Locations: Lake (ECSE), Lake (K-2), Edison (3-6) Specialized instruction for students whose curriculum focuses on essential foundational academic skills. Students who need frequent practice of skills to be able to generalize into the traditional academic setting. Primarily for students with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities. Location: Noyes (K-6) Specialized instruction for students whose behavior or emotional needs get in the way of their learning. IEP goals/objectives center on developing appropriate behaviors for accessing learning in the Least Restrictive Environment. Specialized instruction is a parallel curriculum with access to the regular education curriculum supported by positive behavior intervention programs. Locations: Ellison (K-2), Pickett (3-4), Lake (5-6) Specialized instruction for students who may be in need of a parallel curriculum or an alternative curriculum. Primarily for those students with severe emotional disturbances and/or behavior issues. Located in a separate school, and therefore students do not have opportunities for daily access to nondisabled peers.
