Museum Tour:
Approximately 1 ½ hours long, our guided museum tour tour offers a fascinating glimpse into
Cumberland’s history. The first phase of this tour focuses on exhibits that interpret various aspects
of the community including emergency services, hospitals and health, schools, ethnic communities,
and local businesses. The second phase focuses on coal mining and other local industries, and
includes a walk through our famed replica coal mine! (The length can be changed to accommodate
your group).

Village Walking Tour:
A lively and engaging tour filled with facts, rumours, tragedies and tales from Cumberland's
colourful history. From the great fires and the great strikes, to lavish garden parties, war time
injustices and small pox isolation houses, the Village Walking Tour gives a lively glimpse into the
unique history and folklore of the Village. Leaves from the Cumberland Museum and Archives.
Allow for 1.5 hours.
Old Townsites Walking Tour:
The Old Townsites Tour features Cumberland’s unique cultural histories. Jumbo’s cabin may be all
that is left standing from Cumberland’s once-bustling Chinatown, but the Old Townsites Walking
Tour brings the old Chinese and Japanese settlements to life while walking through the majestic
forests on the edge of town.
