take on the responsibility. Thanks were given to all Committee members who have
served in support of the hockey festival both this year and in the past.
More money was made from the 2014 festival than the 2013 festival. He commented
that he confirmed his personal pride with the contributions made to Naomi House
over the years.
The floor expressed their thanks to the Hockey festival Committee.

challenges for time allocations and umpire and asks
4. Real Ale Festival Report
Last year had 3,000 people turn-up. This was 1,000 less than the previous year. This
was due to the difference in weather conditions, which made it a great success. More
ale was consumed, they stayed for longer and made us more money this year.
Overall, £7k was donated to Naomi House and £7k was raised for Newbury &
Thatcham Hockey Club.
The risks of the weather was mentioned to members, as 12 hours before the festival
site was flooded. It was confirmed that some contingency money is set aside for
risks. £5k was raised prior to the event but this wouldn’t cover the costs if the festival
was cancelled.
This year the Newbury & Thatcham Hockey Club logo was included within tops and
within promotional material to link the festival closely with the club.

8. Coaching and Training Report
The Club Captain confirmed the success of the ladies section having three Level 2
coaches across three teams, and the men’s section having one Level 2 coach across
six teams with weaker results.
He affirmed his commitment to identify and develop more coaches to support senior
training so that the men’s section has more support at training. There was a further
desire and request from captains to increase attendance at training and this assists in
the quality of training overall and ensures sessions run effectively.
There is an aim to ensure consistent and the highest coaching standards across the
club.
A question was raised from the floor about Goalkeeper training. There was a
goalkeeper coach but attendance was low and therefore did not continue to any great
extent through the season.
There was then a discussion about running some specific skills sessions using players
with expertise and build them up to become interested in coaching over time.
The Chair expressed his thanks to Jim Ross.
