Marwell Wildlife, is a 140-acre zoo and registered charity. It is home to over 1,200 animals, an
incredible range of exotic and endangered species, and gives you the opportunity to get up close
to the wonders of the natural world and play a big part in helping to save them. From ring-tailed
coatis to majestic giraffes, endangered tigers to frilled lizards, curious meerkats to pygmy
hippos.
Your visit with Girlguiding South West England will include a short presentation by the Chief
Commissioner in the Science and Learning Centre and we hope that it will be possible for a
member of the Marwell team to come and tell you a bit more about the work they do.
Girlguiding will provide everyone attending with a voucher to be exchanged for refreshments,
which will be set out for us in Marwell Hall – a short walk from the Science and Learning Centre.
For Leaders, we will be holding a ‘Meet the Chief Commissioner’ session during the day which
will give you the opportunity to meet Solange and to chat to her about what is happening in
Girlguiding and in the Region.
Our event at Marwell will go ahead whatever the weather. Marwell has developed a ‘Wet
Weather Map’, which shows you all the undercover viewing areas, to help you get the most out
of your visit – whatever the weather.
Marwell Wildlife is about 8 miles from Winchester and 12 miles from Southampton. It is signpost
from the M27 and M3 motorways. Further information on Marwell Wildlife, its attractions and
