this spontaneous madness from his thoughts and return to his cot he'd rented in the village, but found himself unable to. Kite pressed forward without any exact knowledge of where he was headed towards, 'I know who you are. I know your name.' (I must leave you with Leif's second memory lapse. I'll try to imply Xiomara's cynical character harder next time. Ciao!) Moyashi: Moyashi: ~sadly looks at Soren's body to Conar~...i....i don't know conar...~notices the increased flame~ Niika! your going to give away our position! Niika: ~ignores Moyashi and the flame gets a little higher and it turns blue~ Letiel: Celahir: *steps into the clearing and looks around* Soul: Soul looks around, breathing weakly not being able to move too much. He sees Celahir, and his fists clench in fear, he tries to move further away from the man, but he is barely able to move. "H-help." Letiel: Celahir: *notices Soul and immediately his harsh gaze softens* Conar: *whimpers* Celahir: *turns his attention to Soren and starts walking toward the body* Soul: Soul uses all his strenght to follow Celahir with his head. He hands grasp the grass deperately. "Don't touch him. P-please, don't touch him." he begs as loud as he can Letiel: Celahir: *looks back at Soul with pity, before lightly touching Conar's shoulder* Conar: *looks up* Celahir.... Soren won't wake up. Celahir: He's dead Conar. I need you to give him to me. *gently places a hand on Soren's forehead* Moyashi: Moyashi: ~doesn't flip out at Celahir touching Soren...she knew he was dead~ Niika: ~flames start to turn white as a fresh set of tears appear~ Letiel: Conar: *feels the heat from the fire but doesn't want to acknowledge that something is wrong* Celahir: *turns around* What the hell are you doing? Moyashi: Niika: ~eyes are closed with tears pouring down, she suddenly sits, head to knees, arms wrapped around her, and the white flame turns blue again and shrinks in height~ Letiel: Celahir: *softens and walks over to Niika, crouching down beside her* It's alright. *puts a hand on her shoulder* everything will be ok. River: River embraced her brother for the first time in about three years. Tears flowed freely from her eyes as her brother soothed her and stroked her hair. He's really alive... its, incredible! She choked a bit and kept saying words like, "I'm so glad," "how?" and "what happened?" The wind stopped momentarily and the flyers fell. Current stroked his sister's hair affectionately. He was on the verge of tears but held them back so he could comfort River. His tall body easily saw over River's head. He looked at the light-haired fellow. The guy looked lost and stared into space. Current tilted his head (very much like what River does) at him. He kept comforting River in her mini-shock/relief but tried to communicate with the guy through his eyes. Moyashi: Niika: ~she leans into Celahir and sobs for Soren~ Letiel: Celahir: *somewhat surprised he sits down and awkwardly pats niika's back* Moyashi: (you think he's surprised...i don't remember typing that last night....^^ ah well) Niika: ~still crying~ Moyashi: ~stopped trying to bring back Soren~ Letiel: Conar: *blinks* What are you doing Moyashi? Help him! Celahir: Um... It's ok? You can stop crying... Moyashi: Niika: It no use crying you know...........i know....i know..~her crying slowly ceases and shes still leaning on Celahir~ No matter what you do you can't get him back..... I know i know... Moyashi: ~shakes her head sadly~ There's nothing i can do for him Conar....from what i can tell, he died the instant he hit the water.....he's been gone a while Letiel: Conar: *stares, wide-eyed at Moyashi* Help him!! Please! Moyashi: (whoops..italics...) Moyashi: There's....nothing i can do...~can't look Conar in the eyes~....even if i was the greatest healer in the world...you can't bring them back from the dead..... Letiel: Conar: *grabs her by the shoulders and shakes her* You have to try! Please! Celahir: *gently gets up, making sure Niika can at least support her own weight, and walks over* Conar! Conar: *stops, stunned* Celahir: Soren is dead! He's not coming back. Moyashi: Niika: ~looks up at the sky~ I have to move on... WE have to move on.. Moyashi: ~lets Conar shake her, she continues to not look him in the eyes~ Letiel: Conar: *immediately starts crying and bolts into the woods* Celahir: *watches him leave before turning to Soren* Forgive me, Minoru *starts picking him up* Moyashi: Moyashi: no..~stops Celahir from picking up Soren~....he needs to be buried by friends....if i can't stop you, at least let us come Niika: Yeah....your right... ~as she stands the fire dies~ Letiel: Celahir: *frowns* I have orders to take care of the body. Don't stop me. Moyashi: Niika: ~touches Celahirs shoulder~ she's not trying to stop you, shes asking you a request, which i think all of us want... Moyashi: ~surprised at niika~ What...she's agreeing with me? Niika: Let us come with you Letiel: Celahir: I don't intend to bury him. I'm going to cremate him back at the estate. Moyashi: Niika: I'm coming with you Moyashi: ~a little lost~ um...i'm going to find Conar ~runs off in his direction~ Letiel: Celahir: *picks up Soren and throws him over his shoulder* I thought you were never going there Moyashi: Niika: ~looks down for a second~ I...I need to now...even if they kill me...~grabs bag, pulls out Kuro-cloak and puts it on~ I need to do this. Letiel: Celahir: *nods and looks over at Soul, noting the silent plea from the boy* What about him? He clearly hates me. Soul: Soul looks at the man, confused, and enraged. Tears are flowing freely from his eyes, and his body is shaking. "Why?" he asks quietly "Why do you ave to take him?! He said he would protect me! He promised!" Letiel: Celahir: He's dead. He can't protect you. Stand up and protect yourself, it's what he would've wanted. *looks Soul over* You clearly aren't strong enough to come. We will return once the body has been taken care of Soul: Soul lowers his head and sobs, clenching his fists. Finally he nods. Letiel: Celahir: *turns toward the estate, trying to keep the body from slipping off his shoulder* It's better this way kid. Conar: *trips in the forest and curls up resisting the urge to scream* Soul: Soul stops, looking at the man. "Why?" Letiel: Celahir: *looks back* Everyone needs to wake up sometime. Besides, who else was Soren protecting? Those people will need you. Be strong for them. (Edit: I didn't even finish his speech the first time >.<) Soul: Soul shakes his head. He looks at the man with his eyes full of fresh tears. "I can't! I'm too weak!" Letiel: Celahir: *drops the body on the ground and steps over it to squat by Soul* Weak? *grabs a fistful of Soul's shirt and hauls him roughly to his feet* Then don't be weak (Does Amar want a say in all this?) Soul: (Azar...I'll call heart) Letiel: (I think she'd be really unhappy with Celahir XD) Heart: (Oh, yes.) Azar runs over to the males, and pushes Celahir away. Hugging Soul close to her. She looks at the older man with fury, and whispers something to Soul's before lifting him up nad walking over to him. Azar: That is no way of treating a little boy who just lost someone! Without warning, she punches Celahir's face in anger. Letiel: Celahir: *staggers back a bit in surprise and ignores his split lip* You babying him is precisely why he'll never be strong. Heart: Azar frowns but simply tightens her grasp on Soul. Azar: He is strong. So strong that it's scary thinking that he can't control himself..... I have orders to protect him, and when we were together in Kuro I swore with my life that I would. A promise is a promise. Anotherfalleneve: *bran gets up from his nap* Get over it. You cant bring the dead back to life. *stops talking realizing how much of a hypocrite he was being* Letiel: Celahir: And he will never learn what it's like to stand for himself and others *turns back to the body picking it up and throwing it back over his shoulder* (Um... AFE, hun you're a little late XD) Heart: Azar: You have no idea of what you are talking about, old man. Letiel: Celahir: I'm not that old. And I know exactly what I'm talking about Anotherfalleneve: Shut up im only 17 *gets annoyed* and you need to quit babying your brother. Celahirs right. He needs to be able to stand on his own 2 feet. And i definitley know what im talking about. Letiel: (*headdesk*) Heart: Azar turns to Bran. Azar: Shut up! And you obviously don't, since one: I wasn't talking to you, and two: he is not my brother. The girls turns to the man once again. Azar: you don't. you haven't gone through what he has. He can take care of himself. But while I'm here, I'l try to be the mother he didn't have, and try to give him the life he didn't get because of you! Letiel: Celahir: *drops the body again and walks up to Heart* You are confusing me for a noble which I am not. Like I'm sure he and you were, I was taken from my home and my humble family burned with our farm. I am not unlike you. Heart: Azar: Dude, a little more respect for the dead? *she pasuses a little* I'f you're like us... you have fallen really low. Serving the royal family directly. I came to realize that I was doing wrong, and so did Ra-chan... but it was to late already. He can survive on his own. But I don't want him to become 'wild' forever. Letiel: Celahir: Call it low if you will but I've sworn myself to protecting the only two nobles I've found who can make a difference for the better... well, one now. Anotherfalleneve: (LOL oops i thought she was responding to my random comment) *solemnly walks off to find conar and moy* Letiel: Conar: *stops crying and gets up, dusting off his clothes he checks to make sure no one is around* Soul: Soul looks at Celahir as if considering what he will say next. "Shall we go now?" Letiel: (where did Heart go?) Soul: (homework) Xiomara: Leif shifted his weight from one foot to another nervously under Current's probing stare. He reflexively averted his gaze towards the tendrils of verdant grass swaying placidly in submission to the mild drafts that billowed past. Leif rubbed his temples and struggled to recall why he was present here and what he was doing then. He hesitated before withdrawing under the shade that the forest's thick canopy cast, which had suddenly become immensely appealing. Leif slumped back onto a broad tree trunk and then blinked his eyes shut to erase the slight unease that he was being watched. "I don't believe this," Kite's breath came out in uneven and harsh intervals. "You just lead me around in a huge circle," he kicked up loose soil by swinging his right leg in a clean arc. "I haven't gone anywhere." Xiomara suppressed a chuckle to continue guarding the amnesic adolescent from her present situate without notice. "You decided to follow me," she retorted jovially. "I didn't make that mistake for you." The adolescent craned his neck to direct a contemptuous glance towards her, "Why do you always hide up in trees?" He pondered of how her head pivoted in his direction to acknowledge his query directly though she was blindfolded. "Stupid heroines always go up," Xiomara gestured airily towards the higher branches of the canopy and slumped comfortably against the tree trunk. "I'm just following their example." River: Current stopped stroking River's hair. "Who is that guy?" he asked her. Her tear drenched face looked up at him.color] "That's Leif... he's my best friend." River smiled. She calmly walked over to Leif as she wiped some of her tears off of her face. Xiomara: He bristled when River drifted from her brother and then traveled towards him. Leif suppressed an animalistic snarl rising up in his throat and loomed threateningly over the shorter adolescent in response to her abrupt presence. "Who are you?" he leered distrustfully at River who was staring up at him with disbelief. “What do you want?” his ocher eyes flared with an uncharacteristic impatience and wariness while he waited for a response. River: River's eyes widened and she stumbled back. "Leif... no, please not now. Remember... it's River."She felt Current come up behind her but she put her hand back in defense. Current stepped away but watched cautiously. River looked into Leif's eyes as she fumbled through her hair. Her long finger came across the purple flower. She paused and took it out slowly as to not alarm him. She held the flower out with one hand in a graceful manner. "It's River... Leif." Her gaze locked into his eyes. "I know you're scared, but trust me, you'll remember soon." She gave a small smile and held the flower a bit higher and closer to him. She urged him to take it. Xiomara: Leif instinctively reared backwards from the kindly gesture and continued to scrutinize both with a vehement and suspicious glare. His mind vaguely registered guilt upon her dejected frown, though the rest of himself could not process it with the absence of the supplementary, but necessary information. He reflected on his loss with a similar wariness that he was regarding River and Current with. 'Would I have wanted to remember?' his head throbbed painfully and reeled with broken recollections replayed with incoherent dialogue. 'What would I have wanted?' "I just want to go back," Leif clutched the sides of the unruly growth sprouting out of his head. "I don't want anything else." (I need to get off now. I'll see you tomorrow. Ciao!) River: River was disapointed in the the small rejection. She didn't give up. Leif's face looked like it was in mental anquish. She felt heavy knowing he was scared and confused. River let go of the flower and it dropped to the ground naturally. "Go back where?" she asked seriously concerned. Her tears were coming back but she tried her best to suppress them. Not once did her eyes leave Leif's. She wanted him to find the connection. Moyashi: Moyashi: ~see's Conar~ there you are! Niika: ~moves over to where Soren's body was dropped and picks him up, looks at Celahir calmly~ are we going? Letiel: Conar: *takes on a look of sadness* He's dead.... Celahir: Yes *turns back toward the estate* Let's go Xiomara: Leif tentatively relaxed his arms to his sides. “Can’t remember,” he croaked wearily like a solider who’d suffered through a climactic battle. He stared at his balled fists to avoid meeting River’s gaze since it caused another reel of broken recollections to unfurl. His wariness evaporated. “It hurts,” Leif carped though the pain had reduced to a dull pangs ringing through his head. He clenched and unclenched his fists, pretending that he’d captured it and was squeezing the breath out of it to force its hurtful clasp from him. River: River stepped closer tentatively. She reached out to him but withdrew remembering she is a stranger to Leif. She stood there unable to help. Her vision became blurred with her tears. Current hated this. The guy looked like he could burst out and attack River at any moment. He flinched when she reached toward him momentarily. He almost leaped in front to act like a sheild. River backed away though and Current eased more. His teal eyes scrutinized Leif for any sudden movements. After awhile his gaze fell onto the flower. It layed there fragile and delicate looking. Moyashi: Moyashi: ~stops when Conar speaks~....yes....he is Niika: ~nods and follows Celahir~ Xiomara: Leif didn’t recoil when she stretched her arm towards him. Instead, he continued to avoid her gaze by staring down at his unbuckled sandals. “It doesn’t hurt anymore,” Leif’s whimpers dimmed and, a dash of his former personality materialized in his crooked smile. “It’s almost gone,” the lighthaired adolescent flickered towards River and Current before following the elder’s gaze directed towards the flower. He tentatively extended his left arm to pick it up, but drew back immediately as if were venomous. River: River smiled at Leif. She saw him stretch his hand out for the flower. Her excitment grew but immediatly diminished when he drew back suddenly. River looked over at Current and he sighed. Xiomara: Xiomara watched Leif’s tentative actions with disinterest. “I should just grab him by the ears and drag him back to where he came from,” she mused jovially and popped a candy (without the colorful wrapper) into her gaping mouth. “I would have the time for proper lunches if he was rooted in one place.” “Then why don’t you?” Kite watched the older adolescent devour candy after candy in ravenous gulps. “It would save you a lot of precious time,” he ignored the irony of how casually both strangers were biting away at their lunches. Xiomara shrugged and continued to happily eat her candies. “You’re a foreigner,” Kite said after heartbeats of companionable silence. He instinctively raised his head for the hand gestures that followed her verbal responses. “I suppose,” Xiomara twisted the crinkly paper wound around another candy. “Want one?” she offered after she unwrapped it carefully out of its flimsy container. “No thanks,” he grimaced. “I don’t like sweets.” Xiomara shook her head with dismay and grumbled under her breath, “What is wrong with the people in this country?” She returned her attention to Leif who’d finally met River’s and Current’s gazes. “I don’t know.” Kite exhaled heavily, and he was certain that she’d heard without giving a verbal response in return. (I can imagine this scene clearly in my head. tomorrow, too. Ciao!) River: (hehe me too, its good! I'll try to be online ) Current had just sighed and he saw River do so also. He detached himself from Leif and River's conversation and starting thinking about what he should do with all his flyers. Little gusts of wind blew periodically by. His shaggy hair blew with it and he looked up to the sky between the trees. 'Huh?' There seemed to be someone, possibly two, in the trees. He interrupted the youngers' slow conversation. "River, we aren't alone." She looked at him funny then realized what he meant. River immediatly looked at Leif when she figured out what her brother meant. "We have to get out of here," she said to Leif in a low whisper. Soul: Soul slides until he is on his feet, and walks behind Celahir. Xiomara: Xiomara wiped the sticky residue off her chin with her coat sleeve. “Let's go,” she dismissed the quizzical stare he shot at her and leisurely rose upright. “We are outmatched. We can take advantage of Leif’s amnesia and return him to his native soil.” Kite scrutinized Xiomara suspiciously through narrowed eyes. “Why do you expect me to help you?” he tucked the remnants of his lunch into his satchel. “We’re strangers,” he repeated her of the blatant gap between them. “Call me Xiomara,” a malevolent gleam entered her ocher gaze. “Now we’re not strangers.” River: Leif wouldn't budge. "Please," said River, "there are people watching us in the trees... they could be after you." She gave him a worried glance. A blank stare was her response. Current stepped toward River. "Come on," he said. Current grabbed River's arm and dragged her a bit. "Leave him." Current was growing impatient. Her eyes widened and she struggled against her brother. "Wha? No!" River said a bit too loud. "I am NOT leaving him!" She put up a helpless fight. River's forte definatly was not strength. "Leif!" she called, hopeing he would remember or at least follow. Xiomara: Kite’s eyebrows rose, “Knowing your name,” he drawled on his words cagily, “does not make you any less of a stranger.” “Oh?” Xiomara’s simper broadened. “That’s too bad,” she leapt down from her situate high up within the innermost branches of the canopy. Kite swung the tin canister over his back and watched Xiomara begin darting through the dense undergrowth. “Aren’t you going to ask me for my name?” he cupped his hands over his mouth to amplify his voice across the rugged terrain. Xiomara paused on the summit of the hill before replying. “Details later,” she made an impatient gesture. “Are you coming or not?” Leif's eyes flashed with slight recognition. "River!" he gasped out before collapsing into the tendrils of verdant grasses. The light-haired adolescent clutched his forehead and struggled to rise upright from his knees, which were sinking through the flimsy layers of soil. "Where are you going?" his ocher eyes flashed with alarm when his mind registered abandonment. Leif stretched his arm outwards, but froze immediately upon sensing the presence of two others. "It's been awhile, Leif," he pivoted on his heel towards the voice. "You’ve grown up since we've met face-to-face." Leif instinctively grabbed for his quarterstaff strapped around his back. Loosened, ebony locks flared around her slight form like a tempest. "But this time," her smile stretched and revealed a set of sharp teeth, "you are at my mercy." River: "Current, stop!" River screamed. She conjured some water and froze her brother's hand. This created a momentary opening. She sprinted away towards Leif. "Leif!" she called. She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw another female behind him. Current cursed under his breath as River escaped his grasp. "River..." he lightly groaned. He ran after her. He came into view of the opening where they once had been. He say the familiar stranger. "You. What are you doing here?" he asked. He saw River in a fighting stance as Leif looked terrified. Razaica: (OMG! The River/Kite/Current/Lief situation is intriguing! 80) Raz: *sitting numbly just beyond the light of the fire, staring deeply into it* Fushicho: You know...He wouldn't want you, any of you, to mourn like this. Raz: How would you know? *suddenly angry, an the fire flares up* Fushicho: .......you think I haven't lost people I loved? Well, I have. And I had the unfortunate experience of watching others suffer for me... Raz: What? *confused* Fushicho: *shakes head mentally* Nevermind...you dont need to know Letiel: Celahir: *turns to Soul* You're too weak to follow. Stay here. Moyashi: Niika: ~starts walking away with Soren's body~ Soul: Soul frowned, glaring at Celahir with determination. "I will not! he is my best friend. I will not stay here." Letiel: Celahir: *shakes head* You will not make it. Stay. If you would like i will bring you back some of his ashes. Soul: "I will make it. I have to go!" Letiel: Celahir: *knocks Soul's feet out from under him with a sweep of a foot* No. *turns and follows Niika* Anotherfalleneve: (crud i totally havent been keeping up with this rp as of late ... sorry guys i've been sorta busy lately) *bran just follows the people where ever they are goin.*xD Letiel: (... lol it's just Niika and Celahir leaving... well, and Soul trying to) Soul: Soul glares at the man, his mouth twisting in pain. he took two deep breathes and got up his muscles screaming at his not to. The boy walked as fast as he could, managing to catch up with the pair. He fisted Celahir's sleeve. "I will go!" Letiel: Celahir: *whips around with a snarl* Amaya will not have you at the estate! You will stay! *smiling on the inside* I think he is strong. Soul: "I won't!" Soul yelled, "...I don't care if she wants me there or not!" he continued after a pause, but his hace showed that he was hurt by that statement. "Soren protected me, and he is my best friend! If there is a ceremony in his name I will be there, no matter what!" Letiel: Celahir: *twitches* Fine. But you will not be supported. If you're going to come find your own strength to get there. *turns and stomps off* What an interesting fellow.... Amaya will not be pleased... Soul: "You don't worry about that. If it's about Soren I will find all the strenght I need." Letiel: Celahir: I'm sure. *sounds disbelieving* Conar: *walks back to camp shaking* Soul: Soul frowns at the man, who obviously doesn't believe a word he says, taking a deep breath. Without another word, he begins to walk again. Anotherfalleneve: *Bran tags along with soul* hey man if you need help gettin some where i could be of some assistance. Letiel: Celahir: *turns on Bran* No. He will get over this himself Soul: Soul ignores Celahir's comment and turns to Bran. "Hey, thanks, but don't worry, what I said is true; it this is for Soren, I can make it." Anotherfalleneve: (lol what is even going on i feel empty inside now that soren's gone. Q.Q) *nods proudly* Sounds like you are becomin a man. Well best of luck to you on that Soul: Soul smiles sadly at the words. "Yeah... I... thanks, Bran." Moyashi: Niika: ~had stopped walking, waiting for Celahir~ Moyashi: ~following Conar close just in case~ this has hit him hard.... "Leif." There was an uncharacteristic air of indifference that wreathed around him as he acknowledged the light-haired adolescent. "I'll ask again for you to control your partner." Leif's ocher gaze traveled to the stranger's shorter companion and recognized him immediately. "It's you!" he scrutinized the scarlet canister strapped around the opposing person's back with dismay. "What're you doing here?" "Offer no resistance," his query was bowled over easily with a dismissive hand gesture. "And you will not have to suffer the consequences." River: (thanks Raz ) "Hey!" Current called regonizing the two strangers. "What brings you back?" River looked over at her brother in disbelief. 'Wha...?... I missed a lot...' She kept her fighting stance nevertheless. Xiomara: (I missed your comment. you like.) Thank you, Raz! Hana can jump in whenever "We're going back," Xiomara begun to pace around both adolescents in long strides. "Isn't it what you wanted?" she paused tersely to acknowledge Leif directly. Leif jolted upright and fixed the stranger with a contemptuous snarl. "No!" his response was powered by a sense of alarm whenever his thoughts fixed towards a particular recollection. "I won't go back," he met her lantern glow gaze with absolute defiance, which he inwardly was certain of. Her demeanor shifted immediately upon his fiery response. "Leif!" she snapped through grated teeth. "You will not distance yourself further into this country." River: "He can distance himself as much as he pleases!" shouted River. She stepped closer. "Don't let her push you around Leif! You may not remember me, or anything else, but you know what feels right." She stared coldy at Xiomara with her teal eyes. Current sighed. "River..." He looked warily at her, frowned and directed his speech to the stranger. "You didn't answer my question," he stated. "What do you want?" Current realized that Leif was a big part of River's life. He comprehended that the boy, for some reason, lost his memory of River. He could tell by River's passion that they really were... no, are friends, they had history. What would this stranger want with Leif? Current situated himself slowly between the two oppositions, around where Leif was. He eyed the purple flower on the ground while his concious was on the strangers. Current averted his teal eyes to the strangers. He was expecting a direct answer. Xiomara: The foreigner dismissed River's presence entirely. “Leif,” she glowered at the light-haired adolescent. “You've overstayed your welcome here.” “I don’t remember anything outside these cities,” Leif countered and regarded the stranger suspiciously. “Why should I trust you instead of my partner?” A contemptuous scowl appeared on her pallid features. “You must’ve hit your head pretty hard there,” she replied dryly. “You have amnesia. Of course, you don’t remember.” “What do you mean by that?” Leif swallowed his embarrassment and pushed forward, though his response was more foolhardy than the previous. He studied the opposing figure’s visage for imminent signs of attack, but was surprised to only find dismay. “You used to be a bright and energetic learner,” her right eye twitched involuntarily, “but this soft life has made you stupid.” River: River took another step forward. "What do you want with Leif?" she asked spitfully. Current couldn't help but agree with River, though the stranger honestly did seem to have some connection to him. 'She never answered my question... what's there to hide?' A sudden realization occured. 'Is Leif suppose to be some sort of assassin? And his amnesa, it explains...' Letiel: Conar: *gets back to camp and collapses from exhaustion, the fight and losing Soren weighing heavily on his already sore body* Celahir: *catches up and leads the way through the city again* Xiomara: River’s and Current’s presences became steadily more difficult to dismiss, and she saw her partner pop the tin cap off the cylinder body of the scarlet canister. ‘I won’t relent here,’ there was a gleam of misplaced determination within her lantern glow orbs. ‘I won’t lose this opportunity again.’ “You’re not very sympathetic,” Xiomara mentally questioned his current age after he pronounced his childish accusation. “Or polite. You’ve never given us your name when you know mine.” She pointedly ignored the faint amusement radiated off of Kite and continued to acknowledge Leif exclusively. “I’m following orders,” she dodged his critical remarks by answering Current’s query to Leif. “And you’ll probably die during some stupid feat if you stay here like this any longer.” Leif scrutinized her warily. “You don’t look like someone who’d follow orders,” he replied bluntly. Xiomara was reminded of back when there were dinosaurs and she was given the mission to guard Leif. “I suppose,” her trademark simper returned, “I've acted out of term every now and then.” “You’re lying,” Leif accused again, but a tentative smile accompanied his finger pointing. “This is the second time you’ve lied.” Xiomara shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly. “There isn’t anyone here,” her ocher gaze traveled over the four occupants situated on the lush moor, “who hasn’t lied at least once.” She returned her attention to Leif, and her simper broadened. “I think I’m entitled to lying,” her voice rang with strident laughter, “after I’ve murdered and cheated to save your hide for my entire life.” (Unfortunately, I won’t be able to be online for the next three days, because of a retreat. I apologize for not informing you sooner and will see you afterwards. Ciao!) Anotherfalleneve: *Bran returns to the clearing and climbs a tree to keep watch sitting in the higher branches* Moyashi: Moyashi: ~sits next to Conar in case he needs her~ Niika: ~walking with Celahir~ Letiel: (NOTHING is happening!! <--- random outburst) Anotherfalleneve: (lol i cant think of much to do right now cuz i have no will to live after you killed soren q.q) Moyashi: (......uh...can the moderator be REALLY random just to make something happen?) Letiel: (Go for it) River: River was getting a bit angry. "If that's true, then why let him wander? I've been helping him far more than you have!" In River's eyes, this was true. "I've never seen you before in my life," she stated plainly to Xiomara. "How could you have 'saved' him?" "And...you!" River now referred to Kite. "What did happen?" She almost sounded sorry for attacking him earlier. Her eyes tried to search for meaning as she flashbacked to her childhood. Current was wondering the same about Kite. He remained silent, though, and moved closer to Leif, ready to assist him if needed. Xiomara: Kite reflexively arched his back to create a fierce demeanor. "I don't know you," his eyes smoldered with extreme dislike for the shorter adolescent. "I've already told you that." "There are many ways to save a life," Xiomara's response to her previous query averted their attention from their slight argument, "like there are multiple methods to take one." A malevolent light danced within her ocher stare while she reflected on the numerous persons who'd died throughout her journey. "Don't get carried away," Kite admonished and quickly concealed his surprise in doing so. "And stay focused." River: River leaped up to Leif's side. She decided to keep quiet. Obviously they weren't going to answer any of her questions. Her hands balled up in small fists. Current (being on the other side of Leif) stayed where he was. He decided to talk again. "So, you want to take Lief?" Xiomara: "Yes." Xiomara swiftly reminded herself of their imminent hostility and suppressed the compulsion to give a deep explanation. "We need to leave immediately." Leif felt his relief disperse like water spilling between the broad breaches of his fingers. "Are you going back?" there was a clarity in his voice, Xiomara recognized, which had been absent in his previous responses. "I told you I don't want to go back." River: Leif's response was enough for River. "Come on." She tugged on his arm and moved backwards. "Let's go." Xiomara: Leif feigned ignorance to the stranger's existence and stumbled upright while leaning against his partner's shoulder for support. His thoughts muddled with broken recollections and then spun in a whimsical fashion, which refused to abide to the logical order of things. 'I won't go back,' the light-haired adolescent clung to River, whose presence was supporting him from collapsing unconscious onto the verdant tresses of grass. 'To wherever,' Leif struggled to dismiss the stranger's unwavering stare fixed on his retreating back. He had only staggered a pace forward before she broke from her hesitation. "You're a fugitive," his head whipped around to meet her unsympathetic lantern glow gaze again. "And you stupidly tried to escape the organization and government by fleeing the country." (I hope the turn of events suits you, River. I honestly cannot imagine Xiomara doing this favor for Leif, but another twist in her character shouldn't destroy her completely. I should be here tomorrow if I can iron out time to be online. Ciao!) Moyashi: (...eh..well i forgot what it was..but i have something else..^^..eh.dont remember the time of day..but i'm moderator so there =D) The light faded as the time turned to twilight. Dark Storm clouds rolled in and hail started to fall. The sea's waves struck hard against the ports and lightning stroke its way through the sky. Yelling could be heard through the town, it was the biggest storm to come through in a year. River: (yes, it is rather intresting ) She was surprised by Leif's sudden weakening. River allowed him to cling to her as she tried her best to keep him upright. When Xiomara's words reached her ears, she flinched slightly. Some of the faded wind picked up blowing her, Leif, and Current's hair back. River looked down at Leif. His gaze was off in the distance. She sighed and looked up to Xiomara. Current did not even waver his eyes when he heard of Leif's testimony. He glanced quickly at River to see if this changed things. It did not. Her face looked fixed and determined as always. Current averted his attention to Xiomara and Kite. 'They also look determined.' He sighs. 'They seem strong... We may have a chance of taking them though. He looked at River again. 'Hopefully Leif really is this important to you, River.' River's eyes stingingly looked at Xiomara. "That doesn't change things," she stated. "If you think we are just going to hand Leif over, you are wrong!" River was in protection mode. Xiomara: “I’m a criminal?” Leif’s throat constricted with disbelief. “What sort of crimes did I do?” he gulped for oxygen, which his body was suddenly deprived of. “Does it matter?” Xiomara shrugged nonchalantly without recognizing the weight she’d cast upon his gangly shoulders. “It doesn’t change the high price on your little blond head.” His ocher eyes blinked twice to adjust the dimmed light of evening. “Of course, it does! And why should I return to a country for bounty and execution?” he staggered from River and jabbed his finger accusingly at the pallid mercenary. “Bounty?” she tersely entertained a sinister notion in her head, but shook her head to clear it from her thoughts. “There’s a greater price paid to me if I returned you,” Xiomara’s unwavering stare traveled from River to Current, “than any sort of reward money they could offer.” (I’m glad it works. I can imagine Xiomara pulling out a fairy wand to fight River and Current in this particular scene. That would be such an incredibly entertaining and cute sight to behold!) River: (hehe i see it too ) Current accepted Xiomara's new target stare and did so in return. From the corner of his eye he could see River stand in front of Leif protectively. Current shifted from his standing position to a slightly offensive one. "Get him out of here River." Xiomara: Leif blinked curiously at the older adolescent. “You’re not making any sense,” he stumbled past River to face her directly. “You said you were assigned to protect me,” slight impatience was evident in his complaint, “but now you’re telling me that you’re here to turn me in. Why are you here?” “I could be lying to you,” Xiomara withdrew her dirk from its sheath. “And I don’t owe you an explanation.” “I’m not a fugitive!” Leif challenged her previous statements with foolish audacity. “But you’re not lying either about protecting me. I can tell.” He studied her pallid features carefully for a silent response, but salvaged nothing within her flinty ocher glare. Xiomara arched her back and drew her lips back into her trademark simper. “Your voice is stupid,” she said bluntly before lunging forward and slashing his exposed underbelly. River: They seemed to see the act in slow motion. Both reacting differently. River's eyes widened and she skidded to her knees to catch Leif as he fell backwards. She looked down at him in terror and sympathy. 'Why is she doing this? Is she protecting him or not! Her teal eyes glared in rage as she held Leif. River was angry. 'What the...? She's fast.' Current sidestepped and then lunched forward. Lightening surrounded his hands. He aimed for Xiomara. Xiomara: “Stay out of this,” Kite deflected the assault by conjuring air into a compact sphere. “This doesn’t involve either of us,” his dark eyes pierced into Current’s without empathy or concern towards the fallen adolescent. Xiomara acknowledged his assistance with a curt nod before turning her head towards Leif. “You should have seen that,” she chastised lightly. “I suppose I shouldn’t expect too much from you. You did grow up beneath a pathetic mentor.” Leif recognized a smoldering vehemence directed towards someone who wasn’t present amongst them, but was too distracted by his wound. He struggled to rise upright and was startled by an exhilarated feeling that compelled him to move. “That caught me off guard!” Leif copied her broad simper. “You’re fast.” (Please keep Leif's stupidity in mind.) River: (hehe ok ) Current was surprised by Kite's defense. He thought he was just going to observe. 'Heh. So I have to get through you then?' Current got up quickly and conjured water. Leif attempted to stand up and fell. River caught him again and conjured water to heal him. She did so and the only mark left was his ripped clothing. "Leif we should get out of here," she said through gritted teeth. Xiomara: Leif ignored River and averted his attention towards Kite and Current. “Call him off,” he gestured feebly towards Current while pushing himself upright with his right hand. “I want to talk.” Xiomara regarded him warily through narrowed eyes. “Are you up yet?” she watched him teeter slightly and snapped. “Stand up straight! You’re embarrassing yourself!” Leif could sense Kite’s stare flickering from him to his own battle against his partner’s elder brother. He forced his knees to lock himself in a rigid position and ignored the ache pulsating from his raw stomach. “Yes,” he met her ocher stare coolly. “I’m ready,” Leif curled his hand into a fist in suppression of the excitement racing through his veins. (I have to get offline now. I’ll see you tomorrow then. Ciao!) River: Current glanced at Leif and then looked at River. She gave him a 'trust Leif and do what he says' look. Current looked back to Kite and, seeing he deceased fighting, Current did also. River was still weary though through her anger. "Leif, I think we should just go." She saw Current nod in agreement. She tugged lightly at Leif's shirt. Soul: Soul grunted as the group kept walking, barely able to stand. Suddenly, he fell on his knees with a cry. Soul looked up at Calehir, and slowly and painfully rose to his feet once more. "Danm it." he whispered, but made no move to stop, and instead kept walking forward. Xiomara: Leif ignored her gesture and tentatively to climb up the hill. “You’re up?” he stared at his sandals caressed by the verdant tendrils of field grass sprouting out of the hill. “Do you intend on fighting me then?” The light-haired adolescent met her steely stare evenly before replying. “I want the truth,” his uncannily level voice concealed the apprehension prickling underneath his skin. “I can decide whether I will or not after.” “What makes you think you’re deserving of it?” her stare momentarily averted to Kite and then fixed upon Leif again. “You can barely recognize me.” “What are you?” Leif challenged after a moment’s hesitation. “You obviously didn’t willing choose to guard me,” he swallowed the compulsion to pelt her with questions. “Were you forced to? Or was it your duty?” River: Current wispered to River, "These people seem dangerous. I don't think Leif has a chance... We need to get him away." "I know that," River quietly said back. "He won't listen to me. He can be a bit stubborn sometimes." She smiled wryly and turned to Current. "Any tricks up your sleeve?" He nodded. "Several. One will work perfectly." Xiomara: “I disobeyed them,” Xiomara resumed her agitated pacing around her adversaries. “But it isn’t something we shouldn’t talk about here.” The light-haired adolescent’s ocher gaze flickered to River and Current when his keen ears caught their slight conspiracy. “I have time,” he argued, returning his attention to her. “Who did you disobey? And why do you want me to bring you back then?” Xiomara hesitated. “They couldn’t forgive your crimes,” her eyes glazed when the foreign recollection began to reel in his mind, “and decided to lock you away for a long time.” She broke out of her daze and glared at him sharply, “But you escaped and I pursued.” “Are you here to take me back?” Leif startled himself by the absolute levelness in his voice. “Why did you take so long?” “I let you go,” Xiomara regarded with resentfully. “I owed it to your parents and guarded you instead of killing you.” She shook her head to clear the despair that was beginning to cloud her features. “I was wrong. I shouldn’t have betrayed my duty to save your hide.” River: Current and River payed close attention to the conversation between Leif and Xiomara. Nevertheless, Current continued with his plan. He stood quite still and consentrated. The air gradually grew moister. River stepped a bit closer to Leif out of habbit. Her teal eyes scrutinized Xiomara, detecting for any fallacies. She was surprised to find that everything she said seemed honest and true. Xiomara: Leif allowed his supposed savior to linger in the recollections, which he lacked, before asking. “What will you do now?” he was surprised that her gaze had immediately regained its stony flintiness when she raised her head to acknowledge him. “If I return you to the police,” Xiomara’s reply was painfully blunt, like a rounded pebble, “I will probably regain my status amongst the governing ranks.” There was slight accusation in her voice when she added, “However, it would be a waste of my time and effort if I simply returned you.” “But I thought you wanted to return?” he gratefully leaned against River. “Why did you confront me in the first place?” Xiomara rigidly shifted her weight from one foot to the other. “I have protected you by playing the role of the sacrificial lamb,” her tongue clicked against the roof of her mouth. “And now you owe me.” River: Owe? What could Leif possibly give her?' River was slightly confused. Most of her anger was gone due to the passing of the time. She allowed Lief to lean on her and she couldn't help but have her mind wonder. Current continued to concentrate. The air's humidity increased and a light fog tickled everyone's feet. Xiomara: Kite felt Xiomara’s ocher gaze flicker towards him at the steadily swelling humidity enveloping them. ’What a nuisance,’ he nodded his head in curt acknowledgement, which earned him a cheeky grin in mute response. He studied Leif’s astonished expression before looking beyond the lighthaired adolescent. ‘A water manipulator,’ he assessed and briefly turned his attention to River. ‘Just like the other one.’ Kite balled his fists tightly before leisurely unclenching them to form slight compact bodies of air in his palms. He was soothed by the cool breezes that whipped around them, which discreetly began to negate Current’s fog by dispersing the heavy water vapors into nothingness. River: "Tsk..." Current was a bit irritated by how Kite so easily dispersed the fog. He debated in his mind whether to continue and make the fog thicker or abandon this particular plan. Current grinned. 'I've already begun, it won't take too much energy to finish it up.' The dispersed fog suddenly rolled back in at an alarming speed. It was quite dense and heavy as it pushed against Kite and Xiomara. River comprehended what Current was doing. She tugged on Leif's shirt again as the fog enclosed around her. Xiomara: Kite’s lips tugged downward into his trademark frown. ‘It’s disadvantageous if I act too quickly,’ he exhaled heavily in resign, ‘since I can’t tell where they’re positioned.’ “I can take care of myself!” he heard Leif’s indignant retort above the dense veil of water vapor. “You’re not my keeper!” The pallid adolescent whipped around reflexively with his weapon raised upon the slight rustle of grass. He lowered it when he identified his partner’s silhouette through the mist. “How are you standing through it?” Kite could vaguely recognize the hand gesture she made towards her bandanna. “I didn’t think those strange habits of ours would ever be useful in combat,” he remarked drily. Kite scrutinized her darkened features when she began to flail her arms towards something beyond him. ‘They still haven’t escaped!’ he interpreted and started to conjure large bodies of air into his palm. ‘We still have a chance.’ He blinked with slight surprise when his mind registered them as a team, but dismissed it quickly. River: River was taken aback by Leif's words. "Keeper?" she wispered, "Do you think of me as binding you down?" She became upset. "I know i have my problems but I'm trying to help you now. These people are dangerous." River could faintly make Leif's shape out of the fog. She searched for his hand and held it gently. "Please, I have a bad feeling," she said quietly, not referring to the fog. 'Come on River, what's taking you so long?'Current let his senses spread throughout the extremely moist air. 'I guess I'll buy you some more time...' He detected Kite and Xiomara. The fog around them swirled and pushed violently. Xiomara: Kite missed Leif’s response, but detected a tinge of offense in his voice. “Hurry, Kite,” he could feel the pallid adolescent’s presence lending him a foreign strength. “They’ll escape,” Kite nodded and released his invisible grip against the air currents he collected. Both misty figures watched the winds cut through and disperse the vaporous shield. “Didn’t we tell you?” Xiomara crowed when both teams could see each other again. “Further resistance is futile.” Moyashi: The storm increased in power. It was completely dark now except for the lightning strikes across the sky. Rain-pour increased and the ports where almost invisible under the crashing waves. (come on..work with the storm....i created it for a reason...) River: Kite had dispersed the mist but Current was no longer in view. He hid among the trees, trying to take advantage of surprise. He saw Leif and River still standing out in the open. He cursed in his mind. River was still tugging lightly on Leif's shirt, much like a toddler to her father. Letiel: (Soul came back! :D) Celahir: *watches Soul hopefully and walks up to the gate, opening it with a wave* Amaya: *rushes to meet the group but stops at the sight of her brother* So it's true then. Soul: (Haha, hey.) Soul watches Amaya, and then glances at Soren, tears swelling up in his eyes. He chokes a sob as his hands ball into fists. Xiomara: “You tried to flee,” Xiomara’s gaze raked disdainfully over them, “instead of facing your present debt to me.” She gathered her haunches to lunge at them, but froze when Kite tapped her shoulder lightly with his pointer finger. “One has escaped,” he made an airy gesture towards the open plain. “I assume he’ll try to take us by surprise.” Kite met her ocher gaze evenly, “We need to separate Leif.” Xiomara eyed River coldly. “Perhaps,” she straightened her rigid spine upright. Moyashi: Niika doesn't say a word as she carries Soren's body past the gates. She had to be strong and not let her emotions about it here get to her...she was still under their service after all. Letiel: Amaya: *notices Soul and eyes narrow* Celahir, there seems to be a storm coming. We will take care of the body when it clears. Everyone can find their own rooms. *turns and starts walking dack to the house* Celahir: *nods* Soul: Soul lets a tear cry when he feels the first drop of water hit his head, but quickly wipes it away, and begins walking slowly, dragging his feet as he moves. Letiel: Celahir: *notes the wind* Niika. We'll take Soren to his old room. That's the safest place I can think of for now. *leads the way through the house to Soren's room, walking quickly past servants* Amaya: *at her desk in her room writing out orders for when the storm passes* Soul: Soul follows Celahir as fast as he can. "I know you can't help me, but please... wait a second." Letiel: Celahir: *waits a moment, stopping in the hallway* Soul: Soul's knees buckle a little, but he catches himself before taking a deep breath and continue walking. Near them, hidden in a hallway a tall man smiled evilly. Letiel: (Oo! New bad guy?) Celahir: *sighs* We're almost there. Soul: Maaaaybe. Ok, just look for my bad guy) "Is it a threat or a promise?" Soul asked with a tired voice. Letiel: (OK) Celahir: A promise. *walks to the last door on the right* Soul: Soul follows Celahir, looking around nervously after a shiver ran up his spine. Letiel: Celahir: *holds the door open for Soul before looking about nervously* Soul: Soul enters the room and looks around. The tall man, with black hair and red eyes, hides behind a wall so that Celahit won't see him, but keeps smiling darkly. Letiel: Soren: *body is on the rather large bed* Celahir: *hand draws warily towards his weapon and he steps away from the room a moment, listening* (Do you want Celahir to find the bad guy?) Soul: Soul aproaches the bed and falls to his knees in pain, breathing harshly as he looked at his best friend's body. "Onii-chan" he cries. The man gives a step to the front. (Yeah, sure, it's fine) River: River's eyes widened as she looked at Xiomara talking to Kite. She searched for Current. Some panic struck through her and she reached for Leif's hand. Her teal eyes rapidly glanced around the area. Her lips trembled as the fog's sudden coming and going chilled her. Moyashi: (...new bad guy? sounds fun ^^) Niika: ~had followed, set sorens body on bed and is now sitting against a wall~ Letiel: Celahir: *immediately takes a defensive stance at the sight of the man* Who are you? Moyashi: Niika: ~stands up next to where soren is lying~ Why did you have to die? Letiel: (Hold up. Niika's in the room. Celahir is in the hallway) Moyashi: (...oops...well i'll edit my post...) Letiel: Conar: *still back in the woods, huddled up* When is this storm going to pass? Amaya: *hears shuffling just outside her door and gets up to investigate* (Amaya's room is just across from Soren's btw) Moyashi: (good to know....is Niika alone in Sorens room?) Moyashi : ~huddled next to Conar~ I don't know, but i think we're going to need better cover then the woods...(shes an experienced pirate whos been through many a storms...) Letiel: (Soul is in there too) Conar: *nods* I'll follow you then Moyashi: (thanks..i was wondering if she was alone or not...) Niika: ~sits back down and wraps her kuro cloak around her~ Moyashi: ~shivers and stands up~ The town may be a safer place, if the river hasn't flowed over the bridge by now... Letiel: Conar: Maybe we should've gone with Niika and Celahir.... *not very sure of himself* (and if they were alone?) Moyashi: (how should i know?...i just couldn't remember where everyone was...) Moyashi: ~looks at Conar~ Maybe...but lets find a safer place before we discuss that, this storm hasn't even started Letiel: (LOL oh all right) Conar: It hasn't started?! Moyashi: (well...we havn't done anything for a while...^^) Moyashi: ~smiles in a way she hasn't since she was last on a pirate ship~ Nope. This is just it scaring us...its going to get a lot worse very quickly, i'd say we have about 10 or so min to get to safety... Letiel: Conar: *bolts towards town* Moyashi: Moyashi: ~laughs~ He's got the right idea..~follows~ Soul: The man gives a step towards Celahir, letting himself be seen. (I'll control Azar for a bit) Azar watches as Conar and Moyashi run, and she follows. Letiel: Celahir: *softly* Who are you? Soul: The man scowls, even if just a little. "You really don't know? I am Klaus." Soul begins to cry, still sitting on the floor. Letiel: Celahir: I don't care who you are. *motions toward the front gate* You aren't welcome here Soul: "I am part of the royal family." He says simply "I can be here. Besides. You have one boy here that I want." Xiomara: Leif recognized a murderous glint in their shadowed gazes, and panicked. “I will do everything in my power to repay you,” he maneuvered his gangly form before them to shield River. “But I won’t let you hurt my partner.” “Your partner is holding you back,” Xiomara replied with an impatient gesture towards the teal-eyed adolescent, “and we have already cautioned her many times over.” “Don’t hurt River,” he insisted and added quickly upon recollection, “or her brother. They don’t have anything to with this.” Xiomara seemed to swell towards the heavens. “Exactly!” she spat furiously, swinging her head from Leif to River. “And yet they continue to interfere and only cause further problems!” the pallid adolescent sobered upon Kite’s mild gesture to soothe her frazzled nerves. River: River peeked from behind Leif's arm. "I don't want to hold you back Leif," she said openly. "But I do not want to leave you either..." She stopped searching for Current and focused on her partner. Her eyes earnestly looked into his. "Let me help you repay them." 'What are you talking about River?' Current was confused. 'She couldn't think of going with them either!' His teal eyes scornfully looked at Xiomara and Kite. He slightly crouched more. Xiomara: “It probably isn’t going to be safe for her there,” Leif averted his gaze from his partner upon the uncharacteristically mild response from the prickly adolescent. “Besides,” his voice regained its usual curtness, “you’re annoying enough by yourself.” He disregarded Kite’s pointed remark and turned to Xiomara. “I don’t want to get her involved,” he replied levelly but added with little reluctance, “but River’s my partner.” “Oh?” Xiomara scrutinized him and then River thoughtfully. “I remember having one of those,” her upper lip quirked with amusement. “He was nuisance. Couldn’t take care of himself.” “I can’t either,” Leif admitted embarrassedly. “I’m kind of hopeless without River.” Letiel: Celahir: *immediately snaps to attention* My apologies sir Amaya: *listening through the door* What?! *storms into the hallway* What do you want? River: River smiled at the Leif's truth. She directed her speech to the strangers. "I'm not that useless... I can heal." Current gritted his teeth. 'River...' Xiomara: Leif thought Kite looked funny when he squinted his eyes. “I said annoying,” he shrugged his shoulders to adjust his canister’s strap across his shoulders. “And tell your brother to come out already. I don’t like spies.” “Do you like anything?” Xiomara turned to him with suppressed laughter in her ocher stare. “I can’t imagine you doing anything for the enjoyment of it.” “I fly kites,” he defended quickly and glared at his partner when she emitted soft chuckles (“He flies kites, he says. Ho ho!”) in response. “You’re not helping,” irritation was apparent in his dark gaze. Xiomara shrugged his remark off and reluctantly returned to the more prominent subject. “Hurry,” he shifted his weight anxiously from one foot to the other. “We’ve been here too long.” (They have. Hopefully, we can move them tomorrow? I’ll devise something up for Leif’s payment after I get over my characters’ frequent tendency to become uncharacteristic. D: It causes me so much grief. I’ll be on tomorrow then. Ciao! Nice to talk to you again.) Edit: (Don't listen to him, River! Go on an adventure!) River: "Current!" she called lightly into the air. "Come on, we don't have to fight." River was still situated behind Leif. Her hand still loosely held his. "I'm going whether you want me to or not," she stated plainly. He leaped from a tree and stealthly landed next to River. His height over shadowed her. "You're going to go with them?" he asked increduously. "Do you ever think things through? We could have gotten away earlier easily!" His chest stuck out slightly as he yelled at her. Current seemed quite big next to her and Leif. "I've been looking for you for three years and I just found you today!" he snarled, his temper was getting to him. River boldy stood in front of Leif dispite her size, her hand still holding his. "Leif is as much as a part of my life as you are!" she yelled back. "I am NOT leaving him just for you!" Current stepped back, glared at River, Leif, then Kite and Xiomara. His hands were in fists and his eyes were unpredictable. (yes, hopefully Nice talking to you again also! ) Soul: "Now, now Amaya, Is that a way of talking to your elders?" He asked, a smirk making its way to his face. "And you know what I want. I want that child who made your brother run away." Letiel: Amaya: *starting to recognize the man* *fearfully starts backing up* No, don't. Celahir: *puts himself between Klaus and Soren's room* I'm sorry sir, but I can't allow you to do that. Soul: Klaus smirked even further and gave a step forward, ignoring Celahir. "What? scared now little girl?" Soul slowly layed on the floor, unable to stay awake anymore. Moyashi: Moyashi: ~continues running next to Conar toward the city~ i sure hope that this wind doesn't pick up anymore! ~she yells over to Conar~ Niika: ~still curled up in her cloak shes listening to the conversations outside the door~ great...more people who hate me...why in hell do i serve these people? Heart: Azar runs behind the pair Azar: -Hey! wait up!Moyashi: Moyashi: Eh? ~turns her head to see Azar and waves~ Hurry up! this storm is a killer! ~she smiles wide and continues running~ Heart: Azar accelerates until she just a few inches behind them. Azar: -Where are we even going?!Moyashi: Moyashi: ~happily running in the storm~ To safety in the City!! This storm is going to kill anything and everything when it hits!!! Heart: Azar nods and follows, enjoying the storm for the time being. (Then I'll control Klaus) Klaus erased the smirk from his face, putting on a serious gaze upon the two people blocking his way. Klaus: Give me Rachyr. Now. Moyashi: Moyashi: ~enjoying the storm and anticipating its full potential~ The winds picked up even more then they had been. Trees began to lean sideways as the wind blew against them. The water level started to rise higher over the ports and the rain poured down like no tomorrow. Lightning filled the sky and every so often one would hit the ports or a building, setting it on fire for a few seconds before the rain drowned it out. The storm was beginning. Letiel: Celahir: *torn between protecting Amaya or protecting Soul* Amaya: *trying to be courageous* This is not your house, Klaus. He is under my protection here and you can't do anything about it! Soul: "What are you going to do to stop me?" he asked, giving another step forward. "I am taking the child with me. He is on fault that all this happened!" Klaus reached for his weapon. Letiel: Amaya: *backed up against the wall* A-at least wait til after Soren's funeral! Celahir: *closes the door to Soren's room, staying between the door and Klaus* Soul: Klaus looked at Amaya, then at Celahir, and back to Amaya. He gave another step forward. "No. How will I know you won't try to hide him? He deserves to die!" Letiel: (who's he walking toward?) Amaya: *voice shakes* Please, Klaus! Celahir: *draws a dirk* Soul: (The door) Klaus stops and looks at Amaya. "Why?! He's only trash. I will not interrupt the funeral, I sill just take the boy and leave." Letiel: Amaya: *gets in his way* Klaus! He is under my jurisdiction! You will NOT touch him unless I say so or he is off these grounds! *shaking* Soul: Klaus looks at the girl meaningcily. (SP?) "You are lucky you are from my family." he stated "But I don't care what you say. I will take him..." he continued, pausing a bit to look between Amaya and Celahir "After the funeral. You can't stop me." he finished. Klaus then gave a small push to Amaya's shoulder and dissappeared through the hallway. Letiel: (menacingly?) Amaya: *trying to compose herself* Celahir: *puts the weapon away* Milady, you should go get some rest. Amaya: *nods and heads back to her room* Soul: Soul whimpered in his sleep. Klaus stopped when he was hidden an angry look in his face. "Just wait, boy, you just wait." Letiel: Celahir: *relaxes and enters Soren's room with a sigh* That could've been bad *closes the door behind him* Soul: Soul turns in his sleep, nad begins breathing heavily. Letiel: Celahir: *notes Soul's breathing and walks over to the closet* *gets a few thick blankets and covers both Soul and Niika* *goes to window and sits on the sill, watching the storm get worse* Soul: (I think the funeral needs to end or continue so that something can happen.) Letiel: (I agree but idk what Moy is doin' with this stom) Xiomara: "Don't yell at her," Leif's voice adopted venomous edge when he turned to acknowledge the irate adolescent. "I won't forgive you," he admonished cagily, "if you upset River." "Xiomara," Kite nudged the pallid adolescent forcefully. "There isn't much time left," apprehension flared behind the impatience smoldering in his coal black gaze, which startled her back into reality. She tilted her head backwards to scrutinize the clouds drifting overhead into night before returning her attention to the bickering trio at the base of the hill. "Leif," Xiomara motioned towards the expanse beyond her. "Let's go." River: River saw Leif be motioned and turned to glare at Current. "I'm going with Leif," she finalized. Current just stared. He couldn't believe it. This kid was more important to her than being with him. Leif even had the guts to yell and stand up to him. "...," current had nothing to say. He felt like the 'bad-guy'. (let's get them out of the clearing ) Moyashi: (=D storms...i love them....well...if you want to know blow by blow of what i'm planning with the storms....just ask..i'll be glad to tell you ^^) Niika: ~lifts head up and looks at Celahir~ What happened out there? Moyashi: ~as she runs over the bridge she looks for a safe place...her decision is between a nearby boat, and a run down brick house, she had to be quick, she stops running for a moment~ Boat of Building?...Personally, the Boat is safer but i don't know how ya'll do on ships....~notes the increase of the storm~ We only have a few minuets!! Lightning struck the furious ocean waves and sparks flew into the air. Roofs were being thrown off of small buildings and objects were being thrown everywhere. Winds were reaching speeds of over 80 mph. Streets were over flooding with water. boats that had been tied to the docks were being thrown into buildings. Soul: Soul trembled slightly and moved closer to Niika. (Again, I'll control Azar) "I'm fine on the boat! Whatever keeps us safer!" Moyashi: Moyashi: ~smiles and looks a little worridly at the boat~ Alright boat it is!!! ~runs over to it and waves~ Come on or we'll be sucked in the storm! Niika: ~slides over and has Soul lean on her shoulder keeping one hand over his shoulder and on his head~ Soul: Azar runs behind Moyashi. Soul's breathing calms down a bit, and his mouth twitches in a small smile. "Mommy." he mutters Moyashi: Moyashi: ~touches the boat and decides it will survive the storm~ Come On! We Have To Untie It and Get it Sailing before it crashes into the city! Niika: ~her face flushes a little and she strokes Souls hair, not as to calm him, but to calm herself~ Soul: Azar suddenly remembers the missing aprt of the group as she touched the boat. "What will happen to Ra-chan and Niika?" (we are the only ones there, right?) Soul smiles a bit more, before his expression changes to a frown. Moyashi: (i'm not sure.....oh...btw...just assume that Raz's character followed Moy...cause she's been gone a while..and i dub control of her character ^^ i helped create her anyway) Moyashi: ~turns around while untieng a part of the boat from the dock~ Niika and the rest went back to the mansion with...Soren's body.... Niika: ~closing her eyes she leans her head back on the wall and continues stroking Soul's hair~ Soul: Azar nods. "I know that. I saw them leave. but what will happen to them? are they safe?" Soul suddenly bolts with a scream, and then starts breathing heavily once more. Moyashi: (note that with these winds..you have to yell at the character right next to you ^^) Moyashi: ~nods, untieing another line~ Most Likely they are fine! Niika: ~lifts arm away from soul, then gently sets it back down~ Soul: Azar looks worried for a second, bur nods again, "Okay! I'll trust you!" Soul, whose eyes opened only halfway, touched his left knee lightly, wincing in pain. The dark bags under his eyes marking a bit more. Moyashi: Moyashi: Well that was strait forward.....~not used to people trusting her at all (theifpirate...can we say untrustworthy? xD) ~ Come on, get in the boat quick and get below deck! Niika: Ya'lright Soul? ~she asks concerned~ Soul: Azar grins "Well! We have to trust each other now!" she yells ans she jumos on the boat. Soul shakes his head. "My knee hurts a lot" he mutters Moyashi: Moyashi: ~smiles and nods untieing the last rope and uses the water around her to lift herself up to the boat~ Alright! ~sets Raz to do something, and runs to the helm to get the boat under control~ Hold on! Niika: ~sits up on her knees~ May i have a look? Soul: Azar grabs a nearby pole. Soul looks away for a second, considering it, but finally nods when a white hot pain runs through his knee and extends to the rest of the leg. Moyashi: Moyashi: ~laughs~ You can go Below Deck! I got this! ~she yells up at the sky like her old shipmates would~ Is this all you got?!?!? Niika: ~nods and gently touches Souls knee~ (whats wrong with it?) Soul: "You sure?!" yells Azar. Soul winces at the touch (A sprain in the anterior cruciate ligament:The ACL connects your femur to your tibia at the center of the knee.) Moyashi: Moyashi: ~smiles at Azar through the storm~ Do you trust me?! ~she yells over the wind steering the ship out of port (for a visual: she's gripping the Helm so hard her knuckles are white....shes holding on for dear life ^^ so she doesn't get blown away) Niika: ~feels around the leg from the ankle to the knee seeing where the pain is most increased~ (shes had some medical..but not much...she wont be able to do much) Soul: "If you feel like you can do it!" Soul whimpers as his leg gets tested. (That's fine, he was suppossed to be hurt) (Ok, I'm going to bed.) Moyashi: Moyashi: ~smile widens~Well I do!! No ones ever trusted me this much...not even dad.... ~she looks at the sky as a lightning strike hits the port where they were~ Well There's no turning back now! Niika: ~she stops~ How long has this been hurting?...it seems like its more swollen in this area ~she points to the shin~ (mk night then) Letiel: Celahir: *listening to the two* Conar: *standing on shore, confused* I feel like I missed something.... *turns and lopes back into town* Soul: Azar nods "Right! Good luck!" She turns to look at Conar as he runs back to town. But after thinking for a second she goes to the deck below. "Since the fight with Kazuki." Soul says simply, slightly looking up to look at Celahir. Letiel: Celahir: *twitches at the name but says nothing* Soul: "Sir... what's worng?" Soul asked, wincing at the pain in his knee. Letiel: Celahir: Nothing, Rachyr.... You should get some rest. Conar: *slips into a mostly empty building a bit disgruntled* What a bother, this storm. Xiomara: Leif balked at his own blatant show of disrespect. “Well,” he stammered while frantically flailing his arms, “I’m not trying to wedge between you and River! No, no, no!” He paused momentarily course, being brother River can do whatever mistake, and it drove thinks is…” to muse up the correct terms to explain himself, “Of and sister is more important! I’m just saying that she wants.” The light-haired adolescent recognized his his panic further, “Ah! I meant she can do whatever she “Right?” Xiomara suggested drily from her situate atop the hillcrest. “Your voice really is stupid,” she barked with evident exasperation burning in her ocher eyes. “And you’re slow, too. Hurry up!” “What can he possibly repay you with?” Kite massaged his temples tiredly. “He’s such an idiot,” he turned his back to them and began to climb down the mound of earth and grass. Xiomara hesitated to make one final impatient gesture. “I’ll drag you by your ears,” she threatened, “if you walk any slower.” Leif watched her disappear over the hill blankly. “I think I was called an idiot,” his cheeks were flushed with embarrassment, “at least four times during those last few remarks.” (I’m sorry, Current! I honestly didn’t intend on making you look bad! D: Take confidence in Leif’s idiocy and vent your rage towards Xiomara and Kite.) River: (ahh don't worry about it! i was just pointing out how even supposively 'good-guys' have their gray areas Current was not offened at all ) River patted Leif on the back for his name-callings. She lightly tugged his shirt to move forward and follow Xiomara and Kite. She gave a glance at Current. He stood there and blinked several times. He couldn't help but smile at Leif's unorganized remarks dispite the tension. River gave him a small glance as she and Leif walked away. Current looked down to the ground momentarily. He spotted the purple flower (miraculously still in place) and picked it up. He sighed and followed the adolcents wishing his temper wasn't so bad. “Her elder brother,” Kite reported dutifully after casting a quick glance over his shoulder, “is coming, too. Is safe to allow him to join us?” The older adolescent gave no verbal acknowledgement until Kite repeated his query. “Stay or go,” Xiomara replied without her usual enthusiasm, “as he likes.” She fixed her gaze sternly on the earth beneath her feet, “I can’t afford to lose more time with petty arguments.” “There’s still time,” Kite soothed, struggling to keep up with his partner’s hurried saunter. “You didn’t seem worried before. What’s the matter?” his query was responded with a pointed look and curt gesture towards their reluctant companions. “You can trust me,” Xiomara said earnestly upon catching the shadow that flickered across his wan features. “I don’t have any reason to lie to you. Yet,” she added with her trademark grin.” He bobbed his head in reply. ‘It’s safe to trust Xiomara,’ he was startled by the certainty of his decision, but swallowed it. River: Current ran up to River and Leif. River looked startled but Current put a hand on her shoulder. "I'm coming along, whether you like it or not." He gave a small smile to her and Leif. River smiled hugely back and hugged Current. She felt him put something in her hair. She smiled again when she realized it was the flower. River walked on with a light skip in her step. Current took this chance to look at Leif. He caught his eye and sent a look of understanding to him, almost a way of saying sorry for his temper. Xiomara: Leif stretched his lips into a timid smile. ‘I’m so tired,’ he rubbed his eyes to keep the sleep out of them, ‘and my throat is dry from arguing all night.’ He watched the older adolescent march relentlessly towards the beams of morning light peering over the horizon. ‘They’re not human,’ the light-haired adolescent crabbed inwardly. ‘No human being could walk that fast without a blink of sleep.’ Leif exhaled heavily and forced him to tail after his companions despite the screams of protests that his limbs made. River: River was quite tired but trudged on not wanting to slow people down. She looked back at Leif and realized his weariness. She allowed him to catch up to her. "Maybe some conversation to keep us up?" she suggested. Current listened as River quietly rambled on to Leif. He could swear she talked about the oddest things. Xiomara: “Sure,” Leif tried to steady himself from collapsing onto the floor. He tersely contemplated of their older companions’ reaction if he fell over or suggested that they rest. ‘They probably wouldn’t take it very well,’ he allowed his arms to dangle before his teetering form. ‘And as much as I like River,’ Leif’s mouth stretched into a yawn, ‘I’m never going to be able to carry on a conversation in this state. I can barely walk.’ The light-haired adolescent raised his head towards the creeping rays of sunlight with visible despair. ‘This is payment for all the conning I’ve done, isn’t it?’ Xiomara was keenly aware that half of their group was beginning to lag behind them. “Dead weight,” she muttered scornfully and continued to dismiss their growing fatigue. “Aren’t you tired, Kite?” she abruptly craned her neck upwards to acknowledge Kite. He’d managed to erase every last detail marking exhaustion, but Xiomara could sense him faltering by his slowness to respond to her queries. “Let’s stop here,” Xiomara announced upon reaching the edge of the forest. “We should make it to the docks tomorrow if we rest now.” (I need to take leave for tonight. to the day after. Ciao!) I won’t be online tomorrow, but should be able River: (ok, until then ) The leader of the newly formed group comanded to rest and no one complained. Current flopped down, took off his backpack and fashioned it into a pilllow. He lazily looked at the peaking rays and held his hands behind his head. River heard Xiomara say something about a break and she sat down immediatly on some soft, tall grasses. She figgited around a bit untill she decided it was sleep-able. She laid down for a moment and then got up. She moved over to Current and tugged on his shirt. Current groaned, but moved his backpack over to the grasses. He positioned himself again, finding the grasses much more comfortable than the dirt. A slight "opff" came from him as River carelessly threw her head onto his stomache. He was reminded of the old days and smiled at her child-like-ness. Moyashi: Moyashi: ~saw Conar leave towards the town~ What is he doing? This storm is going to... ~A lightning strike distracted her thoughts as she turned the ship as best she could~ Niika: Well, i don't think i can do anything for it...you should just rest for now ~she stands up, walks over to Celahir and talks lightly to him~ What happened out there? you seem on edge sir.... Soul: Soul nods and rests his back against the wall, closing his eyes to try to sleep, however he is listening to the conversation. Letiel: Celahir: Just a curious noble. Nothing to worry about. Conar: *immediately makes himself at home* Soul: "Sir, even I heard screaming." Moyashi: Niika: ~nods respectfully~ Yes sir, but i couldn't help but overhear.... Moyashi: ~keeping the ship under control in the ferocious storm~ Letiel: Celahir: That was just Amaya. She tends to over exaggerate the little things. All is well. Conar: *drying off* Well, this is a set-back Xiomara: Xiomara waited until Leif withdrew into deep slumber before relaxing against the support of a large tree trunk. Unlike her companions, no exhaustion weighed down her eyelids, which would hopefully help her keep her promised vigil until noontide. A frown appeared on her pallid features when the wisps of water vapor began to contort into fierce thunderclouds. A storm could delay their excursion further, which would not play in Xiomara’s favor in the slightest. “Be patient,” Xiomara quickly extinguished the frustration beginning to snap its fiery teeth at her heels. “You will not fail.” River: Current was not asleep yet. He lied in the grasses with River sound asleep on his chest. He titled his head over to see Xiomara. "Fail at what?" he asked quietly not to wake River. "What is the mission anyway?" Xiomara: Xiomara feigned tiredness. “That can be discussed tomorrow,” she measured the wariness in Current’s glower before adding. “We need to make it to the docks by tomorrow’s dawn. I’d get some sleep.” She felt Kite shift beside her, and leaned forward so the wan adolescent could lean comfortably against her. “I’ll wake you up when it’s time. Don’t worry about getting left behind.” River:(I hope its ok if we have a little time-skip ) Everyone got up early the next morning. River stepped lightly with her new energy feeling slight raindrops on her head. Her purple flower was wilting so she searched along the way for a new one. The odd group walked together for quite a while. Current remembered his previous question and asked again. He felt River come up behind him to listen also. She was half in the conversation and half on the lookout for a flower. Soul: Soul nods, though not fully believing the story. He stands up and limps over to the bed, taking. Some hair out of Soren's forehead before placing a kiss in it. "Rest well, Onii-chan" he murmured Xiomara: Kite shifted into and of out the group uneasily. He was unaccustomed to traveling in groups, and especially disliked remaining in the company of his former adversaries. “Why are we going to the docks?” the light-haired adolescent’s voice rose over Current’s query, and suffocated it. “I thought we were returning to your-,” he shook his head before amending, “our country.” “How else do you expect to cross the ocean?” Kite retorted dryly, though the question was directed towards him. “Did you plan on walking there?” Leif whirled his head towards Kite. “I don’t remember my homeland,” he defended indignantly. “I don’t remember my parents either,” his fury sobered quickly. (It’s alright. It’s probably better that way.) Letiel: Celahir: *watches Soul carefully then turns back to the window* Amaya: *huddled in the corner of her room, crying* River: (ok ) River forgot about the search for a flower and put a comforting hand on Leif's shoulder. She looked at him and smiled. "Don't worry." Her eyes gave off comfort as the rain drizzled. "How are we getting a boat?" Current asked. "Do you have one already, money, or by other means?" He raised his eyebrow implying stealing a boat. edit: (sorry but i must leave. I'll try to be on tomorrow night ) Soul: "Sir" Soul says loking at Celahir, "Is it beter if I go now? You didn't want me here in the first place." Klaus stands just outside the door, waiting. Letiel: Celahir: You are Soren's friend. I'm sure he would want you to stay. *he looks out into the yard and points* That bush you too lit on fire never grew back. I don't know if you would remember that Rachyr... Soul: Soul smiles, remembering. "I do." he said "I don't remember any details though." Xiomara: Xiomara choose to respond to the light-haired adolescent’s remark. “You don’t need to remember such things,” she brushed a soggy strand of hair out of her face. “The past is insignificant in comparison to the present and future. Leif ignored the slight warning in her tone, and pursued the subject further. “You said you knew them,” he leaned forward eagerly. “Where you close to them? What were they like?” “I don’t remember,” Xiomara replied bluntly. “And we can probably barter for a boat,” she added, turning her attention towards Current. (I need to get offline now. I’ll see you tomorrow. Ciao!) Letiel: Celahir: Which is why you don't remember me. *he pointed to another spot* You both would spar there while Amaya would watch from her window. There's where you broke the wall... Soul: "I was a chaotic child wasn't I?" Soul sighed cracking hos neck. "Though... Why do you mean by that's why I don't remember you?" Letiel: Celahir: I was Soren's babysitter. I watched you both and you don't remember me. *shrugs* I'm just a detail I suppose. *gets up* Stay here Rachyr. You will disappoint more than just Soren if you leave. Soul: Soul frowns but nods anyway. Klaus. Crosses his arms over his chest, still waiting. Letiel: Celahir: *opens the door and leaves the room, closing the door behind him he notices Klaus* I thought we told you to leave Soul: "You did." He answers simply. "But then I realized that you were capable of hidding him, so I plan of staying here." Letiel: Celahir: *scowls* The boy is under our protection. You can't hurt him here. Soul: "I'm not hurting him am I?" he smirks " And I Will not hurt him here, I'll take him away and kill him somewhere esle." Soul Curiously walked over to the door and placed his ear against it. Letiel: Celahir: You can't take him from this property without permission. Amaya will never allow it. Soul: Klaus frowned and grabbed Celahir by his collar. Pinning him to the door. "Oh, but you don't want her to interfere." the man warned. "I will take Rachyr with me. Soul tensed behind the door "Klaus" he whisered as a tear rolled down his cheek. Letiel: Celahir: *gasps with surprise and grabs Klaus' wrist* You don't want to fight me here. Soul: "I think you've got the info wrong." the man said pressing Celahir some more "you're the one who doesn't want to figjt me." Moyashi: Niika: ~sitting on window seal watching the storm and asks soul~ So whats really going on in the hall? Letiel: Celahir: *tightens grip on Klaus' wrist* Let me go. Soul: "Make me." Soul looks at the girl through his tears, but is unable to answer, instead he just signals at her to come over. Letiel: Celahir: *knees Klaus in the gut and pushes off the wall* Moyashi: Niika: ~sighs, stands up and quietly walks over to the door listening~ Soul: Klaus grunts at the hit, but quickly recovers with a growl and makes a fire ball, lauching it at Celahir. Moyashi: Niika: What the hell?.... ~can feel the fireball~ (she was from the fire sector ^^) Soul: Soul looks at the girl with scared eyes. "He is looking for me." Letiel: Celahir: *gasps and dodges* Are you crazy?! I could have you arrested for that! Amaya: *hears the scuffle and rushes to the hallway* !!! *snaps her fingers and puts out the fire* Stop that this instant! Soul: "Why?! Why are you trying to protect him?! he is nothing but scum! If you don't get out of my way I will have to take him by force." Letiel: Amaya: Because I love him! *is crying* Soul: "Aww, really?" He makes a face, immitating Amaya's "Who cares!? I'm tired of being the good guy! Either you take him out of there or I will! and you don't want to interrupt the funeral, do you?" Soul shakes with fear as he sobs. He wraps his arms around himself and feels his body go a bit weaker. Soon he looks at Soren's body. Moyashi: Niika: ~now standing half listening half looking at Soul~ Why...in hell....does he want to kill soul?.... ~she squats down next to soul and puts her hand on his shoulder and smiles softly~ Its going to be alright, Mistress Amaya and Sir Celahir wont let him.....and neither will I. Soul: "You don't know him." Soul whispers. "I... if it means that he won't hurt any of you... maybe I should go with him." Moyashi: Niika: ~smile fades~ No, you cant go with him.....~she looks over at Soren's body and back at Soul~...Even though i didn't get to really know him....i know he wouldn't let anyone just kill you....~she smiles softly again~...Soul....i wont let him kill you.. Razaica: (80 I hate you ppl.....9 pages!!! urgh. Intruiging tho) *sneaks below deck at first chance, passinf Azar soundlessley* Urgh...I hope Moyashi doesn't try anything....fun....last time....I don't even want to remember *wanders belowdeck, having little success keeping upright. Finally decides to sit hidden in a bunch of crates, comfortable* Fushicho: *coalesces into bird form on shoulder, lighting up and warming immediate area* It's been a long day. With a longer one ahead. Raz: Thanks....I think. At least I know you'll never leave. *somehow warmly calmed by the thought, settles down and starts to nod off somehow* Fushicho: No, you're right about that. I'll never leave again. *last sentence a whisper of thought just caught before sleep washes over Raz* Letiel: Amaya: Absolutely not! I will fight you myself if I must! *shaking* Celahir: *refuses to move from in front of the door* Conar: *waiting for the storm to stop* This puts me behind schedule... Soul: Klaus smirks and gets into an attacking position. Without saying a word, he creates water around his hands, and launches the substance at the pair. Soul nods until he hears noise at the other side of the door. At that moment, he painfully moves away from the door. Letiel: Amaya: *uses her own abilities to cancel out the water attack* Celahir: *draws a knife and moves in close to Klaus coming in from the left* Soul: Klaus jumps out of the way and kicks Celahir's stomach. Then he launches fire at Amaya. Letiel: Amaya: *cancels the fire* Celahir: *absorbs the blow a bit but is forced to back up* *Moves around Klaus so the enemy is surrounded* Soul: Klaus extends his arms to both sides of his body and closes his hands. The floor begins to shake, and some struncure begins to fall. Letiel: Amaya: *takes a defensive stance and uses earth to cancel out Klaus' attack* Celahir: *closes the distance and stabs at Klaus' back* Soul: Klaus grunts and kicks Celahir's face. Without taking the knife out, he punches Amaya's face before falling to his knees and reaching for the door. Letiel: Amaya: *staggers back, holding her now bleeding nose and whimpering* Celahir: *gets up quickly and kicks Klaus in the side, pushing him away from the door* Soul: Klaus grunts and growls, taking the knife out of his back, he analyzes his options. Frowning deeply, he electrifies the knife and throws it at Amaya before dissapearing in a tornado of fire. Anotherfalleneve: (can some pm the story of teh last few pages in a nutshell? i wanna jump but i dont feel like scrollin down through all of the stuff. maybe a paragraph or 2 xD) Letiel: Celahir: *pushes Amaya out of the way, taking the knife in the left shoulder* *cries out and passes out due to the shock* Amaya: *crying from hurt and at the sight of Celahir* Soul: Soul finally opens the door when he hears crying, bracing himself is Klaus were to attack him. "Ama-chan?" he whispers his face still full of dirt and cuts from the last battle River: Current lowered his brow. "Should we get some food and stock up before we leave?" he asked thinking a step ahead... yet being oblivious to River's dissaperance into the grasses.\ Xiomara: “Probably,” Xiomara ferreted through satchel while replying to his query. “I don’t think anyone carries the rations to feed this number.” “Can we afford that?” Kite recognized a mischievous glint in his partner’s stare. “Don’t lie,” he added guardedly. She adjusted the cloth wrapped around her forehead without verbal response. “I hope we’re all experienced thieves,” Xiomara couldn’t conceal the broad grin that stretched across her face, “unless someone’s going to fork up more cash.” Kite’s face met his palm. ‘I knew it.’ (Pit stop at market before boarding?) River: (let's do it! haha) "I have some money... but we better save it for other things..." Current mumbled. He thought back to the hard work he had to do to earn his small fortune. Some of his acts might not have been "justified", but it was to survive. The rain still drizzled lightly upon the group as they walked slightly downhill. Current could see the harbor and the small village surrounding. Many poeple bustled around carrying carts of seafood and other marketable things. He looked at Xiomara and nodded. Letiel: Amaya: *holding onto Celahir's shirt and crying, wide-eyed* Celahir: Rachyr, I wouldn't come out here until we're sure he's gone. *delicately picks up Amaya despite her protests* *croons to her* Suki, it's all right. *starts walking to her room* Let's take care of that pretty nose of yours. Xiomara: “We’ll split up,” Xiomara gaze upon the clouded sky without shielding her eyes, “and regroup here.” Kite raised his brow quizzically at her reluctance to depart immediately. “Look at the water,” she replied while gesturing impatiently towards the waves thrashing against the wooden docks. “It’s too dangerous to travel.” Xiomara suppressed her returning frustration and turned towards her companions. “Try to gather as much as you can,” she half-slid down the rock face towards the fishing town. “And don’t get caught. I expect you all back soon.” River: Current watched Xiomara stealthly take off. "Alright River, what will you need?" No response. Current turned to Leif. "Where is she?" Leif just smiled. Xiomara: Kite scrutinized the remaining company with palpable mistrust before disappearing into the downpour towards the fishing town. The light-haired adolescent recognized his departure upon the sudden absence of a sullen air the hung over the group. ‘Why’s he always so angry?’ Leif praised his absence silently and began to turn from side to side for the teal-eyed healer. Leif cupped his hands over his mouth to amplify his voice. “River! I’ll wait for you at the bottom of the ravine,” he squinted through the light drizzle before inching cagily down the hill of tall rocks. River: "Ohh!" River said out loud when she heard Leif. She wandered off from the group to pick some flowers and must have been gone awhile. She giggled at her mistake, picked up her handfull of flowers and made her way down hill. "Coming!" she called. Current grunted slightly. He was irritated by her carelessness but was also worried. He followed Leif. Anotherfalleneve: Bran: *stumbles inside a seemingly abandoned trying to escape from the rain* this town is crazy. Letiel: Conar: *hears a door slam and immediately hides in the shadows of the adjacent room* Moyashi: (oi..Xio and River....did you miss the storm part?...its still going....and its HUGE....you should be in it somewhere...^^ .) Moyashi: ~getting serious now she maneuvers the boat through waves and lightning strikes~ Those bastards should see me now! She thinks to herself. Niika: ~Standing in doorway~ Soul, come on back in here....you could get hurt out here River: (oh hehe my bad ^_^; umm... let's say our time is slightly behind yours ) Anotherfalleneve: Bran:*Walks into the middle of the main room and sits on some barrels thinking about the past few days and all of the pointless deaths there were* Letiel: Conar: *peeks around the corner and sighs* Oh good. It's just you, Bran. Anotherfalleneve: Bran:*jumps at the words* Oh. Conar!? arent you supposed to be on the boat? *relaxes* Letiel: Conar: *confused* There was a boat? *comes and sits by Bran* Anotherfalleneve: Bran:*sighs* yeah i was eavesdropping on them. It seems like Moy wanted to get out of town. I thought i'd stay here. There's something thats been bothering me for the past few days and i wanted to think it out. Letiel: Conar: I didn't even know there was a boat ^_^; oops... maybe I can help you out Anotherfalleneve: Bran:*looks at conar* Hm you seem to have to recovered fast. To think that you just lost your brother and best friend in the last 2 days. *sighs* why do i feel so down when i barely even knew them? Letiel: Conar: *looks down sadly* Naturally it hurts. I'm trying to be light-hearted for the others though. It's my job isn't it? To be the comic relief? Anotherfalleneve: Bran: Well you are good at making people laugh i'll give you that.... but thats not all you are good at. You actually seem like a pretty smart kid Conar. Letiel: Conar: *shrugs* I guess so but who would really believe that? Anotherfalleneve: Bran: You dont give yourself enough credit. i talked a bit with your older brother. He seemed to think you were an evil genius! *laughs* I know you are smart but i dont think you have a mean bone in your body Conar. *slaps Conars shoulder* Letiel: Conar: Yeah... *looks at the floor* My brother... He went crazy when we were little Anotherfalleneve: Bran:*solemnly looks down* but the thing is... he didnt really seem that crazy to me.. He seemed pretty level headed... Tho i could sense some malice towards you.... *sighs* i donno he just... *trails off* Letiel: Conar: Yeah... *trails off* Letiel: Conar: *serious* What about him? Anotherfalleneve: Bran:*shakes his head* its nothing I'm probably wrong.... dont worry about it. Letiel: Conar: *looks at Bran* Wrong about wut? Anotherfalleneve: Bran: *looks at conar* He didnt seem like the kind of guy that would be doing the stuff he did with out good reason.... Thats just what i felt. *shifts a little uncomfortable under Conars gaze* why does my opinion on kazuki count to you? Letiel: Conar: *looks back down* I'm just surprised you'd consider a madman's words to be true. It's a good thing he's dead. Anotherfalleneve: Bran: I'm just saying that he didnt seem all that crazy... and you stated that he was... what happened between you guys back then? Soul: Soul looks at Niika "O-okay." he slowly, weakly, comes back into the room. Razaica: Raz: *asleep among crates miraculously not tipping over yet* Unknown: *also sleeping among crates, but with a bkanket and pillow in another room. Wakes up to a crate in the face* What th-! Idiots! Why didn't they wa-*tirade is cut off as he realizes it's still night and the crew or his guards aren't back yet. Eyes narrow. Sets off stealthily to search the ship* Moyashi: Niika: ~helps Soul back in the room and closes the door behind them~ Don't worry, She'll be fine, Cehalir will take good care of her...lets get some rest. Moyashi: ~Smiling again when she manages to get through a set of huge waves~ I can still see the city...we're not to far off...we should be safe at this distance... Soul: Soul nods, a tear sliding down his cheek. "That was scary." Razaica: (On a side note...I'm back!!) Letiel: Celahir: *taking care of Amaya in her room* Conar: Just stuff. Anotherfalleneve: Bran:*takes his napsack off and empties out the contents that are soaking wet* Just stuff? Well if you dont want to tell me you dont have to... Though from whats been happening it would seem more appropriate not to down play that "stuff" that happened *wrings the water out of his sleeves* Letiel: Conar: He went nuts, I was fine. End of story. Atotherfalleneve: Bran: *shrugs as he turns to his belongings. Bran flipped through his journal making sure it wasn't damaged* Well its not like its my business i guess.... *sighs* Letiel: Conar: *a little cold* No it's not. Anotherfalleneve: Bran:*Surprised at Conars tone* this is definitley not the same conar i met a few days ago * gathers up some wood and debris to make a fire* Letiel: Conar: *perks up* Let me help Anotherfalleneve: Bran: *shakes his head* its fine Conar I've got it. You should rest.. *walks off to grab more wood trying to think over the convo* Something doesnt seem right Letiel: Conar: *tucks a knife up his sleeve* ...What else did kazuki tell you? Anotherfalleneve: Bran:*at the corner of the room picking up a broken chair* I thought you said this was none of my business Conar... no need to bring up bad memories. *hunches over to grab some more wood* Letiel: Conar: What he told you is hardly a memory. What did he tell you? Xiomara: (I think the climate varies, because our characters are presently situated elsewhere from yours, Moyashi.) The fierce downpour masked the scents that usually wafted from the marketplace, but Xiomara still recognized the pungent smell of rotting fish. A distasteful frown marked her pallid features, and she swiveled towards the booths away from it. She approached a wooden vendor selling baked goods and inquired the rotund man behind it before he could give his customary greeting. “Is it fresh?” Xiomara ducked under the umbrella shielding the baker and bread from the inclement weather. “Right out of the oven,” he regarded her with slight suspicion, but brightened when she withdrew coppery coins from her satchel. “You won’t find better rations elsewhere,” he accepted the money and counted it while the shadowy adolescent scrutinized each loaf carefully. “I’ll take these,” Xiomara gestured towards the pastries situated farthest under the umbrella. He lifted them out of the cart and packaged them in a tall paper bag at a remarkable speed. She slid them beneath her ebony cloak before returning to the market, which was still bustling with life despite the rain. River: The rain was pouring hard and Current had almost slipped a few times following Leif. They got to their destination and waited. Current watched the waves crash. River popped out of the forest looking like a ghost with her hair flying every which way. Current jumped a bit at the site of her. She held a giant handful of flowers varying in colors and shapes. She seemed to float across to them (the rain made things hard to see). River looked at them with her teal eyes behind her hair. "Come on," she said in a slight shacky voice, "let's go into town. The buildings should sheild the rain a bit." River shivered and led the way. Current watched River lead the way. He questioned her silly plants. "Flowers?" he asked Leif. Xiomara: Leif’s expression was equally bewildered. “You’re going to catch a cold,” he chastised while tailing behind the turquoise-eyed medic, “if you keep wandering off like that.” He quickly averted his attention towards the numerous vendors dotting the marketplace and dissolved into the scents and sights. The light-haired adolescent cringed when he recognized the unpleasant aroma of putrid raw goods. “Can we look for someone who works with glass?” he removed his goggles situated atop his head and tapped delicately on a large scratch marring the transparent surface. “Or plastic,” he amended when scrutinizing the tinted exterior thoughtfully. River: Current nodded. He briefly murmered the signs outloud and directed the group farther into the village, stopping at a small shop. "You two go in," he said handing them money. "I'm going to get some medicine." Current gave a small look at River and she sniffed. River watched Current disappear into the crowd. "Medicine? What for? I'm fineeee," she lied. She gave a weak smile to Leif and walked into the shop. Xiomara: Leif delicately pressed the glass door forward to admit himself and partner into the shadowy store. “Hello?” he stood on the ends on his toes to peer over tall stands of numerous bottles and flasks. “Is anyone here?” “Don’t shout,” he emitted a startled yelp at the familiar reprimand. “The owner’s not here,” Leif stared up into the mercenary’s ocher stare. “Ah! What’re you doing here?” he tried to spy at what Xiomara was clasping in her hands, but could not see through her thick coat. “Did you buy something?” Xiomara cuffed his head lightly in mild chastise. “Don’t be noisy,” she acknowledged River with a slight nod. “And don’t worry about food either. Kite saw to that.” She drew the hood of the dark attire over her head before quietly exiting the dusky shop. Leif watched her disappear into the swarm of persons clotting the marketplace outside. “I’m afraid of her,” he admitted to River. “I don’t know what to expect next.” (I need to get offline now. Ciao! I'll see you tomorrow.) Anotherfalleneve: braan: *looks up at Conar again* Well he said something about Soren.... and he didn't like how you were so close to him. But what do you care what your so called crazy brother thinks. Letiel: Conar: *tense* yeah... Crazy brother... River: River put her flowers down for a moment and patted Leif's shoulder. "Me too," she also admitted. "But you know what? cough She's not going to hurt us, so we don't need to worry about that." She smiled. She could tell Leif was going to protest, "I just know. I have a feeling we are safe for awhile from her... Now. Your googles? Hmm..." River walked off behind some shelves and dwelved into some boxes. (me too, bye!) Anotherfalleneve: Bran:*turns his back on Conar and cleans his kusarigama* Yeah ... crazy... i guess I'll never no since he died too early for me to give a better judgement of his character. *grips the hilt of his blade* why do i feel so uneasy? Letiel: Conar: *toys with the hilt of a knife* Yeah, a real shame... Poor Soren... He had so much to look forward to. Anotherfalleneve: Bran: *looks into his blades reflection at conar* Crap... stay calm .. *wipes blade clean and examines it again* so i've been wondering.. why exactly were you traveling with an elementalist? I know enough to realize that Shifters and my kind dont get along well with in the ranks. gotta keep this up a little longer... Letiel: Conar: *perfectly calm* He was a good friend. We met on the road and it seemed like a good idea at the time. Anotherfalleneve: Bran:That so huh..*picks up a flask examines it* do you drink? Letiel: Conar: Occasionally *shrugs* ...How long do you think this storm is going to last? *tries to hide impatient tone* Anotherfalleneve: Bran: heh beats me *pops open flask and chugs for a second and sets it down wiping his mouth* Whats the hurry? *a gassy odor wafts through the air from the flask* Its not like we have anything better to do. *turns towards Conar hand gripping his chain* Letiel: Conar: *eyes the chain warily* I just don't like storms. *holds knees to chest, eyes distant almost sad* Anotherfalleneve: Bran: *taken aback by the sad demeanor* i cant figure this kid out... is he playing with me? *starts stowing the chain away as he burps up a gassy smell* Letiel: Conar: *nods to the bottle* That stuff any good? Anotherfalleneve: Bran: Heh... its a little strong. im not sure if you could handle it.. and alcohol is not the way to drown out your sorrows buddy. *fiddles with the cork from the flask* Letiel: Conar: oh... But older people do it all the time... *sits down by Bran, leaning against his shoulder* Anotherfalleneve: Bran: *relaxes* this is all in my head the kids just going through some rough stuff I still do it... and it gets me nowhere... theres so much i wish i didnt do.... stuff that would make killing your brother like a stroll in the park. *snaps out of his recollection to notice Conar leaning against him* Letiel: Conar: Kazuki needed to die. He knew way to much for his own crazy brain to handle Anotherfalleneve: Bran: *tenses up at those words* knew too much? Letiel: Conar: *tenses as well* He liked to get involved... with... drug dealers and stuff. Anotherfalleneve: Bran: drug dealers? *chuckles* why would a shifter of high status get involved with drugs? i cant tell if he's joking or not.. this kids so hard to read Letiel: Conar: *shrugs and gets up* Don't ask me. I'm not crazy. Regardless, he's dead. You'd be wise to forget him and anything he may have told you Anotherfalleneve: Bran: ...... yeah.... *stomach grumbles from the gasses* well I'm going to see how bad the storm is. You know to see how long this is gonna last.. *picks up napsack and walks to the entrance* Letiel: Conar: You know, I think I'll come with you... *grabs his stuff and follows* Anotherfalleneve: Bran: *opens up the door to reveal no change in the current situation* this kid is giving me the creeps gotta find a way to ditch him and get my thoughts straight *looks back at conar* It still sucks out there. Letiel: Conar: So come back in. We can wait it out. Anotherfalleneve: Bran: Well... its been nice chatting with you... but i've got something important to...check on.. *starts stepping towards the door* Letiel: Conar: You'd leave me here and brave the storm? Are you alright Bran? Xiomara: The light-haired adolescent nodded his head numbly in response before looking over her shoulder to peer at the boxes she opened. “I don’t think it would help any even if we stole them,” the dimly lit store caused the sheen to tint the glass lenses in the cardboard container. “I don’t know how to punch them into the frame,” she coughed in response, which caught his attention immediately. “You’re getting sick,” Leif accused when her voice dropped into a hoarse rasp. “I told you should have bought warmer clothing,” he shook his head in companionable exasperation and tried to conceal his relief that the any reoccurrence of the first topic had been averted. “Who’s there?” a loud voice was muffled by the oaken door behind the counter, but retained its volume. “Are you back? I told you that I don’t know anything!” He met River’s gaze and raised his eyebrow curiously. “Let’s scram,” Leif grated out through gritted teeth. He helped rearrange the boxes onto the cabinet and then scurried out the door after her. “Let’s find a place for warmer clothing,” he reminded her mildly about her unfortunate condition. “We can stop there before returning to the group.” Anotherfalleneve: Bran: Im fine Conar *flicks wrist and starts the fire* enjoy the fire. I have some pressing matters to attend to. *turns away to leave* Letiel: Conar: *whines and tugs on Bran's sleeve* Please don't go! Soul: Soul sighs "Maybe it's better if I go with Ama-chan..." he whispers. Klaus jumped out the the cieling and hid in some bushes near the entrance. Letiel: Celahir: *helping Amaya reset her nose* Looks like it broke a little there. Shouldn't take long to heal though Amaya: *holding a washcloth to her nose* It hurts! Celahir: Try not to mess with it. River: River was stubborn with admitting she was sick. She didn't want to be trouble-some. Leif's persitance presuaded her though and she nodded. On her way out she retained the flowers back into her hands. She walked quietly next to Leif dodging people in the street. "I think I'd like a small bag too..." she mused outloud and shivered. Xiomara: “Let’s hurry,” Leif returned his goggles to their place atop his head. “I don’t think they’ll take it too well,” he stretched the elastic band of the shaded spectacles to curl around his head, “if we’re late.” He stuffed his gloved hands into his pockets while sauntering through the rain and companionable silence between them. ‘I wonder what she was doing there,’ he weighed the possibilities on an invisible scale, but brushed them away hastily and dove into multiple clothing racks shielded from the downpour. ‘And if it’s any of my business to be curious.’ Leif was silently relieved that they’d managed to evade getting soaked further. ‘I hope Current bought cough medicine,’ he cast an anxious glance towards River. ‘I don’t think this’ll be the last time we’ll be slogging through rain.’ River: (ahhh! sorry i'm on late... again...he.he ) River peeped out of the clothing racks appearing in front of Leif's face. She held up a bag she found. Gray, lots of side pockets, with a single arm sling. She smiled and examined some clothes Leif picked out. Xiomara: (It’s alright. I might get offline earlier tonight though. I need to wake up early tomorrow, and I oversleep easily.) Leif quickly exited the tent after making their purchases. “I still hate shopping,” he carped loudly, “unless it’s for food. I hope we didn’t take too long.” He swiveled his head from side to side for something signaling the present hour. “There we are,” he exclaimed and pointed towards a large clock tower peering over its neighboring buildings. ‘That’s strange,’ he scrutinized the signs before concentrating on the clock’s hands. ‘They’re all restaurants.’ “I think we should head back now,” Leif swung his knapsack over his back to balance the weight from solely his hand. “I can’t remember what time we started at,” he shuffled his feet anxiously before adding. “This would be the worst time to have a lapse.” River: "It would be," River agreed and coughed. Her new clothes and her gathered flowers were in the bag, safe from the rain. Current was situated at the meeting spot. He had the medicine and an asortment of other useful things. He waved as he saw Leif and River approach. (alrighty. By the way, I like the new icon and signature ) Xiomara: (Thank you! I was looking at Nuriko’s DA profile, and her latest image reminded me of my character, Klose. The quote is from The Little Prince, which is a classic I’ve fallen in love with.) Leif flailed his arm in response to his partner’s elder brother’s silent greeting. “They’re not here yet?” he looked around the clearing for them, but found neither adolescent absent from the soggy terrain. “It’s almost ironic,” the light-haired adolescent jerked around upon the unexpected response and bristled inwardly. “Where’s Xiomara?” Kite followed his tart remark with a query asking for the older technician. “She’s late,” Leif tried to flinch at the hostility that smoldered in his gaze. He pondered whether it was just a part of his morose nature or because of their previous scuffle upon their first encounter with one another. Kite didn’t respond to his reply in mute refusal to converse with his traveling companions. Leif seethed at his curt and dismissive behavior, but refrained from verbally attacking his older teammate. River: River titled her head at him. "I've been meaning to say I'm sorry," mustered her hoarse voice. "Don't be mad at Leif for my attack. he couldn't control me. Be mad at me, "she urged. Current rose and eyebrow. 'Attack?' He decided to dismiss his question. He searched through his bag for the medicine. edit: (I haven't heard of it. Worth looking up?) Xiomara: (Yes! It’s a prime example of great literature, but I had to reread the ending over and over again. I didn’t understand it then, and it’s still a mystery to me.) “You’re late,” Kite dismissed River’s apology to his annoyance and stared beyond them at the last member to their unlikely team. She did not respond immediately, and it seemed like she was studying the uncomfortable atmosphere wreathing around them. “I forgot,” Xiomara waved away her fault with a sheepish grin. “Can I make it up with dinner?” her friendly gesture startled Leif into accepting her offer. ‘She’s been acting unusually mild today,’ he rolled his eyes at the older adolescent’s erratic personality. ‘I really don’t know what to expect next.’ River: The girl was disappointed in Kite's mute response. Her head hung a bit low. Current smirked slightly at Xiomara's kind gesture, she must be kidding. He found the medicine but paused. "Are we going to be on the boat soon? Or are we going to rest here overnight? River needs medicine and it has some side effects..." 'Side effects...? River looked at Lief worriedly. (hehe, alrighty then) Xiomara: (I need to get offline now. I’ll see you tomorrow! I had fun writing this. Ciao!) “Food first!” Xiomara slumped onto the soggy loam and pulled out the purchased goods without waiting for her partners’ consent. She used the paper bags to place in replacement of plates and removed the cloth wound around her head for a napkin. “Have you forgotten to eat?” she blinked up at them curiously when only Leif sat down to join her to eat. “Suit yourselves,” Xiomara added before breaking off part of the bread for the younger technician. Leif and Xiomara shoveled food into their mouths, which caused them to receive strange stares from their companions. ‘They look alike, too,’ the irate adolescent rubbed his temples angrily as their recently purchased rations dwindled quickly. “Eh?” Leif scratched his light hair atop his head curiously. “Where’d all the food go?” the query was asked so cherubically that River and Current laughed, though it had the opposite effect on Kite. “Idiot! You ate all of it!” a vein throbbed in his forehead. “We just bought all of that! What’re you thinking?” Kite towered over his teammates while spitting accusations out furiously. The tense silence that followed afterwards was broken by Xiomara’s loud chewing. “Hey! These dumplings aren’t bad at all! “Xiomara!” Kite whipped his head towards her with a wrathful snarl. “You’re not making this any better!” She didn’t bother to swallow her food before replying. “So can I have yours, too?” River: Current let out a slight howling laughter. He punched Kite in the arm in a friendly manner. River laughed, coughed, and stumbled. She fell and tumbled into a sitting position laughing and coughing. Her hair bobbed up and down looking like a mop in the rain. Current put a steady hand on her and also one on Leif. "Moderation," he smiled chuckleing. He turned to Xiomara and asked, "Any more?" (I most likely won't be on tomorrow. Feel free to move the story along, either drastically or as is ) Moyashi: Niika: ~looks at Soul~ ...we should rest, if she wants us she'll come here...dont worry about it. Moyashi: ~a wave hits the side of the ship unexpectedly and she swings the ship around~ (raz this is where a crate falls on you...) Shit, i need to be paying attention to this!! The storm worsened. Rain poured so hard you couldn't two feet in front of you. Lighting was striking down every few seconds. Wind was almost intolerable. (Its like 2 hurricanes hitting Florida at once ^^) Soul: Soul looked into Niika's eyes and shook his head. "I'm sorry, but this is all my fault. I have to go see if she's all right." With that said, Soul stands up and limps over to the door, opens it, and makes his way to Amaya's room, at the end having to jump on one leg, unable to put weight into he other anymore. He knocks the door. Letiel: Celahir: *gets up and answers the door* Rachyr, you should be resting in the other room. Soul: "I know sir." he says "But I have to see if Ama-chan is okay. Please let me talk to her." Xiomara: (Alright. We’ll have Xiomara recklessly try to salvage time for them.) Xiomara missed his response by tearing another dumpling with her trenchant teeth. “I like vegetables,” she muttered through the mouthful. She relaxed as their mirth pushed aside the uncomfortable aura which had been enveloping the group previously. “Gross! Swallow your food before talking!” Xiomara dismissed their mild chastise and stuffed the rest of the dumpling past her teeth. “Let’s go,” she spoke again when her teammates leisurely finished their meals. “We’re very late,” Xiomara stuffed the remains into her satchel before rising upright onto her feet. “It’s still raining,” Leif turned his head towards the massing storm clouds beyond the horizon. “The storm’s coming this way, too. Isn’t it dangerous?” Xiomara hesitated, but shook it away by swinging her head from side to side fervently. “We can make it,” the determination that smoldered in her ocher stare encouraged her companions, “before it even looks at this side of the horizon.” Letiel: Celahir: *looks at Amaya then looks back* That's not a good idea Rachyr. Soul: "But why not? Please, I'm begging you. I have to see her." River: Current was wary but agreed. What else could he do? Argue with her? No. He chose a piece of food and munched on it as he started heading toward the docks. River coughed and stood up. She staggered to take a step and collasped. She moaned but laughed quietly to herself. Current saw his sister fall and slipped behind the group to help her up. He took her bag, slung it around himself, and supported one side of her. (I may and may not be on the regular time for this week. I'm on break. Just a head's up ) Letiel: Celahir: *steps into the hallway and closes the door* Rachyr, Amaya made it perfectly clear when you left that I'm not to let you see her again. Her orders. Now please go back to Niika. Soul: "I'm not going back to Niika. If you're not going to let me see her, then I'm leaving this place, I don't care about the stupid storm." Xiomara: “River!” Leif exclaimed and hung behind for the turquoise-eyed healer and her elder brother. “Are you getting worse?” He pressed his hand against her temples for temperature. “Ah! It’s hot!” Leif withdrew his hand before turning to call to his other teammates walking ahead of them. “Can we stop? River has a fever!” He watched Kite revolved his entire form to acknowledge them and then turn his head towards his partner. Leif caught only fragments of their conversation, but could not understand their response through the downpour cascading heavily onto the crag. “I don’t believe this!” Kite cried through the dense veil of rain drenching his formal attire into his skin. “If we delay further,” expasperation kindled vehemently in his dark stare while he protested, “the storm will reach this side! We’ll never find a boat to take us.” The pallid adolescent’s impatience magnified when Xiomara gave no verbal response and continued to study their other companions placidly. “What’re you doing? Have you forgotten about his debt to you?” a contemptuous edge sharpened in his words. “What happened to that determination? Answer me!” Xiomara bristled at the insult contained within his barrage of furious queries. “I know what I’m doing! You will not keep their cooperation if you force them to travel further,” she pressed her lips into a thin line. “Leif will rebel for his partner’s wellbeing. Insubordination could ruin the entire mission.” Xiomara relinquished the patience fencing her indignation constructed by his verbal assaults. “Don’t ever ask me that again. I’ve never forgotten the freedom lost for every hair on that brat’s head!” she drew her lips back into a snarl. “Someone will take us across the sea. I’ve threatened, thieved, murdered, and lied before. I could easily do it again!” (It should be fine. My break started two days previous to now, so I won’t be online as long as usual.) Letiel: Celahir: *hesitant* Rachyr, it's not the storm I'm worried about... *sighs* All right... *opens the door and steps aside* Soul: Soul doesn't smile, he simply closes his ayes and bows his head a little. With that done, he painfully limps inside the room. "Ama-chan" he whispers when he sees her. Letiel: Amaya: *looks up surprised then backs up* What do YOU want? Soul: Soul backs up as a reaction for Amaya backing up. "I...I just anted to see if you were okay, and to tell you that I'm sorry for causing trouble." Letiel: Amaya: Well, I'm fine. Why don't you go back to Soren? *crosses arms* He's the only one you ever cared about anyway. Anotherfalleneve: Bran: *sighs* come one Conar you're killin me here. How old are you? River: (alrighty) "I'm ok," River insisted. "I can rest when we get on the boat." Current gave her a strange look and sighed. He scooped her up and carried her in her arms. "Mind holding her bag, Lief?" he asked. Letiel: Conar: *pouts* Does it matter? At least let me go with you! Or tell me where you're going Anotherfalleneve: Bran: I'm going back to amaya's place... I dont want anyone slowing me down. Letiel: Conar: That's perfect! I was headed there in the morning but if you're going now, I can come too! Anotherfalleneve: Bran:.....*thinking* Letiel: Conar: Is something wrong? If there's something up you should tell me. Anotherfalleneve: Bran:.. huh? uh dont worry its nothing ...... if you really have to accompany me then fine ... just dont slow me down. Letiel: Conar: I won't! I promise! Soul: "He's not the only one I cared about! Look at me! I can barely walk, if I didn't care about you I wouldn't have come to check on you!" Soul tkes a deep breath and turns away himself "But fine. If you think that, then I'm leaving. You won't hear from me ever again. I won't bother you anymore." Xiomara: Leif nodded and accepted the knapsack from his partner’s elder brother. “We’re ready,” his statement was ignored amidst the mute argument ensuing between his two other companions. He was taken aback by the angry light flashing Xiomara’s lantern glow gaze while she acknowledged the shorter adolescent. “What’s going over there?” Leif mouthed the words to Current, who shrugged in terse response. “Hurry up!” he pivoted towards the command given by Kite. Leif suppressed the urge to roll his eyes at his teammate’s usual bad temper, which seemed to have magnified tenfold. He waited for River and Current to walk ahead of him before following after. ‘Why is River doing this?’ his brows furrowed together as the downpour became fiercer. ‘It looked like they’d offer rest, and the storm’s getting worse.’ Letiel: Amaya: If you cared so much you wouldn’t have left the last time you were here. You wouldn’t have left in the first place! River: River coughed a bit and then closed her eyes. She fell asleep as Current carried her. Current walked by Leif's side to have a mute conversation. The docks were practically a few paces away now and Current went under a roof to sheild him and River from the rain. He let Xiomara and Kite handle getting the boat. Current was ok at haggleing but no expert. Besides, how does he know if they are actually paying for a boat? He stayed with Lief and quietly chatted with him. Soul: "Amaya, sometimes we have to do stuff we don't want to do!" Letiel: Amaya: You didn't even offer to take me with you! *turns away, crying* Soul: "I couldn't take you with me! This place is safer!" Letiel: Amaya: I would've been fine! I would've become stronger! You and Soren both! Xiomara: Xiomara spoke to the fisherman in hushed tones. He was startled how his partner easily manipulated him with her words, but refused to compliment her achievement, because of their previous argument. Instead, he averted his attention to the boats and harbor buoying violently in turbulent waters. ‘We’re too late,’ Kite dipped his head in resign. ‘I’d thought so,’ he aimed a tapered look towards Xiomara meaningfully, but it was ignored if she spotted it amidst her bribing and the violent tempest. He watched the fisherman bob his head in agreement to every poisonous syllable tumbling off Xiomara’s tongue. ‘Is he really that stupid? It’s suicidal to travel in this weather,’ Kite jerked backwards when a series of waves threatened to swallow the seemingly diminutive dock beneath them. ‘I guess I must be as equally stupid to carry on, he clenched and unclenched his fists to quell the trepidation rising in his throat. ‘I don’t understand,’ the doubt felt like a ponderous burden weighing him to the bottom of the sea, ‘this doesn’t even have anything to do with me. What am I doing here?’ “Kite,” he suppressed the urge to jump when his teammate pressed his hand against his shoulder to break his daze. “What’re you doing? Aren’t you coming?” Kite forced his body to become rigid to conceal the shudder traveling up his spine. “Right,” he waited until Current and River followed the light-haired adolescent into the wooden boat. He stared down at the floorboards that screeched when he added weight onto them to climb tentatively into the vehicle. ‘I don’t need to do this,’ he flinched when water leaked through the breaches between the steps. ‘So why am I? Kite raised his head like he had been given a silent command and surprised to interpret a mute apology in his partner’s ocher gaze. This startled, but encouraged him to continue and remember to duck his head before entering the boat perched atop the perilous sea. Soul: (Sorry, this is probably the lat post in the day) "You know what?" he asked, looking directly at the girl's eyes "You're right. How can I make it better?) Letiel: Amaya: *startled by the question and isn't sure how to answer* Heart: (Soul told me to continue with this...) Soul: Do you want to come with me? I don't know what will happen, though. It might be very dangerous. Letiel: Celahir: *comes back into the room* Rachyr, I think you need to go back to Soren now. Heart: Soul looks at Celahir with a frown. Soul: Fine then. *Leaves* Letiel: Celahir: *watches Soul leave then turns back to Amaya* What's wrong? Amaya: *crying* nothing... just go please... Celahir: *nods and leaves* Heart: *Soul limps until he reaches the end of the hallway, hthen collapses.* Letiel: Celahir: *walks over to Soul and picks him up* Soren's room isn't down there, silly. Soul: Soul is barely awake, but tries to look at Cleahir "She h-hat-tes me." Letiel: Celahir: *sighs* She doesn't hate you. Soul: "S-she does. She hat-tes...me because I left..." Moyashi: Niika: ~fallen asleep in the window-seal~ Moyashi: ~Steering the boat in the storm~ How much more can this storm give me?.... River: Current set River down in the small room on the boat. He directed Leif to set her bag down by her. "Are there any sleeping quarters on this boat?" he asked Xiomara as he searched for the medicine. She gave him a curt nod and pointed to a latch in the floor. Current heaved River back up in his arms and decended. He situated her in a hamock. Lief stood by watching. River woke up to Current gently poking her in the head. "Hmm?" She coughed. "River, I'm going to give you your medicine now. It does have some side effects... I do not know what will happen as you recover." He looked worried and stroked her hair. Current urged her to swallow some thick liquid concation and she obeyed. Her vission became blurry and her eyes tilted back. Current watched River pass out in a horrifing manner. 'What have I done?' Kite's voice called down to him to come up. He looked at Lief, "Can you watch her?" Current accended up. Razaica: (oh....this will hurt) *rudely and painfully awakened by crates falling on me* AAAHHHH!! *lands in pile of crates w/ arms and legs sticking out from under the pile* Owwww......Why didn't you wake me up? Fushicho: This was more entertaining Raz: Thaaaaaaanks. *starts shifting crates off* Unknown: *hears falling crates and scream. flits over to other cargo hold and sees body flailing under crates* Is that...? How fortunate. *smirk* Moyashi: (lol i was waiting for it!) Hirose: Raz is awake Moyashi: Well its about time! ~she mutters loudly while steering the ship into a large wave~ Razaica: I think Moyashi did that on purpose. *still shifting off boxes, but almost free* Fushicho: I wouldn't put it past her *smile* Raz: What are you smiling at? Unknown: This stroke of luck *aims knocking out blow at back of neck* Raz: Wha-*starts whip around bu is too late. Falls unconcious* Fushicho: Hirose!! Help! Letiel: Celahir: *doesn't answer for a little while* mad maybe, but I don't think she hates you. *takes Soul back to Soren's room* Rachyr, Amaya can't hate you cause she loves you. Not a day went by that she didn't ask about you or Soren after you both disappeared. Soul: "F-for real?" He asks, eyes closed already. Letiel: Celahir: Yes. *sets Soul back on his feet* Soul: Soul sits down on the floor, but looks up to Celahir. "I'm sorry. Tell her I'm sorry." Letiel: Celahir: *squats down by Soul* I think talking to any upset young women is a bad idea. ^^ *sits down* I'll stay in here for now Amaya: *irritatedly storms over to her window* Soul: "Huh? why?" Letiel: Celahir: *stretches out* Cause women are really weird. Take it from me, friend, it will never be possible for a man to understand a woman. But, I have learned you never talk to them when they are angry. Hell is nothing compared to that. Amaya: *locks her door and changes into boyish clothes* Soul: Soul chuckles but shakes his head "No... I meant... Why are you staring here." Letiel: Celahir: *shrugs* Where else can I go? The other guards are watching the manor, my only charge is safe in her bedroom, and I think I need a break from all this running around. Amaya: *gathers a few things and prys her window open* Soul: "I guess you're right." Klaus watched from the bushes. Letiel: Celahir: *looks up at Soren* How did the kid die? Amaya: *gently lowers herself from the second story window and drops into the bushes* This IS a bad storm! *whimpers* Soul: Soul looks down sadly. "They shot his with an arrow. (I am not wrong, am I?) Klaus grabbed Amaya's hands firmly and smirks "Well, hello there!" Letiel: Celahir: *sighs* Not even a warrior's end... (yeah you got it) Amaya: *had forgotten about Klaus* What are doing?! *starts to panic and tries to pull away* let me go! Soul: Soul sobs a little "It's not fair" "Oh I don't think so!" says Klaus, still smirking "The boy is going to love it when he knows I've got you, right?" Letiel: Celahir: Life's not fair. Amaya: *fearful* He doesn't care about me... He's too smart to fall for that anyway! *trying to get free* Soul: Soul stays quiet for a few seconds "He was my best friend." "Oh, but I'm sure he would. You are his girlfriend aren't you?" Klaus says, standing up with Amaya still in his hold. Letiel: Celahir: *nods* You were his. Growing up at least. Amaya: Not anymore... *trying not to cry* Let me go! *kicks Klaus in the shin* Anotherfalleneve: Bran:*travels through the stormy abandoned streets to the outside of amayas manor.* *turns to Conar* Any ideas of how to get into your friends house easily? Letiel: Conar: The only hole in the wall I know of got filled in. *notes the wind* Bran, we need to find shelter! Soul: "Growing up? who as his friend before I came?" Klaus flinchs, but never lets go of Amaya. "Feisty, aren't we?" still holding to the girl, he bends down, and picks up a rock "Just to call their attention, hmm?" he trows the rock, covered in fire, towards the house, before running off, the girl still grabbing one of her wrists. Letiel: Celahir: I was referring to Co- *hears the crash and springs to feet* Amaya: *hitting Klaus' chest* Leave them alone! Let me go! Soul: Soul gets startles "What was that?!" "I will let you go when Rachyr finds us... maybe." Letiel: Celahir: *immediately secures the room* Stay here, Rachyr Amaya: *kicks Klaus' shins repeatedly* You will let me go right now! Anotherfalleneve: Bran: *nods and grapples his kusari gamma on the wall of the manor and starts to climb* hurry up. *the chain extends down to conar as Bran makes it over the wall* Letiel: Conar: *follows reluctantly* Bran! Let's go somewhere else! Anotherfalleneve: Bran: *lands on the other side* its a little too late for that now Conar. You can go somewhere else but i'm not leaving untill i find what i'm looking for. Letiel: Conar: and what are you looking for? Soul: Rachyr nods, and tries to wake up Niika. "I will not." Klaus says, still running "You are beautiful, too... Maybe I shouldn't give you away anyway.2 Letiel: Celahir: *creeps around to the back door* Amaya: *stops fighting back, too afraid to do anything* Anotherfalleneve: Bran:*glances up at conar* I'm not exactly sure myself but my instinct is telling me something is up... I wanna see what Arata was getting into to make him desert like that... well thats part of it and I wanted to check out sorens background Letiel: Conar: So why are we at Soren's house? Soul: "That's right. I could have some fun with you." Letiel: Celahir: *carefully goes out to the grounds* Amaya: *terrified* Anotherfalleneve: Bran: Soren was an elementalist which means his sis is one too and that they have to have some valuable info i could use. *glances around while sneaking through the courtyard* Soul: (Wait, where exactly is Conar?) Anotherfalleneve: (conar and Bran are sneaking through the courtyard right now) Soul: Klaus continues running "So. you said something about Rachyr?" Letiel: Celahir: *staying in the shadows of the yard and trying to keep the water out of his eyes* Amaya: *mutters weakly* He won't come. I'll yell at him to go away and he will. I don't care what you do to me. Conar: They don't keep records! Anotherfalleneve: Bran:*looks at conar in disbelief* every elementalist family is supposed to keep records. how do you not know that? 8o Letiel: Conar: *caught off guard* Well I never found any Anotherfalleneve: Bran: You've snooped through your best friends house before? wow.. some friend you are. *stops outside of a window and takes a peek* Letiel: Conar: *baffled* I wasn't snooping! Anotherfalleneve: Bran: what you previously said tells a different story. *doesnt see any one in the current room* lol what ever helps you sleep at night conar. *wraps a cloth around his fist and breaks through the window and pulls open the latch* Letiel: Conar: Don't break the window! *facepalm* Anotherfalleneve: Bran:*jumps through after opening the window* Heh too late for the warning. *stays low* come on you big baby. Letiel: Conar: *follows* Bran, do you have any family? Anotherfalleneve: Bran:*looks down at his napsack towards his journal* no... not anymore. I never knew my real parents. *peeks through a key hole by a door* where is every one? Letiel: Conar: So you're really on your own? *leans against the door, holding it closed* Anotherfalleneve: Bran: *sighs* Yeah *pulls on door and looks at conar questioningly* what are you doing? Letiel: Conar: What EXACTLY are you looking for? Anotherfalleneve: Bran: does it matter? *yanks on the door* Letiel: Conar: *closes it again* Does it have anything to do with what Kazuki told you? Soul: "Maybe you don't. But he will." They enter a cave. Letiel: Celahir: *has locked down the grounds and is searching for intruders* Amaya: *Kicks Klaus again* Where are you taking me? Letiel: (Sorry for the double post guys! I wanted the 3000th post XD) Xiomara: Current had already climbed upstairs when he knelt beside the hammock’s rim. Leif peered over and then wiped away the perspiration collecting onto her temples with a cloth handkerchief. ‘She looks a little better,’ he tried to soothe his tense conscious. ‘I should have made sure she was warm,’ the light-haired adolescent tapped his cranium in light chastise before slumping against the wooden flank of the boat. Leif grimaced as the boat writhed violently in the waves’ turbulent clutch. ‘I’m going to be sick,’ he swallowed his revulsion by trying to shut his mind into forced slumber. Kite conjured streams of air into his palms when his teammate mimicked his actions with the opposing element. He hesitated to allow enough air to collect before thrusting his arms upwards to release the pressure stored up between his fingers. “What’re you doing?” he recoiled when a stream of water struck his shoulder. “Are you trying to kill me?” he glowered at Current in mistrust and frustration that his creation was foiled by his momentary loss of concentration. Kite exhaled heavily in resign when the teal-eyed adolescent stared through him blankly like he was made of vapor. ‘I’ve admitted that I can’t perform this trick alone,’ his eyes flashed with resentment, ’but it won’t either if my partner’s mind is elsewhere!’ River: Current gave a short 'sorry' and resumed his water controling. He tried to concentrate more but River was on his mind. 'She will be ok. The medicine WILL work. Lief can take care of her. He couldn't mess that up.' Current cringed and accidently hit Kite again. 'No, even Lief isn't stupid enough to kill her with neglect. His concern for her is impressive...' Current sighed and said a quick 'sorry' again. He ignored Kite's scowl and continued. She was sweating. Someone wiped her forehead and some relief came. She shivered and opened her eyes. Lief was vomitting in a bucket. "Lief!" she rasped. "You're sick too?" River felt instint pity and concern. She attempted to situate herself to see him better but failed. Her body was jello. Moyashi: Moyashi: What was that?...Hirose! What's going on? ~thinking while concentrating on NOT crashing the boat~ Hirose: Ki-Fushicho says there's a problem down with raz! a big problem! Moyashi:Of course there is.... ~she lifts her hand and forms a small water ball which forms a fish~ Keep me posted...i can't let the helm go for another few min or we'll flip the ship Hirose: ~nods~ Niika: ~still asleep in windowseal~ Letiel: Celahir: *coming to the realization that everything is more or less all right* *notices Amaya's open window* Oh s*** Amaya: *kicks Klaus' repeatedly* Where are you taking me?! Anotherfalleneve: Bran: *studies Conar* he doesnt seem to be letting that go .... are you seriously still stuck on that subject of your so called crazy brother? come on Conar I have my own reasons to be doing this. Letiel: Conar: Like? Anotherfalleneve: Bran: *looks around* Arata... and the family tree being one of the more important things i need... *hears a noise* we should get moving Letiel: Conar: *locks the door* I don't think you're telling me everything that's bothering you Anotherfalleneve: Bran: What the are you mad? we need to get moving i think someones coming. nows not the time for this Conar. *surprised by his actions* why is he freaking out..... hmmm Letiel: Conar: Bran, I really wish you never got involved with Kazuki. *shaking head sadly* It puts me in a little bit of a mess Anotherfalleneve: Bran: A mess eh? *stands up straight* want me to clean something up for you? *stomach gurgles* Letiel: Conar: I like to clean up my own messes actually *grabs knife handle* Anotherfalleneve: Bran: *doesnt like where this is going* This makes no sense conar but i'm not going to give in w/o a fight..*grips chains* Letiel: Conar: *uses Earth to trap Bran's feet while closing the distance, stabbing at Bran's head* Anotherfalleneve: Bran:Tch. *Falls backwards and wipes chains around conars legs* Letiel: Conar: *removes the earth around Bran's feet, falls onto Bran and immediately uses knees to pin his arms* Anotherfalleneve: Bran: *Barfs out the oily liquid he drank earlier causing flames to engulf the 2 of them while rolling out from under Conar* Letiel: Conar: *cancels out the flame and springs to his feet* Anotherfalleneve: Bran: There goes my chance to stealthily check the mansion out *pushes off the ground and throws scythe end of the kusarigama at Conars head* Letiel: Conar: *blocks it with air and gets in close with the knife, stabbing at Bran's gut* Anotherfalleneve: Bran: *surprised at Conars swiftness as he takes the knife and staggers* Letiel: Conar: *pulls the knife out and stabs again at an upward angle* Anotherfalleneve: Bran: *deflects with the weight end and staggers back yanking on the scythe end* Letiel: Conar: *uses air to blow away the sycthe again, and keeps close, stabbing at Bran's chest* Anotherfalleneve: Bran: *wraps the chain around Conars wrist while simultaneously tripping him* Letiel: Conar: *falls and pulls on the chain, trying to bring down Bran as well* Anotherfalleneve: Bran:*Weakened by blood loss falls towards Conar* Letiel: Conar: *holds knife pointing up* Xiomara: “Current!” Kite’s irate shout snapped the taller adolescent from his daze. “It’s easier to throw me overboard if you wanted to kill me!” his eyes smoldered with ire at his teammate’s futile endeavors to calm the tempest thrusting the sea and sky into chaos. “I thought you’d be motivated to help your sister by easing the water,” he spat while trying to collect air currents into his palm again, “but you’re as useless as Leif!” Kite ceased ranting when he spotted a large wave driving towards them. ‘I won’t be able to cast air fast enough to block it!’ he cursed Current under his tongue and tried to speed the process up by forcing more energy to his fingertips. “For the love of Ahos,” he whipped his head around for his other dark-haired partner, “where’s Xiomara?” Leif flinched in revulsion. ‘This stinks,’ he unsteadily rose onto his feet to help River. ‘The boat is making me sick,’ he returned her onto the woven hammock before slumping onto the floor. ‘And there’s an overwhelming spiritual presence,’ Leif hunched his shoulders to avoid having his head hit the low ceiling, ‘that’s suffocating me. I wonder if River can feel it, too.’ “Are you feeling better?” he rubbed his eyes tiredly to snap himself back into wake. “You look a lot better,” his bowels churned at the stench lingering in the lower cabin, “than when we boarded.” River: Current spotted the trecherous wave and Kite's hidden panic. He flung himself closer to the ledge and blocked the wave. He panted and continued. "Useless as Lief?" he asked smirking. River attempted to hold out her hand to comfort Lief. "I do feel a bit better," she wispered, "but my body... its so hard to move it." Her hand shook as it rested in Lief's. "You look ill though," she noticed, "Besides the seasickness... what's wrong?" Xiomara: “I can’t tell the difference anymore,” he withdrew the air current from striking Current. “There’re others heading in this direction,” Kite gestured towards the cerulean waves billowing towards them. “I’ll try to disperse the clouds,” he bowled over his previous retort and craned his neck towards the thunderheads blocking out the sun. “Can I trust you to calm the water?” his query was edged with unconcealed mistrust. Leif tried to dissuade her concern. “It’s nothing,” he rotated his head towards the door leading onto the deck. “I’ll carry up if the weather’s lightened.” The light-haired adolescent lifted her out of the hammock after she bobbed her head in feeble consent. ‘It was probably Kite or Current,’ he leisurely teetered up the wooden steps, which creaked under their combined weight. ‘Their arguments could break the ocean into clean halves.’ (Sorry for the immediate departure, but I need to get offline. Ciao. Hopefully, they’ll reach land soon. I can’t write sick scenes without feeling nausea myself. River: (hehe ok, night!) "Sure thing," Current replied. "I wonder what they want..." River allowed Lief carry her up to the deck. Her throat was feeling better but her body was still extremely weak. He sat her down gently with her back outside of the room's wall. She watched Current and Kite do their skilled controling and conjuring. Lief had taken River up. Now Current was motivated to concentrate. If he didn't pay attention he could hit River. "Hmm...Lief? Where's Xiomara?" River asked. Soul: "You'll see." said Klaus, always smirking. Razaica: Raz: *unconcious* Unknown: *currently trying to hide Raz's body and self for the duration of the crazy ship ride* Letiel: Amaya: *drags feet in the dirt* What are you going to do to me? Soul: "What do you think it is?" he said, pulling at Amaya's arm and bringing her close to him. Letiel: Amaya: *pales and squirms* Don't! Xiomara: “I don’t know,” Leif used the wooden beam to balance their weight. “I can’t see her,” he was unnerved by the shadowy adolescent’s absence, but suppressed it under a slight frown. “Hold on tight,” he admonished when the boat tilted under the treacherous forces of the water beneath them. “And don’t let go of me,” he felt her arms tightened around his neck in immediate response. Leif maintained a stable distance between themselves and their teammates to avoid being caught in their attacks. He remained usually silent during his stern vigil for nature’s abrupt assaults upon the feeble boat buoyed at the mercy of it. River: River held onto Lief tightly. She was basically giving him a deadly hug (only she was too weak to do any harm). She closed her eyes and layed her head on Lief's shoulder from exhaustion. "The ship is getting closer," Current murmered. The boat started tipping. "Oh no..." Current hurried to steady particular waves. 'If River wasn't sick this job would be much easier.' He sighed. 'River could probably control these waves just as well as me.' Current threw up his arms sheilding a giant wave. Xiomara: Leif struggled against his partner’s crushing embrace. “River! You’re choking me!” she jerked away, but the action caused them to swing treacherously towards the rim of the fishing boat. He pushed off the wooden skeleton to prevent them from flinging overboard. His breaths came out in ragged gasps while he tried to stable himself. “Be careful!” Leif did not have to raise his head to recognize the voice, but flinched instinctively upon hearing it. “Don’t waste our efforts to try to keep you on the boat by flying off it! Stupid!” Leif waited until River had calmed before replying. “I don’t like it when you call me that, Kite,” his voice was level, but cracked with forcibly restrained indignation. “Don’t lose your attention on the storm clouds,” he mimicked his teammate’s tart reprimand. “I won’t,” Kite rejoined scathingly. “And I don’t want someone like you telling me what to do!” Both adolescents abandoned their present surroundings when averting their focus wholly towards the argument massing darkly like the storm clouds above them. Their minds vaguely registered River’s and Current’s remarks made to soothe their evident hostility directed towards each other. “Look out!” a scream wrenched their attention towards the furious waves buffeting the sides of the vehicle before either side could commence argument against one another. River: A wave. Could have been anything, but ironically River was flung off the deck due to a wave. She tried to move her body in the swirling masses of water but she was still jello. She cursed the medicine in her mind. "River!" Current shouted. He took his mind off the waves for a moment. He ran to the deck's edge to see where she went. Xiomara: “River!” the scream escaped him after his mind tiredly registered her disappearance. Leif reflexively scanned his drenched surroundings and recognized the wind manipulator’s abrupt absence along with his partner’s. He couldn’t contain himself from calling for her again, though she’d already disappeared beneath the waves. He compelled his numbed legs to dive into the water to search for her, but his instincts rebelled and restricted his gangly form of movement. “Move! Get out of the way!” Leif was forcibly thrust away from the deck’s edge, which caused his head to meet the wooden floorboard upon strident impact. He recovered from his former state of immobility and blinked his auburn eyes open to see the formerly missing team commandant dive into the frigid ocean. Kite choked on the mouthfuls of briny water forcing itself down his windpipe. His chest felt a ponderous weight as his lungs collected the seawater that replaced oxygen in this foreign realm. ‘Help,’ a stream of bubbles escaped his lips as he sunk towards the bottom of the ocean. ‘I don’t want to stay here,’ Kite protested against the invisible weight pressed against him, but felt himself sinking further with every struggle. River: Current just stared out into the waves. "Where is she? I could go in but I have no clue... Lief!" he spun around and held the boy between his hands. "Did you see where she fell?" His teal eyes were racing. "The medicine will take full effect soon... River won't be able to move!" River opened her eyes. She knew her eyes should have felt stinging from the salt but all she felt was numbness. The medicine was definatly taking effect. The teal irises rolled over to the side and she spotted her teammate, Kite struggleing in the water. Her head tilted slightly out of habit and she felt the underwater currents turning her toward him. River realized she caused that to happen. She concentrated harder but the medicine was making her loopy. River could tell most of her air was gone. She tried to move her hands, feet, anything but all stayed still. She saw another figure in the distance appear abruptly, swim down, and go towards Kite. River tried to say something but her mouth wouldn't move. Anotherfalleneve: Bran:*Falls on the blade and stares conar in the eyes* it seems like you finally..... showed *coughs up blood* your ... real heh.. self... *shallow breathing* Letiel: Conar: *stares at Bran with cold eyes* Just die already. Xiomara: (I saved all my posts for the ‘Fast-Paced Role-play’ on a key flash drive, but it disappeared today without warning. I shall continue looking for it tomorrow.) Leif jolted to attention and peered over the wooden brim of the boat. “River!” his eyes roved across the indigo waves for his teammates. Hope flickered in his chest when he spotted feeble movement beneath them. The light-haired adolescent turned towards Current to alert him, but the words tumbled incoherently off his tongue in the following seconds. The wave’s incessant pattern abruptly shattered upon an explosion of water cascading upwards. Leif was knocked backwards by the water blast’s immense force before he could recognize its presence. He choked and spat out the saltwater, which had flooded into his mouth upon impact. He raised his head to acknowledge whatever had submerged from the turbulent waters, but could not emit anything reasoned to say. Instead, he gaped wordlessly at Xiomara who’d again managed to make another unpredicted entrance along with Kite and River cradled between her arms. River: Xiomara had River. She was ok. Current sighed in relief. He acknowledged Lief and leaped in after him. It was easy finding him due to knowing his location. River would shiver if she could. She felt paralyzed, only moving her eyes. She tried to muster a thanks to Xiomara. (I recovered it. Leif wasn’t tossed overboard, but knocked backwards onto the deck.) Kite expelled the water weighing down his lungs by coughing raggedly. He tried to stand upright but slump onto the sodden floorboards beneath him in exhaustion. “What were you thinking?” he blinked upwards at Xiomara who continued to cradle the teal-haired medic in her arms. Her concern for her stunned teammates was buried under her livid demeanor boring holes into both of them. “You would have died,” she loosened her clasp around River to lower the injured healer onto the deck, “because of a stupid argument.” Her ocher eyes smoldered with ire as they raked over her teammates. “You’ll live,” Kite detected suppressed wrath lacing her remark while she inspected their half-drowned figures. “Get them out of here,” Xiomara mutely chastised Leif with her ocher stare. “We’re staying for another night and then walking for the rest of the trip.” River: (oops my bad) After seeing if Lief was alright Current rushed over to River. He gave her a nod respecting and thanking her for saving River. She tried to cough the water out and suceeded in little. Current held her up and forced the rest of the water out. Anotherfalleneve: Bran: *weakly scratches at conars arms* i cant die here.. *voice is just a whisper now* not like this Letiel: Conar: *gets up and watches Bran* too late Anotherfalleneve: Bran:*uses the last of his strength to feebly reach for his journal* .... *body goes limp as blood starts to pool around him* Letiel: Conar: *rolls the body over to just below the broken window and is about to leave but stops to sift through bran's things* ... *decides it's a bad idea to leave this stuff laying around and picks up the journal and bag* Anotherfalleneve: (lol is celahir inspecting the mansion?) Letiel: (wait for it...) Celahir: *finishes securing the grounds and notices the broken window, immediately investigates* Conar: *has already made it to the main hall and is making his way to Soren's room* Anotherfalleneve: Arata:* Traveling through the woods with a small group of followers* What the* the scar that Bran left him was burning* uunh.. *looks up in the stormy sky* i hope this isnt what i think it means... Xiomara: (It’s alright. Ah! I’ve been getting online earlier to extend my study periods in the evening. Sorry for not being able to alert you sooner.) Xiomara did not acknowledge the gesture and withdrew from her injured teammates. Her demeanor subsided into its usual poise, despite the wrath still smoldered intensely in her ocher eyes. “Get some sleep,” she reared backwards to allow Leif to hover anxiously over his partners. “We’ll be docking tomorrow,” Xiomara produced a metal canister from her sodden coat and offered it to the pallid adolescent. “Are we there yet?” Kite accepted a canteen passed to him. “I didn’t think,” he paused to swallow graciously the fresh water contained in its tin stomach, “we’d be there already.” Xiomara stared past them towards the horizon shrouded by haze. “We aren’t,” she surveyed the tempest’s residue littering their fishing vehicle. “We’ll rest by the harbor and then take the mountain pass instead.” “You don’t want to fish us out again,” Kite translated with slight accusation in his response. “It was an accident,” he wiped away the rivulets of water trailing down his throat. “I can’t afford any more accidents,” she replied shortly, and ire kindled in her stare again. “I have someone waiting for me.” River: Current gave a questioning look to Xiomara then averted his attention to River. He swiftly undrenched her and went to search for a blanket. Lief took watch over River for the moment. All she could do was watch the water and stay limp. (My posts are getting short D: haha) Xiomara: Leif looked at the taller adolescent expectantly for further explanation to their journey, but was responded to his mute question with silence. He returned his attention to his soaked teammates and rubbed River’s shoulders to circulate blood through her wilted form. “You look like a noodle,” he teased lightly. Leif tried to disguise his guilt by offering a feeble smile, but was unable to cast away the self-reproach felt towards the previous incident. He wrenched his attention towards Kite when his keen ears heard the adolescent rise upright slowly. Leif withdrew his offer to assist him under the sharp look he gave him. He watched Kite teetered towards the cabin beneath the deck to rest guiltily. “Stop it,” Xiomara snapped him out of his quiet remorse. “There are accidents,” her voice mellowed for a millisecond and then became trenchant again, “but you need to be more careful. I can’t save you from falling off a cliff in the mountains.” Leif did not give any verbal response upon sensing she would say otherwise, but was again disappointed with silence in response. ‘I think it’s a town,’ he squinted to see opaque shapes lining the horizon. ‘It’s the shore. We’re not far now,’ his elation outweighed his doubt and guilt, giving him hope. (Should we add a time skip? They can approach the town and rest before traveling again for River’s and Kite’s recovery.) River: (yes let's) Current came out with a blanket in his hands. He went over to River and wrapped her up. She tried to say thank you but her mouth wouldn't move. Current laughed and set her farther from the edge. "Are we going to that town?" he asked. Xiomara: Xiomara responded to his query by directing them towards an adjacent lodge upon docking at the harbor. The town consisted of a chain of restaurants surrounding a marketplace bordering the neighborhood. It was noticeably smaller than the city they’d departed from previously, but fulfilled their present desire to rest. “That’s strange,” Kite sauntered closely enough to his shadowy partner to catch her mumbles. “They’re all restaurants.” He craned his neck towards the various restaurants dotting the square, which she had been referring to. His brow rose in silent question upon realizing the exactness in her remarks, but was unable to process it in his fatigued state. He stumbled into the inn without recognizing Xiomara’s absence after he’d pushed past the wooden entrance. Current gestured towards the general direction where their rooms were situated before each pair divided into opposite directions. Leif collapsed onto the bed sheets and plummeted into deep slumber without uttering another syllable. ‘He’s so easy to please,’ his cagey teammate refused to admit his own gratitude for the pristine cots and bedspreads which contrasted the uncomfortable hammocks beneath the deck. Instead, he continued to coax out the watery residue lingering in his sable hair from the previously taken shower. ‘Xiomara always appears at the exact opportune moment,’ Kite grudgingly reflected on the incident which had nearly snatched the breath out of himself and teammates. ‘But disappears anytime before or after,’ he dismissed his slight guilt for not thanking the taller adolescent by averting his attention towards the stubborn blinds. He forced to them to yield and fold to his satisfaction and then slumped onto a folding bed positioned across from Leif. His head momentarily bobbed upwards to make sure Leif had fallen asleep before allowing him to accept the shadowy embrace of sleep. River: It was morning and Current knocked upon Kite and Lief's door. An irritated Kite answered the door and shut it in his face. Current impatiently waited outside. Soon the whole group was out and were gathering to continue their journey. River was walking on her own fairly well. She even got a flower from her bag to decorate her hair with. She smiled when she saw Lief and walked next to him. A slight cough, but nothing severe. (hopefully that works) edit: ahhhh... ahaha yeah... to the mountains! XD Xiomara: (It’s good. I couldn’t help to laugh at Kite’s response. It suits him.) “Where’s Xiomara?” Kite’s inky gaze traveled through his teammates and immediately recognized her absence. “She’s late again,” he added unnecessarily. “I don’t see her,” Leif averted his apprehensive stare from his partner to the area around them for their shadowy leader associate. “I haven’t seen her,” he paused to peer over Current’s head, “since we stepped off the boat.” Kite folded his arms over his chest crossly. “I can’t imagine,” he craned his neck towards the powder blue expanse above, “where she goes off to. You can’t ever tell what she’s thinking!” Leif reflected on the glass store she’d lingered at for an unsaid purpose, but decided against sharing it with his anxious teammate to savor the knowledge imposed over him. His auburn gaze rested on River momentarily before searching through the mass of people awakened by routine to the market and neighborhood. River: Ahaha! I though so too! ) "Should we search for her?" River suggested. She slung her bag around her and lightly stepped away from the group. A few paces and she turned around. She tilited her head at Lief and realized what he was thinking about. She stopped and looked up, thinking too. He knew River was a bit odd in her childhood but these stops and gazes to nowhere were frustrating to him. Current also tilted his head, as part of the family habit. Xiomara: “I suppose,” Kite consented reluctantly. “It’s better than standing around,” he adjusted the strap balancing the canister across his back. “Let's split up,” his teammates brightened at the proposal, “and then meet back up here in an hour.” He received their mute approval before heading off in the opposite direction. His attention switched from street vendor to another dotting the marketplace with the sole intent to kill time. ‘I don’t understand,’ Kite concluded after mentally listing off his teammates could have wandered off to. ‘Aren’t they worried at all?’ Leif watched his teammate’s ebony head dissipated into the throng of strangers. “I think he’s warming up to us,” he tried to ignore the unfairness of his own remark. ‘I have River to depend on,’ Leif focused his attention elsewhere to the previous conflicts shared between them, ‘who has Current.’ He cringed at the astringent flavor of shame raising his throat upon realizing that neither Kite nor Xiomara shared companionable relations unlike themselves. “Do you think we should stock up?” he made an airy gesture towards his stomach to indicate food and water. “I don’t think,” Leif paused to recollect the trinkets stored in his knapsack, “I have anything to buy anything though.” He lowered his voice so only his teammates could overhear him. “Should we steal?” he tossed a cagey glance over his shoulder as though he had spoken loudly. River: River smiled at the option. She turned to Current and gave him a glance for approval. Current sighed. "Go for it." He saw River do a little leap. "...River." She haulted and looked at him. "Be careful." he turned around and spoke out loud to himself, "I should probably go with Kite..." River nodded. "Don't worry I'll be sly..." Another michevious smile. Xiomara: His apprehension dissipated upon River’s enthusiastic response. “We won’t get caught,” Leif sported a beam resembling their shadow teammate’s broad simper. “We’ve become experts,” he couldn’t disguise the boast in his proclamation, “after thieving off the streets.” Leif felt the taller adolescent’s turquoise gaze follow them until they disappeared behind the wooden stands marketing food. He matched River’s steps from a leisure saunter into a complete sprint that made his vision blur with exhilaration. Kite’s first response was to turn towards the general direction of the screams piercing his eardrums. Normally, his keen ears would guide him towards the noise’s source where he would decide whether the commotion was significant to him or not. However, instincts failed him when opaque impressions of his teammates darted past while being pursued by the irate owners of multiple street vendors. Kite realized his misfortune was inflating when they paused to turn around and wave towards him. Those few moments, Kite concluded, gave concise explanation to why he traveled by himself until encountering his outlandish companion. He also decided he was adopting Leif’s stupidity when he grabbed a few oranges off the stand and dashed after them. River: Current heard screams and decided to ignore them and follow Kite. "Hey! Wait up!" he called, his feet pattering down the street. River couldn't help but smile. She felt so free sprinting at full speed. She would glance at Lief occasionally and then check behind them for pursuers. "Ahaha!" she was laughing. They duo came to a turn which opened up to a plaza. River stopped running. "Hey," she wispered to Lief, "look. Persuavian flowers! They're rare!" She gave one of her michevious smiles. The flowers were situated on a cart attended by a busy artisian. She walked casually over. She was leaning on the wall of the plaza, people watching. It was a lazy habit she had before she intended to steal something. She watched two kids around the age of 14 wisper to each other. Then her eyes averted to a family clothes shopping. An 'aha' moment happened and she darted her vision back to the kids. "Current's sister?" she mused outloud. edit: Yes I completely made up a flower XD Xiomara: (It sounds convincing enough to be real! I apologize for my absence, I wasn’t feeling well yesterday. I’m adding a slight time skip if not minded.) Kite managed to maintain a verbal war with his teammates while dodging their livid pursuers. “I can’t believe,” he shouted over the commotion, “you’re endangering our lives for a flower!” “Like you’re any better!” Leif rejoined heatedly. “Don’t think no one saw you swipe those oranges,” his hand gestures accompanied his harried explanation, “and then take off after us!” “Oranges serve more purpose,” Kite jabbed his ginger accusingly towards the wad of flowers tucked between the teal-eyed medic’s arms, “than flowers! I can’t even remember the stupid names of those stupid flowers!” Leif swiveled his head around to scrutinize the distance between them and the pursuers. “So what? I see Current,” he added dutifully. “We need to stop for him,” he began to decrease his speed when Kite grabbed his wrist to compel him forward. “Someone was watching us,” his eyes darted towards their chasers before returning to the asphalt path ahead of them, “back there. Current will blend into the mob and catch up.” “Alright,” the light-haired adolescent consented to his proposal after sending a meaningful glance behind them. “We don’t have another choice,” he gulped air to fuel his lungs and managed through his heavy panting. “What about Xiomara?” Kite gave no verbal response until River gave him a nudge of friendly encouragement. “I can’t think of anywhere she’d be at. And we aren’t any use to her,” he ducked to avoid colliding into a vividly colored banner overhead, “if we get caught.” Leif mimicked his movements and took wider paces to catch up to him. “Let’s stop soon,” he said abruptly with an apprehensive glance towards River. “And regroup.” “You should think of things before!” Kite carped while scanning their surroundings. “Or it’s just extra work for me!” he ignored their cohesive sheepish apologies and propelled himself sideways. “That way! Left!” River: (nope it is good Sorry for my absense as well ) River ran behind her companions. She was lagging a bit behind but she kept up in a sense. The two guys were just faster than her. She quickly placed the persuavian flowers into her bag and tried to catch up. Suddenly they were gone. She halted and look to the diverging roads in front of her. Left...right... She turned around and panicked. She sprinted right. She followed the potential missing girl. 'What and idiot... flowers? Really?' She smiled at the thought. The 16-year-old girl was following River. 'Current will be so glad if this is her...' "Hmm?" River went the opposite direction of her friends. "Heh, perfect." She took off to catch River. (River, indeed, puts herself in bad situations a lot XD ) Xiomara: “Where is she?” Kite roared over the uproar attacking them from all sides. He swung his head from side to side for River, but could not distinguish her from the throng of people swamping the market. “River!” he mimicked Leif and cupped his hands over his mouth to project his voice over the crowd. Kite hesitated before trying again when he received no response. “Calm down,” the words instinctively tumbled off his tongue though he was unsure of the effect they’d have on Leif. “At least,” Kite could sense the waves of impatience bounce off the light-haired adolescent, “we’ve lost them.” Leif ignored his command and continued to call her name. “She didn’t hear you,” he craned his neck in the opposite direction they’d run. “She might be over there! River!” “Wait!” Kite sprung after the trail of dust he’d left in his haste. “Idiot! Slow down!” he tightened his grip over his canister’s strap to keep it from slipping off. (It’s alright. I haven’t been consistently online either. River: (hehe me too (: He's stuck with two clueless kids I almost feel bad for Kite.) ) River didn't see her teammates anywhere. She took charge of herself and dove into an alley. Luckily the persuers ran past her. River sighed, stood up, turned around, and fell again with a shock. Sol stood facing River. The girl fell at her appearance and looked scared. Sol laughed and then stopped herself when River crawled backwards. "...Here, take them." River pulled the persuavian flowers out of her bag. She threw them at the stranger and hastily stood up. Her back was to the wall. (Sol...? I'm not sure yet, might change, but for now it'll do. If you have any name ideas it'd be appreciated :3 Another idea is 'Sun' ) Xiomara: (Poor Kite. He has to endure so much. It’s a nice name though it sounds a little more masculine.) “Leif! Hold on!” the light-haired adolescent reluctantly skid into a halt between two alleys formed between a line of street vendors. “Isn’t that Current?” he gestured towards a large stand selling produce and pointed out a tuff of russet hair behind it. “Current!” Leif waved his hand for their teammate’s attention upon recognizing him. “Hey! We’re over here!” “You don’t need to give her anything, River,” both girls swiveled their heads towards the open end of the alley in surprise. The newcomer blocked out the sunlight from traveling into the willowy passage between two tall buildings. “It worried me,” the shadows obscured the stranger’s demeanor from their prying eyes, but its silhouette plainly depicted its movement and feelings, “to see you without Leif.” The stranger paused for dramatic effect to savor its adversaries’ shock. “I hope you weren’t going to give those flowers away,” its lips curled into a trademark simper, which River recognized. “They’re worth a lot, and my wallet’s bare.” River sighed in relief and became less cowardly. Her back stayed against the wall, posture slightly slouched. "Xiomara?" Sol wipped her head around. "No need for that look," she spat toward the stranger. "I was just going to reunite sibilings," she said gesturing to River. "Are you two aquanted?" Current heard Lief's voice and looked around. He spot him and Kite then walked over quickly. "Where's River and Xiomara?" he asked concerned. He towered over them casting a small shadow. (Ahh spelling mistakes hehe. I'm still not sure on the name haha.) Xiomara: “I’m not alone,” Xiomara pushed her bandanna over her eyes. “I can hear them closing in the ranks,” she swept her arm towards the exit to the shadowy alley to illuminate her indistinct response. “Let’s go, River,” Xiomara dropped her playful demeanor abruptly. “We cannot waste more time with this,” she made another gesture towards their united adversary. The shadowy adolescent hesitated before admitting what she had pondered since their voyage across the cerulean expanse. “We’re a team,” she murmured and then added loudly. “Did you think I’d leave you behind?” “Did you hear that?” Kite interrupted his teammate before he could respond to the query. He swung his head from side to side to pinpoint the sound’s location. “That was River,” he turned towards Leif who nodded in agreement. “I think it was coming from over there,” Kite began to point out the willowy passage pressed between two tall buildings, but was cut off by his teammates who’d hared off in that direction. A vein throbbed in his forehead out of his bubbling ire. “Hey! Wait up!” Kite sprinted after in pursuit of them. “Idiots! You don’t even know what’s in there!” River: River beamed at Xiomara's statement. She let her push her toward the exit. She ran along with her but kept looking back to the stranger. River was curious. Sol watched the two females run away. "Teammates..." she mused out loud while trying to remember a back passage-way. "Closest I've had was Current." The sound of running feet caught her attention. She turned around and curtly shouted, "Who's there?!" Current stopped in the middle of the alley causing Lief to bump into his back. He reconized the female irratably looking at him. "...Sol?" He asked in disbelief. The girl's brown eyes gave way to a softer look. She dropped her battle-ready stance. Sol ran at Current and gave him a violent hug. "Ahh! What brings you here!?" she laughed will she kneeded his head with her elbow. Current pushed away and gave a real smile, his eyes full of musements from the past. She gave a smirk, "Haven't seen that smile in a while." Current fixed his mouth to be a line again but his eyes still expressed joy. "I found River." "Heh, and so have I!" she stated quite loudly. "I was just about to tell her about you but then she ran that way with another 'teammate' and..." Sol was cut off. Her hand was grabbed by Current and they sprinted in the direction of River. (ahahaha! Kite and Lief must be so confused ) edit: (ahhhhh.... I realized there's a member who goes by 'Sol' give me some time.... *searches* ) I'll definatly change the name then... Anotherfalleneve: (yo river and xio can you 2 have shorter posts plz xD) Xiomara: Kite watched them dissipate into the crowd with unconcealed contempt. “Let’s go,” he turned towards the light-haired adolescent who was still trying to register what had just occurred. “Don’t worry about it. It isn’t important,” Kite jolted Leif into reality by dragging him into the sunlight. “We need to catch up with Xiomara.” Xiomara ignored Current’s endeavor to introduce her to the newcomer. Instead of verbally returning the greeting, she emitted a grumble that could have meant anything and continued to stare into the throng for her teammates. She suffocated under the unease evoked by her own stillness, but did not reconsider properly recognizing them to amend their discomfort. They continued to mingle in awkward silence and receive curious stares from multiple spectators until the voices of Kite and Leif begun to project over the crowd. Xiomara removed the cloth shielding her ocher eyes. “You’re back,” she swung her head towards Kite and then Leif. “I’m here,” Kite replied cagily, “but where you?” “Nowhere,” there was an unsaid agreement between them, and he reluctantly relinquished pursuit of the subject. “It’s time to leave. Let’s go.” (It’s alright. Did you already post her information onto the other threads? following this post?) (Sorry, AFE. Could you add a time skip Old habits die hard.) Moyashi: (well...kill your habits please...=D i'd rather not have to delete posts ^^ they are really long...) River: (Yes, some info is posted. I'll try. And am I suppose to not have long posts? ) They walked into the mountain range leaving the village behind. Current talked to (name) breifly describing what each missed to catch up. River walked behind Current and (name). She scrutinized the girl in front of her in a sort of musing way. River was looking at her... no kind of staring in an odd fashion. She turned around, gave her a funny look, stuck her tongue out, and continued talking to Current. She pointed and named her new teammates. "Xiomara, Kite, Current, Lief, and ...River..." She gave River another weird look noticing her mind was else where, head looking up. Current sighed and walked on. Xiomara: (It’s ironic, because I used to get scolded for shorter posts. I’ll see what I can do.) “Are you going to ever tell me,” Kite continued to cast suspicious glances over his shoulder at the newcomer, “where you keep disappearing off to?” “Stop worrying,” Xiomara jabbed him jokingly with her elbow. “You’re not my keeper,” she mimicked Leif’s retort used in previous episodes against his companion. Kite refused to look at her directly. “How can I not be?” he refocused his gaze on the shadowy technician. “You’re my partner. It’s my responsibility.” After some silence he turned away again, not wanting to meet her gaze. Xiomara then realized that he towered over her by a few inches, and she’d have to crane her neck to study his face. “I’m not a responsibility,” Xiomara allowed a crooked smile to grace her pallid features to express her surprised gratitude. “I expect you to look out for me,” she tugged her bandanna over her ocher gaze to conceal her embarrassment, “because you want to.” They climbed up the verdant plain sloping up towards the mountain path in companionable silence. “Don’t go running off by yourself,” Kite chastised gruffly. “You shouldn’t worry the team like that.” River: River stopped staring into space and payed attention to the conversation between (name) and Current. "What did i miss since I've last seen you?" (name) shrugged. "The usual. Theiving, bribing, making a living. I've become aquanted with a few useful people," she boasted smileing. River questioned (name) to herself and looked at Lief. "What do you think?" Moyashi: well, its sorta cause this is the fast-paced section.....shorter posts usually are supposed to happen...) Niika: ~still asleep on the window seal~ Xiomara: (I'll do my best.) “About what?” Leif tilted his head to scrutinize his partner curiously. After recognizing who the query was indicated towards, he hesitated to word his thoughts of auburnhaired newcomer. “She’s very loud,” Kite interjected their conversation without bothering to lower his voice so it was audible for his teammates only. He responded with a distrustful scowl when she turned around to glare at him for his remark. The light-haired adolescent shoved him in friendly chastise. “What?” Kite rubbed his shoulder though there was less irritation in his voice when he addressed them. “You’re a big, fat softie,” Xiomara replied before her younger partners. She didn’t turn her head from the sloping pathway, but Leif could recognize the simper beginning to mark her pallid features. “Except for the ‘fat’ part,” Leif amended with a swift glance towards each member of the group. “We could all use some fattening,” his stomach mourned the loss of the pastries they’d devoured earlier with a thunderous snarl. River: (Audra? Hmm maybe? For her name?...) "Hehe," River laughed. "I agree though. I'm hungry." Her face distorted into a small pout. Current nodded his head and looked to Xiomara. "Food stop?" he asked. Audra burst in. "Why are you asking her?! She's not the boss. If you want food, go get some!" She gave a toothy grin. Xiomara: (Celosia? Serefina? Adara? These are also other names that relate to ‘fire’ or ‘burning’. However, the name you’ve chosen sounds nice, too.) “Self-appointed leader,” Xiomara retorted levelly, “but a commandant nonetheless.” Mild challenge smoldered in her lantern glow stare, but was concealed underneath her cloth bandanna and cool response. “Unless you’d rather leave,” Kite closed in the distance between himself and his partner. “This doesn’t include either of you,” he turned towards his teammates for support. Leif bristled with indecision. “Anyone can leave whenever they want to,” he tried to ignore the disappointment flaring his partner’s eyes. “This journey really only includes myself and Xiomara,” he rubbed the back of his head sheepishly, “because of my debt. I don’t want to risk anyone for it.” “I don’t know what you’re saying,” his dissatisfaction remained, but he grudgingly supported his teammates. “I’m here,” Kite marched away from the group to shroud his embarrassment, “because someone needs to look after both of you! Neither of you bother to take care of yourselves!” River: (Hehe, Kite cares (: ) I really like the names you gave me I think I'll stick with 'Audra' though Audra gave a cross look when Xiomara wasn't looking. She could tell Current raised his eyebrow at her but she dismissed it. "Ah, whatever. I'm staying. I've been alone for a while." She put her hands behind her head. "It's about time for some change." Current smiled teasingly, "So you're ok with YOU not being 'leader'?" Audra released her hands behind her head. "Heck no! I'm not accepting it. I'm just traveling along." She looked away a little flustered. River giggled silently. River: (Should we move to another thread? I don't think we can kill our habits ^^; ) Xiomara: (I think it’s the better solution. Our characters will only interrupt the main plot. I’ll ask Moyashi to delete our posts. I have mine saved on a word document.) Razaica: (so you guys want me to make you guys a section of your own? =D i can do that if you want ^^...btw...guys...i'm giving up on my storm..to lazy...just pretend that it was REALLY terrible...and go from there..) Moyashi: ~steering the boat towards the shore~ Seems the storms dying down... The storm clouds remained and the wind died down to a heavy breeze. The pouring rain died to a sprinkle and the day still looked like night. The waves were less and less dangerous against the ports of the city. River: (I saved all my posts on Word. Moyashi, you may do as you wish with them ) Xiomara: (Could you delete our posts, Moyashi? We will make a separate thread when we've finished its plot. You're welcome to join us if you'd like.) Moyashi: (nah..i'll just leave them unless anyone else has a problem with them....and i'd love to join...where'd i come in?) Letiel: (I'm waiting for Soul to come back.... :() Xiomara: (I'm still trying to develop a plot for a large cohesive role-play. This might take awhile. Please PM any recommendations to either of us. Soul will hopefully be back soon, Letiel.) Moyashi: (alright, well let me know then.....i hope soul will come back soon too) Xiomara: (I have posted plot suggestions on About your Narrative. I hope one of them suits your interest. I hope Alf gets better soon, too.) Razaica: (Me three! And Moy, have you forgotton about Raz's predicament??? XD XD I love the comment on Kite's inflating misfortune! I'd have to say I like Kite best of all of your character's Xio) Xiomara: Thank you! He's my favorite to write about, too.
