We, the math team at ACRHS, commit to the continuous improvement of our individual and collective educational practices. We believe that our commitment to continuous improvement contributes to the achievement of our team’s goal: continuous advancement of student

learning in the area of mathematics. This year, we will demonstrate our commitment to continuous improvement by actively participating in the process of team collaboration. In an effort to increase the effectiveness of our team (measured by achievement of our goal), we commit to the following 5 collective commitments:

We commit to beginning and ending meetings on time, staying fully engaged, and maintaining a positive attitude during each meeting. o Promptness o Timekeeper o 100% participation with all voices heard o 100% attendance (meetings are sacred) o Positive attitude without complaining

We commit to listening and responding respectively to one another o Avoid interruption o Stay open to the ideas of others regardless of personal feelings towards them o Agree to disagree

 Accept differences (ex. teaching styles and approaches)

 Avoid assigning a judgment of “right” or “wrong” to ideas

 We commit to making decisions on the basis of consensus/a democracy o Accept the decisions made by consensus even if those decisions did not have your support to demonstrate commitment to the team over self o Every member must vote and voting results should be anonymous

 We commit to constructing and participating in meetings that are focused on the needs of students and our team’s goal: continuous advancement of student learning in the area of mathematics o Designate leader(s) o Agenda o Use the collaborative team meeting template (on the J-drive) to stay focused o Connect to goals on the ACRHS’s Continuous Improvement Plan
